1 Praise ye the LORD. O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

1 ¡Aleluya! Alabad a Jehová, porque él es bueno, porque para siempre es su misericordia.

2 Who can utter the mighty acts of the LORD? who can shew forth all his praise?

2 ¿Quién expresará las obras poderosas de Jehová? ¿Quién contará sus alabanzas?

3 Blessed are they that keep judgment, and he that doeth righteousness at all times.

3 Bienaventurados los que guardan el juicio, los que hacen justicia en todo tiempo.

4 Remember me, O LORD, with the favour that thou bearest unto thy people: O visit me with thy salvation;

4 Acuérdate de mí, oh Jehová, según tu benevolencia para con tu pueblo; visítame con tu salvación,

5 That I may see the good of thy chosen, that I may rejoice in the gladness of thy nation, that I may glory with thine inheritance.

5 para que yo vea el bien de tus escogidos, para que me regocije en la alegría de tu nación y me gloríe con tu heredad.

6 We have sinned with our fathers, we have committed iniquity, we have done wickedly.

6 Hemos pecado como nuestros padres; hemos hecho iniquidad; hemos cometido impiedad.

7 Our fathers understood not thy wonders in Egypt; they remembered not the multitude of thy mercies; but provoked him at the sea, even at the Red sea.

7 Nuestros padres en Egipto no entendieron tus maravillas; no se acordaron de la multitud de tus misericordias, sino que se rebelaron junto al mar, el mar Rojo.

8 Nevertheless he saved them for his name's sake, that he might make his mighty power to be known.

8 Pero los salvó por amor de su nombre, para dar a conocer su poder.

9 He rebuked the Red sea also, and it was dried up: so he led them through the depths, as through the wilderness.

9 Y reprendió al mar Rojo, y se secó; y los hizo ir por el abismo como por un desierto.

10 And he saved them from the hand of him that hated them, and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.

10 Y los salvó de manos del enemigo, y los rescató de manos del adversario.

11 And the waters covered their enemies: there was not one of them left.

11 Y las aguas cubrieron a sus enemigos; no quedó ni uno de ellos.

12 Then believed they his words; they sang his praise.

12 Entonces creyeron sus palabras, y cantaron su alabanza.

13 They soon forgat his works; they waited not for his counsel:

13 Bien pronto olvidaron sus obras; no esperaron su consejo.

14 But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God in the desert.

14 Se entregaron a un deseo desenfrenado en el desierto, y tentaron a Dios en el yermo.

15 And he gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul.

15 Y él les dio lo que pidieron, pero envió flaqueza en sus almas.

16 They envied Moses also in the camp, and Aaron the saint of the LORD.

16 Tuvieron envidia de Moisés en el campamento, y de Aarón, el santo de Jehová.

17 The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, and covered the company of Abiram.

17 Se abrió la tierra y tragó a Datán, y cubrió al grupo de Abiram.

18 And a fire was kindled in their company; the flame burned up the wicked.

18 Y se encendió fuego contra su grupo; la llama consumió a los malvados.

19 They made a calf in Horeb, and worshipped the molten image.

19 Hicieron un becerro en Horeb, y adoraron una imagen de fundición.

20 Thus they changed their glory into the similitude of an ox that eateth grass.

20 Así cambiaron su gloria por la imagen de un toro que come hierba.

21 They forgat God their saviour, which had done great things in Egypt;

21 Olvidaron a Dios, su Salvador, que había hecho grandes cosas en Egipto,

22 Wondrous works in the land of Ham, and terrible things by the Red sea.

22 maravillas en la tierra de Cam, cosas formidables junto al mar Rojo.

23 Therefore he said that he would destroy them, had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, to turn away his wrath, lest he should destroy them.

23 Y dijo que los habría destruido de no haberse interpuesto Moisés, su escogido, en la brecha delante de él, a fin de apartar su ira para que no los destruyese.

24 Yea, they despised the pleasant land, they believed not his word:

24 Sin embargo, aborrecieron la tierra deseable; no creyeron en su palabra,

25 But murmured in their tents, and hearkened not unto the voice of the LORD.

25 sino que murmuraron en sus tiendas, y no escucharon la voz de Jehová.

