1 And I, Abraham, had the Urim and Thummim, which the Lord my God had given unto me, in Ur of the Chaldees;

1 Y yo, Abraham, tenía el Urim y Tumim, que el Señor mi Dios me había dado en Ur de los caldeos;

2 And I saw the stars, that they were very great, and that one of them was nearest unto the throne of God; and there were many great ones which were near unto it;

2 y vi las estrellas, y que eran muy grandes, y que una de ellas se hallaba más próxima al trono de Dios; y había muchas de las grandes que estaban cerca;

3 And the Lord said unto me: These are the governing ones; and the name of the great one is Kolob, because it is near unto me, for I am the Lord thy God: I have set this one to govern all those which belong to the same order as that upon which thou standest.

3 y el Señor me dijo: Estas son las que rigen; y el nombre de la mayor es Kólob, porque está cerca de mí, pues yo soy el Señor tu Dios; a esta la he puesto para regir a todas las que pertenecen al mismo orden que esa sobre la cual estás.

4 And the Lord said unto me, by the Urim and Thummim, that Kolob was after the manner of the Lord, according to its times and seasons in the revolutions thereof; that one revolution was a day unto the Lord, after his manner of reckoning, it being one thousand years according to the time appointed unto that whereon thou standest. This is the reckoning of the Lord's time, according to the reckoning of Kolob.

4 Y el Señor me dijo por el Urim y Tumim que Kólob era conforme a la manera del Señor, según sus tiempos y estaciones en sus revoluciones; que una revolución era un día para el Señor, según su manera de contar, que es mil años de acuerdo con el tiempo que le es señalado a esa donde estás. Esta es la computación del tiempo del Señor, según el cómputo de Kólob.

5 And the Lord said unto me: The planet which is the lesser light, lesser than that which is to rule the day, even the night, is above or greater than that upon which thou standest in point of reckoning, for it moveth in order more slow; this is in order because it standeth above the earth upon which thou standest, therefore the reckoning of its time is not so many as to its number of days, and of months, and of years.

5 Y el Señor me dijo: El planeta que es el luminar menor, más pequeño que aquel que ha de señorear el día, sí, la luz de la noche, está más arriba, o sea, es mayor que aquel donde te encuentras, en cuanto a computación, pues se mueve en orden más despacio; esto va en orden, porque se halla sobre la tierra en la cual estás; por consiguiente, no es tanta la computación de su tiempo, en lo que respecta a su número de días, de meses y de años.

6 And the Lord said unto me: Now, Abraham, these two facts exist, behold thine eyes see it; it is given unto thee to know the times of reckoning, and the set time, yea, the set time of the earth upon which thou standest, and the set time of the greater light which is set to rule the day, and the set time of the lesser light which is set to rule the night.

6 Y el Señor me dijo: Abraham, estos dos hechos existen, he aquí, tus ojos lo ven; te es concedido conocer los tiempos de computar y el tiempo fijo, sí, el tiempo fijo de la tierra sobre la cual estás, así como el tiempo fijo del luminar mayor que se ha puesto para señorear el día y el tiempo fijo del luminar menor que se ha puesto para señorear la noche.

7 Now the set time of the lesser light is a longer time as to its reckoning than the reckoning of the time of the earth upon which thou standest.

7 Ahora, el tiempo fijo del luminar menor es más largo, en cuanto a su computación, que la computación del tiempo de la tierra sobre la cual estás.

8 And where these two facts exist, there shall be another fact above them, that is, there shall be another planet whose reckoning of time shall be longer still;

8 Y donde existan estos dos hechos, habrá otro sobre ellos, es decir, habrá otro planeta cuya computación de tiempo será más larga todavía;

9 And thus there shall be the reckoning of the time of one planet above another, until thou come nigh unto Kolob, which Kolob is after the reckoning of the Lord's time; which Kolob is set nigh unto the throne of God, to govern all those planets which belong to the same order as that upon which thou standest.

