1 Woe to her that is filthy and polluted, to the oppressing city!

1 ¡Ay de la ciudad opresora, inmunda y contaminada!

2 She obeyed not the voice; she received not correction; she trusted not in the LORD; she drew not near to her God.

2 No escuchó la voz ni recibió la corrección; no confió en Jehová ni se acercó a su Dios.

3 Her princes within her are roaring lions; her judges are evening wolves; they gnaw not the bones till the morrow.

3 Sus príncipes en medio de ella son leones rugientes; sus jueces, lobos del atardecer que no dejan hueso para la mañana;

4 Her prophets are light and treacherous persons: her priests have polluted the sanctuary, they have done violence to the law.

4 sus profetas, insolentes, hombres pérfidos; sus sacerdotes contaminaron el santuario; falsearon la ley.

5 The just LORD is in the midst thereof; he will not do iniquity: every morning doth he bring his judgment to light, he faileth not; but the unjust knoweth no shame.

5 Jehová en medio de ella es justo; no hará iniquidad; cada mañana sacará a luz su juicio, sin falta, pero el perverso no conoce la vergüenza.

6 I have cut off the nations: their towers are desolate; I made their streets waste, that none passeth by: their cities are destroyed, so that there is no man, that there is none inhabitant.

6 He talado naciones; sus torres están desoladas; he dejado desiertas sus calles hasta no quedar quien pase. Sus ciudades han quedado destruidas hasta no quedar hombre alguno, hasta no quedar morador.

7 I said, Surely thou wilt fear me, thou wilt receive instruction; so their dwelling should not be cut off, howsoever I punished them: but they rose early, and corrupted all their doings.

7 Dije: Ciertamente me temerás; recibirás corrección. Y no será destruida su morada según todo aquello por lo cual la castigué. Mas ellos madrugaron para corromper todas sus obras.

8 Therefore wait ye upon me, saith the LORD, until the day that I rise up to the prey: for my determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them mine indignation, even all my fierce anger: for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of my jealousy.

8 Por tanto, esperadme, dice Jehová, hasta el día en que me levante para el despojo, porque mi determinación es reunir las naciones y juntar los reinos para derramar sobre ellos mi enojo, todo el furor de mi ira; porque por el fuego de mi celo será consumida toda la tierra.

9 For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of the LORD, to serve him with one consent.

9 Porque en aquel entonces devolveré yo a los pueblos un lenguaje puro para que todos invoquen el nombre de Jehová, para que le sirvan de común acuerdo.

10 From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia my suppliants, even the daughter of my dispersed, shall bring mine offering.

10 Desde la región más allá de los ríos de Etiopía, mis suplicantes, la hija de mis esparcidos, traerán mi ofrenda.

11 In that day shalt thou not be ashamed for all thy doings, wherein thou hast transgressed against me: for then I will take away out of the midst of thee them that rejoice in thy pride, and thou shalt no more be haughty because of my holy mountain.

11 En aquel día no serás avergonzada por ninguna de tus obras con que te rebelaste contra mí, porque entonces quitaré de en medio de ti a los que se alegran en tu soberbia, y nunca más te ensoberbecerás en mi santo monte.

12 I will also leave in the midst of thee an afflicted and poor people, and they shall trust in the name of the LORD.

12 Y dejaré en medio de ti un pueblo humilde y pobre, el cual se refugiará en el nombre de Jehová.

13 The remnant of Israel shall not do iniquity, nor speak lies; neither shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth: for they shall feed and lie down, and none shall make them afraid.

13 El remanente de Israel no cometerá iniquidad ni dirá mentira, ni en boca de ellos se hallará lengua engañosa, porque ellos serán apacentados y reposarán, y no habrá quien los espante.

14 Sing, O daughter of Zion; shout, O Israel; be glad and rejoice with all the heart, O daughter of Jerusalem.

14 ¡Canta, oh hija de Sion! ¡Da voces de júbilo, oh Israel! ¡Alégrate y regocíjate de todo corazón, oh hija de Jerusalén!

15 The LORD hath taken away thy judgments, he hath cast out thine enemy: the king of Israel, even the LORD, is in the midst of thee: thou shalt not see evil any more.

15 Jehová ha retirado tus juicios; ha echado fuera tus enemigos; Jehová es Rey de Israel en medio de ti; nunca más temerás mal alguno.

16 In that day it shall be said to Jerusalem, Fear thou not: and to Zion, Let not thine hands be slack.

16 En aquel tiempo se dirá a Jerusalén: No temas, Sion; no se debiliten tus manos.

17 The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.

17 Jehová tu Dios está en medio de ti: ¡Él es poderoso! ¡Él salvará! Se regocijará por ti con alegría; guardará silencio por su amor; se regocijará por ti con cánticos.

18 I will gather them that are sorrowful for the solemn assembly, who are of thee, to whom the reproach of it was a burden.

18 Reuniré a los que se entristecían por las fiestas señaladas; tuyos fueron; para quienes el oprobio era una carga.

19 Behold, at that time I will undo all that afflict thee: and I will save her that halteth, and gather her that was driven out; and I will get them praise and fame in every land where they have been put to shame.

19 He aquí, en aquel tiempo me ocuparé de todos tus opresores; y salvaré a la que cojea y recogeré a la desterrada; y cambiaré su vergüenza en alabanza y en renombre en todo país.

20 At that time will I bring you again, even in the time that I gather you: for I will make you a name and a praise among all people of the earth, when I turn back your captivity before your eyes, saith the LORD.

20 En aquel tiempo yo os traeré; en aquel tiempo os reuniré yo. Pues os haré objeto de renombre y de alabanza entre todos los pueblos de la tierra, cuando haga volver a vuestros cautivos ante vuestros propios ojos, dice Jehová.
