1 He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.

1 El hombre que, al ser reprendido, endurece la cerviz, de repente será quebrantado, y no habrá remedio para él.

2 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.

2 Cuando los justos abundan, el pueblo se alegra; pero cuando domina el malvado, el pueblo gime.

3 Whoso loveth wisdom rejoiceth his father: but he that keepeth company with harlots spendeth his substance.

3 El hombre que ama la sabiduría alegra a su padre, pero el que frecuenta rameras perderá los bienes.

4 The king by judgment establisheth the land: but he that receiveth gifts overthroweth it.

4 El rey que actúa con justicia afirma el país, pero el hombre que acepta sobornos lo destruye.

5 A man that flattereth his neighbour spreadeth a net for his feet.

5 El hombre que lisonjea a su prójimo le tiende una red delante de sus pasos.

6 In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare: but the righteous doth sing and rejoice.

6 En la transgresión del hombre malo hay trampa, pero el justo canta y se alegra.

7 The righteous considereth the cause of the poor: but the wicked regardeth not to know it.

7 El justo conoce la causa de los pobres, pero el malvado no entiende tal conocimiento.

8 Scornful men bring a city into a snare: but wise men turn away wrath.

8 Los hombres escarnecedores alborotan la ciudad, pero los sabios apartan la ira.

9 If a wise man contendeth with a foolish man, whether he rage or laugh, there is no rest.

9 Si el hombre sabio contiende con el necio, ya sea que se enoje o que se ría, no tendrá reposo.

10 The bloodthirsty hate the upright: but the just seek his soul.

10 Los hombres sanguinarios aborrecen al íntegro, pero los rectos buscan su alma.

11 A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards.

11 El necio da rienda suelta a todo su espíritu, pero el sabio, al fin conteniéndose, lo apacigua.

12 If a ruler hearken to lies, all his servants are wicked.

12 Si el gobernante escucha la palabra mentirosa, todos sus servidores serán malvados.

13 The poor and the deceitful man meet together: the LORD lighteneth both their eyes.

13 El pobre y el opresor tienen en común que Jehová alumbra los ojos de ambos.

14 The king that faithfully judgeth the poor, his throne shall be established for ever.

14 El rey que juzga con verdad a los pobres afirmará su trono para siempre.

15 The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame.

15 La vara y la corrección dan sabiduría, pero el muchacho que se deja suelto avergüenza a su madre.

16 When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increaseth: but the righteous shall see their fall.

16 Cuando aumentan los malvados, aumenta la transgresión; pero los justos verán la ruina de ellos.

17 Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest; yea, he shall give delight unto thy soul.

17 Corrige a tu hijo, y te dará descanso y dará deleite a tu alma.

18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

18 Sin profecía, el pueblo se desenfrena, pero el que guarda la ley es bienaventurado.

19 A servant will not be corrected by words: for though he understand he will not answer.

19 El siervo no se corrige con palabras; aunque entienda, no hace caso.

20 Seest thou a man that is hasty in his words? there is more hope of a fool than of him.

20 ¿Ves a un hombre precipitado en sus palabras? Más esperanza hay del necio que de él.

21 He that delicately bringeth up his servant from a child shall have him become his son at the length.

21 El siervo mimado desde la niñez por su amo, a la postre será su hijo.

22 An angry man stirreth up strife, and a furious man aboundeth in transgression.

22 El hombre iracundo provoca contiendas, y el furioso abunda en transgresiones.

23 A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.

23 La soberbia del hombre le abate, pero el humilde de espíritu recibirá honor.

24 Whoso is partner with a thief hateth his own soul: he heareth cursing, and bewrayeth it not.

24 El cómplice del ladrón aborrece su propia alma; oye la maldición y no dice nada.

25 The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.

25 El temor del hombre tiende trampas, pero el que confía en Jehová será exaltado.

26 Many seek the ruler's favour; but every man's judgment cometh from the LORD.

26 Muchos buscan el favor del gobernante, pero de Jehová viene el juicio para cada uno.

27 An unjust man is an abomination to the just: and he that is upright in the way is abomination to the wicked.

27 Abominación a los justos es el hombre inicuo, y abominación al malvado es el de camino recto.