9 y así habrá la computación del tiempo de un planeta sobre otro, hasta acercarte a Kólob, el cual es según la computación del tiempo del Señor. Este Kólob está colocado cerca del trono de Dios para gobernar a todos aquellos planetas que pertenecen al mismo orden que aquel sobre el cual estás.

10 And it is given unto thee to know the set time of all the stars that are set to give light, until thou come near unto the throne of God.

10 Y te es dado a conocer el tiempo fijo de todas las estrellas que han sido puestas para dar luz, hasta acercarte al trono de Dios.

11 Thus I, Abraham, talked with the Lord, face to face, as one man talketh with another; and he told me of the works which his hands had made;

11 Así fue que yo, Abraham, hablé con el Señor cara a cara, como un hombre habla con otro; y me habló de las obras que sus manos habían hecho;

12 And he said unto me: My son, my son (and his hand was stretched out), behold I will show you all these. And he put his hand upon mine eyes, and I saw those things which his hands had made, which were many; and they multiplied before mine eyes, and I could not see the end thereof.

12 y él me dijo: Hijo mío, hijo mío (y tenía extendida su mano), he aquí, te mostraré todas estas. Y puso su mano sobre mis ojos, y vi aquellas cosas que sus manos habían creado, las cuales eran muchas; y se multiplicaron ante mis ojos, y no pude ver su fin.

13 And he said unto me: This is Shinehah, which is the sun. And he said unto me: Kokob, which is star. And he said unto me: Olea, which is the moon. And he said unto me: Kokaubeam, which signifies stars, or all the great lights, which were in the firmament of heaven.

13 Y me dijo: Esto es Shinehah, que es el sol. Y me dijo: Kókob, que significa estrella. Y me dijo: Olea, que es la luna. Y me dijo: Kókaubeam, que quiere decir estrellas, o sea, todos los grandes luminares que había en el firmamento del cielo.

14 And it was in the night time when the Lord spake these words unto me: I will multiply thee, and thy seed after thee, like unto these; and if thou canst count the number of sands, so shall be the number of thy seeds.

14 Y era de noche cuando el Señor me habló estas palabras: Te multiplicaré a ti, y a tu posteridad después de ti, igual que a estas; y si puedes contar el número de las arenas, así será el número de tus descendientes.

15 And the Lord said unto me: Abraham, I show these things unto thee before ye go into Egypt, that ye may declare all these words.

15 Y el Señor me dijo: Abraham, te enseño estas cosas antes que entres en Egipto, para que declares todas estas palabras.

16 If two things exist, and there be one above the other, there shall be greater things above them; therefore Kolob is the greatest of all the Kokaubeam that thou hast seen, because it is nearest unto me.

16 Si existen dos cosas, y una está sobre la otra, habrá cosas mayores sobre ellas; por consiguiente, Kólob es la mayor de todas las Kókaubeam que has visto, porque está más cerca de mí.

17 Now, if there be two things, one above the other, and the moon be above the earth, then it may be that a planet or a star may exist above it; and there is nothing that the Lord thy God shall take in his heart to do but what he will do it.

17 Ahora bien, si hay dos cosas, una sobre la otra, y si la luna está sobre la tierra, entonces puede ser que sobre ella exista un planeta o una estrella; y no hay nada que el Señor tu Dios disponga en su corazón hacer que él no haga.

18 Howbeit that he made the greater star; as, also, if there be two spirits, and one shall be more intelligent than the other, yet these two spirits, notwithstanding one is more intelligent than the other, have no beginning; they existed before, they shall have no end, they shall exist after, for they are gnolaum, or eternal.

18 De ahí que él hizo la estrella mayor. Así también, si hay dos espíritus, y uno es más inteligente que el otro, sin embargo estos dos espíritus, a pesar de ser uno más inteligente que el otro, no tienen principio; existieron antes, no tendrán fin, existirán después, porque son gnolaum o eternos.

