1 Why standest thou afar off, O LORD? why hidest thou thyself in times of trouble?

1 ¿Por qué estás lejos, oh Jehová, y te escondes en tiempos de tribulación?

2 The wicked in his pride doth persecute the poor: let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined.

2 Con arrogancia el malo persigue al pobre; sean atrapados en los artificios que han ideado.

3 For the wicked boasteth of his heart's desire, and blesseth the covetous, whom the LORD abhorreth.

3 Porque el malo se jacta del deseo de su alma, y bendice al codicioso y desprecia a Jehová.

4 The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.

4 El malo, por la altivez de su rostro, no busca a Dios; no está Dios en ninguno de sus pensamientos.

5 His ways are always grievous; thy judgments are far above out of his sight: as for all his enemies, he puffeth at them.

5 Sus caminos son torcidos en todo tiempo; tus juicios los tiene muy lejos de su vista; a todos sus adversarios desprecia.

6 He hath said in his heart, I shall not be moved: for I shall never be in adversity.

6 Dice en su corazón: No seré sacudido jamás, ni nunca me alcanzará la adversidad.

7 His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud: under his tongue is mischief and vanity.

7 Llena está su boca de maldición, y de engaños y de fraude; debajo de su lengua hay maldad e iniquidad.

8 He sitteth in the lurking places of the villages: in the secret places doth he murder the innocent: his eyes are privily set against the poor.

8 Se sienta al acecho en las aldeas; en los escondrijos mata al inocente. Sus ojos acechan al desvalido.

9 He lieth in wait secretly as a lion in his den: he lieth in wait to catch the poor: he doth catch the poor, when he draweth him into his net.

9 Acecha en lo oculto, como el león desde su guarida; acecha para atrapar al pobre; atrapa al pobre trayéndolo a su red.

10 He croucheth, and humbleth himself, that the poor may fall by his strong ones.

10 Se encoge, se agazapa, y caen en sus fuertes garras muchos desdichados.

11 He hath said in his heart, God hath forgotten: he hideth his face; he will never see it.

11 Dice en su corazón: Dios ha olvidado; ha encubierto su rostro; nunca lo verá.

12 Arise, O LORD; O God, lift up thine hand: forget not the humble.

12 ¡Levántate, oh Jehová; oh Dios, alza tu mano! No te olvides de los pobres.

13 Wherefore doth the wicked contemn God? he hath said in his heart, Thou wilt not require it.

13 ¿Por qué desprecia el malo a Dios? En su corazón ha dicho: Tú no habrás de pedir cuentas.

14 Thou hast seen it; for thou beholdest mischief and spite, to requite it with thy hand: the poor committeth himself unto thee; thou art the helper of the fatherless.

14 Tú lo has visto, porque tú miras la maldad y la vejación, para dar la recompensa con tu mano; a ti se acoge el desvalido; tú eres el amparo del huérfano.

15 Break thou the arm of the wicked and the evil man: seek out his wickedness till thou find none.

15 Quiebra el brazo del inicuo y del malvado; persigue su maldad hasta que no halles ninguna.

16 The LORD is King for ever and ever: the heathen are perished out of his land.

16 Jehová es Rey de eternidad en eternidad; las naciones han desaparecido de su tierra.

17 LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:

17 El deseo de los humildes has oído, oh Jehová; tú dispondrás su corazón e inclinarás tu oído,

18 To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may no more oppress.

18 para juzgar al huérfano y al oprimido, a fin de que no vuelva más a sembrar el terror el hombre de la tierra.
