1 The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.

1 Huye el malvado sin que nadie lo persiga, pero el justo está confiado como un leoncillo.

2 For the transgression of a land many are the princes thereof: but by a man of understanding and knowledge the state thereof shall be prolonged.

2 Por la transgresión de la tierra sus príncipes son muchos, pero por el hombre entendido y sabio permanecerá.

3 A poor man that oppresseth the poor is like a sweeping rain which leaveth no food.

3 El hombre pobre que oprime a los débiles es como lluvia torrencial que deja sin pan.

4 They that forsake the law praise the wicked: but such as keep the law contend with them.

4 Los que dejan la ley alaban a los malvados, pero los que guardan la ley contienden contra ellos.

5 Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the LORD understand all things.

5 Los hombres malos no entienden de justicia, pero los que buscan a Jehová entienden todas las cosas.

6 Better is the poor that walketh in his uprightness, than he that is perverse in his ways, though he be rich.

6 Mejor es el pobre que camina en su integridad que el rico que anda en perversos caminos.

7 Whoso keepeth the law is a wise son: but he that is a companion of riotous men shameth his father.

7 El que guarda la ley es hijo prudente, pero el que es compañero de glotones avergüenza a su padre.

8 He that by usury and unjust gain increaseth his substance, he shall gather it for him that will pity the poor.

8 El que aumenta sus riquezas con usura y crecido interés, las acumula para el que se apiada de los pobres.

9 He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.

9 El que aparta su oído para no oír la ley, aun su oración es abominación.

10 Whoso causeth the righteous to go astray in an evil way, he shall fall himself into his own pit: but the upright shall have good things in possession.

10 El que hace errar a los rectos por el mal camino, caerá en su propia fosa, pero los íntegros heredarán el bien.

11 The rich man is wise in his own conceit; but the poor that hath understanding searcheth him out.

11 El hombre rico es sabio en su propia opinión, pero el pobre que es entendido le escudriña.

12 When righteous men do rejoice, there is great glory: but when the wicked rise, a man is hidden.

12 Cuando los justos se alegran, grande es la gloria; pero cuando los malvados se levantan, se esconden los hombres.

13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

13 El que encubre sus pecados no prosperará, pero el que los confiesa y los abandona alcanzará misericordia.

14 Happy is the man that feareth alway: but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into mischief.

14 Bienaventurado el hombre que siempre teme a Dios, pero el que endurece su corazón caerá en el mal.

15 As a roaring lion, and a ranging bear; so is a wicked ruler over the poor people.

15 Cual león rugiente y oso hambriento es el gobernante malvado sobre el pueblo pobre.

16 The prince that wanteth understanding is also a great oppressor: but he that hateth covetousness shall prolong his days.

16 El príncipe falto de entendimiento multiplicará los agravios, pero el que aborrece la avaricia prolongará sus días.

17 A man that doeth violence to the blood of any person shall flee to the pit; let no man stay him.

17 El hombre cargado con culpa de sangre de otra persona huirá hasta el sepulcro sin que nadie le apoye.

18 Whoso walketh uprightly shall be saved: but he that is perverse in his ways shall fall at once.

18 El que en integridad camina será salvo, pero el de perversos caminos caerá en alguno de ellos.

19 He that tilleth his land shall have plenty of bread: but he that followeth after vain persons shall have poverty enough.

19 El que labra su tierra se saciará de pan, pero el que sigue a los ociosos se llenará de pobreza.

20 A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent.

20 El hombre fiel tendrá muchas bendiciones, pero el que se apresura a enriquecerse no quedará sin culpa.

21 To have respect of persons is not good: for for a piece of bread that man will transgress.

21 Hacer acepción de personas no es bueno; hasta por un bocado de pan transgredirá el hombre.

22 He that hasteth to be rich hath an evil eye, and considereth not that poverty shall come upon him.

22 Se apresura a ser rico el hombre maligno de ojo, y no sabe que le ha de venir la pobreza.

23 He that rebuketh a man afterwards shall find more favour than he that flattereth with the tongue.

23 El que reprende al hombre hallará después mayor gracia que el que lisonjea con la lengua.

24 Whoso robbeth his father or his mother, and saith, It is no transgression; the same is the companion of a destroyer.

24 El que roba a su padre o a su madre, y dice que no es maldad, compañero es del hombre destructor.

25 He that is of a proud heart stirreth up strife: but he that putteth his trust in the LORD shall be made fat.

25 El altivo de ánimo suscita contiendas, pero el que confía en Jehová prosperará.

26 He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.

26 El que confía en su corazón es necio, pero el que camina con sabiduría será salvo.

27 He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack: but he that hideth his eyes shall have many a curse.

27 El que da al pobre no tendrá pobreza, pero el que aparta de él sus ojos tendrá muchas maldiciones.

28 When the wicked rise, men hide themselves: but when they perish, the righteous increase.

28 Cuando los malvados se levantan, se esconden los hombres; pero cuando perecen, los justos se multiplican.