19 And the Lord said unto me: These two facts do exist, that there are two spirits, one being more intelligent than the other; there shall be another more intelligent than they; I am the Lord thy God, I am more intelligent than they all.

19 Y el Señor me dijo: Estos dos hechos existen: Hay dos espíritus, y uno es más inteligente que el otro; habrá otro más inteligente que ellos; yo soy el Señor tu Dios, soy más inteligente que todos ellos.

20 The Lord thy God sent his angel to deliver thee from the hands of the priest of Elkenah.

20 El Señor tu Dios envió a su ángel para librarte de las manos del sacerdote de Elkénah.

21 I dwell in the midst of them all; I now, therefore, have come down unto thee to declare unto thee the works which my hands have made, wherein my wisdom excelleth them all, for I rule in the heavens above, and in the earth beneath, in all wisdom and prudence, over all the intelligences thine eyes have seen from the beginning; I came down in the beginning in the midst of all the intelligences thou hast seen.

21 Yo habito en medio de todos ellos; por tanto, he descendido ahora para darte a conocer las obras que mis manos han hecho, por lo que mi sabiduría los sobrepuja a todos ellos, pues reino arriba en los cielos y abajo en la tierra, con toda sabiduría y prudencia, sobre todas las inteligencias que tus ojos han visto desde el principio; yo descendí en el principio en medio de todas las inteligencias que has visto.

22 Now the Lord had shown unto me, Abraham, the intelligences that were organized before the world was; and among all these there were many of the noble and great ones;

22 Y el Señor me había mostrado a mí, Abraham, las inteligencias que fueron organizadas antes que existiera el mundo; y entre todas estas había muchas de las nobles y grandes;

23 And God saw these souls that they were good, and he stood in the midst of them, and he said: These I will make my rulers; for he stood among those that were spirits, and he saw that they were good; and he said unto me: Abraham, thou art one of them; thou wast chosen before thou wast born.

23 y vio Dios que estas almas eran buenas, y estaba en medio de ellas, y dijo: A estos haré mis gobernantes; pues estaba entre aquellos que eran espíritus, y vio que eran buenos; y me dijo: Abraham, tú eres uno de ellos; fuiste escogido antes de nacer.

24 And there stood one among them that was like unto God, and he said unto those who were with him: We will go down, for there is space there, and we will take of these materials, and we will make an earth whereon these may dwell;

24 Y estaba entre ellos uno que era semejante a Dios, y dijo a los que se hallaban con él: Descenderemos, pues hay espacio allá, y tomaremos de estos materiales y haremos una tierra sobre la cual estos puedan morar;

25 And we will prove them herewith, to see if they will do all things whatsoever the Lord their God shall command them;

25 y con esto los probaremos, para ver si harán todas las cosas que el Señor su Dios les mandare;

26 And they who keep their first estate shall be added upon; and they who keep not their first estate shall not have glory in the same kingdom with those who keep their first estate; and they who keep their second estate shall have glory added upon their heads for ever and ever.

26 y a los que guarden su primer estado les será añadido; y aquellos que no guarden su primer estado no tendrán gloria en el mismo reino con los que guarden su primer estado; y a quienes guarden su segundo estado, les será aumentada gloria sobre su cabeza para siempre jamás.

27 And the Lord said: Whom shall I send? And one answered like unto the Son of Man: Here am I, send me. And another answered and said: Here am I, send me. And the Lord said: I will send the first.

27 Y el Señor dijo: ¿A quién enviaré? Y respondió uno semejante al Hijo del Hombre: Heme aquí; envíame. Y otro contestó, y dijo: Heme aquí; envíame a mí. Y el Señor dijo: Enviaré al primero.

28 And the second was angry, and kept not his first estate; and, at that day, many followed after him.

28 Y el segundo se llenó de ira, y no guardó su primer estado; y muchos lo siguieron ese día.