26 Therefore he lifted up his hand against them, to overthrow them in the wilderness:

26 Por tanto, él alzó su mano contra ellos, para derribarlos en el desierto,

27 To overthrow their seed also among the nations, and to scatter them in the lands.

27 y abatir a sus descendientes entre las naciones, y dispersarlos por las tierras.

28 They joined themselves also unto Baal-peor, and ate the sacrifices of the dead.

28 Se unieron asimismo a Baal-peor y comieron de lo sacrificado a los muertos.

29 Thus they provoked him to anger with their inventions: and the plague brake in upon them.

29 Y provocaron la ira de Dios con sus obras, y se desató la mortandad entre ellos.

30 Then stood up Phinehas, and executed judgment: and so the plague was stayed.

30 Entonces se levantó Finees y ejecutó juicio, y se detuvo la plaga.

31 And that was counted unto him for righteousness unto all generations for evermore.

31 Y le fue contado por justicia, de generación en generación para siempre.

32 They angered him also at the waters of strife, so that it went ill with Moses for their sakes:

32 También le causaron enojo en las aguas de Meriba, y le fue mal a Moisés por causa de ellos,

33 Because they provoked his spirit, so that he spake unadvisedly with his lips.

33 porque hicieron que se amargase su espíritu, y habló precipitadamente con sus labios.

34 They did not destroy the nations, concerning whom the LORD commanded them:

34 No destruyeron a los pueblos como Jehová les había mandado,

35 But were mingled among the heathen, and learned their works.

35 sino que se mezclaron con las naciones, y aprendieron sus obras

36 And they served their idols: which were a snare unto them.

36 y sirvieron a sus ídolos, los cuales les fueron por tropiezo.

37 Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils,

37 Y sacrificaron a sus hijos y a sus hijas a los demonios,

38 And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood.

38 y derramaron sangre inocente, la sangre de sus hijos y de sus hijas, que sacrificaron a los ídolos de Canaán; y la tierra fue contaminada con sangre.

39 Thus were they defiled with their own works, and went a whoring with their own inventions.

39 Se contaminaron así con sus obras, y se prostituyeron con sus hechos.

40 Therefore was the wrath of the LORD kindled against his people, insomuch that he abhorred his own inheritance.

40 Se encendió, por tanto, la ira de Jehová sobre su pueblo, y aborreció su heredad.

41 And he gave them into the hand of the heathen; and they that hated them ruled over them.

41 Y los entregó en manos de las naciones, y los que los aborrecían se enseñorearon de ellos.

42 Their enemies also oppressed them, and they were brought into subjection under their hand.

42 Y sus enemigos los oprimieron, y fueron subyugados bajo su mano.

43 Many times did he deliver them; but they provoked him with their counsel, and were brought low for their iniquity.

43 Muchas veces los libró, mas ellos fueron rebeldes en su propio consejo, y fueron humillados por su iniquidad.

44 Nevertheless he regarded their affliction, when he heard their cry:

44 Él, con todo, miraba cuando estaban en angustia y oía su clamor;

45 And he remembered for them his covenant, and repented according to the multitude of his mercies.

45 y se acordaba de su convenio con ellos, y tenía compasión conforme a sus muchas misericordias.

46 He made them also to be pitied of all those that carried them captives.

46 Asimismo, hizo que tuviesen misericordia de ellos todos los que los tenían cautivos.

47 Save us, O LORD our God, and gather us from among the heathen, to give thanks unto thy holy name, and to triumph in thy praise.

47 Sálvanos, oh Jehová, Dios nuestro, y recógenos de entre las naciones, para que alabemos tu santo nombre, para que nos gloriemos en tus alabanzas.

48 Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting: and let all the people say, Amen. Praise ye the LORD.

48 Bendito sea Jehová, Dios de Israel, de eternidad en eternidad; y diga todo el pueblo: Amén. ¡Aleluya!
