1 The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.

1 Como los ríos de agua, así está el corazón del rey en la mano de Jehová; a todo lo que quiere lo inclina.

2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts.

2 Todo camino del hombre es recto ante sus propios ojos, pero Jehová pesa los corazones.

3 To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.

3 Hacer justicia y juicio es para Jehová más agradable que el sacrificio.

4 An high look, and a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked, is sin.

4 La altivez de ojos, y el orgullo del corazón y el barbecho de los malvados son pecado.

5 The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want.

5 Los pensamientos del diligente ciertamente van a la abundancia, pero todo el que se apresura, indefectiblemente va a la pobreza.

6 The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a vanity tossed to and fro of them that seek death.

6 Acumular tesoros con lengua mentirosa es vanidad fugaz de los que buscan la muerte.

7 The robbery of the wicked shall destroy them; because they refuse to do judgment.

7 La rapiña de los malvados los destruirá, por cuanto no quisieron hacer juicio.

8 The way of man is froward and strange: but as for the pure, his work is right.

8 El camino del hombre perverso es torcido y extraño; mas la conducta del puro es recta.

9 It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house.

9 Mejor es vivir en un rincón del terrado que con mujer rencillosa en casa espaciosa.

10 The soul of the wicked desireth evil: his neighbour findeth no favour in his eyes.

10 El alma del malvado desea el mal; su prójimo no halla favor ante sus ojos.

11 When the scorner is punished, the simple is made wise: and when the wise is instructed, he receiveth knowledge.

11 Cuando el escarnecedor es castigado, el ingenuo se hace sabio; y cuando se instruye al sabio, este adquiere conocimiento.

12 The righteous man wisely considereth the house of the wicked: but God overthroweth the wicked for their wickedness.

12 Considera el justo la casa del malvado, cómo los malvados son trastornados por el mal.

13 Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard.

13 El que cierra su oído al clamor del pobre también clamará y no será oído.

14 A gift in secret pacifieth anger: and a reward in the bosom strong wrath.

14 El regalo en secreto calma el furor; y el soborno en el seno, la fuerte ira.

15 It is joy to the just to do judgment: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.

15 Alegría es al justo hacer juicio, pero destrucción a los que hacen iniquidad.

16 The man that wandereth out of the way of understanding shall remain in the congregation of the dead.

16 El hombre que se aparta del camino del entendimiento irá a parar en la congregación de los muertos.

17 He that loveth pleasure shall be a poor man: he that loveth wine and oil shall not be rich.

17 Hombre pobre será el que ama el deleite, y el que ama el vino y los ungüentos no se enriquecerá.

18 The wicked shall be a ransom for the righteous, and the transgressor for the upright.

18 El rescate por el justo será el malvado, y por los rectos, el transgresor.

19 It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry woman.

19 Mejor es morar en tierra desierta que con mujer rencillosa e iracunda.

20 There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man spendeth it up.

20 Tesoro deseable y aceite hay en la casa del sabio, pero el hombre insensato todo lo disipa.

21 He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour.

21 El que sigue la justicia y la misericordia hallará la vida, la justicia y la honra.

22 A wise man scaleth the city of the mighty, and casteth down the strength of the confidence thereof.

22 La ciudad de los poderosos tomó el sabio y derribó la fuerza en que ella confiaba.

23 Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.

23 El que guarda su boca y su lengua, su alma guarda de angustias.

24 Proud and haughty scorner is his name, who dealeth in proud wrath.

24 Soberbio y presuntuoso escarnecedor es el nombre del que actúa con insolente orgullo.

25 The desire of the slothful killeth him; for his hands refuse to labour.

25 El deseo del perezoso le mata, porque sus manos no quieren trabajar.

26 He coveteth greedily all the day long: but the righteous giveth and spareth not.

26 El codicioso codicia todo el día, pero el justo da y no retiene.

27 The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination: how much more, when he bringeth it with a wicked mind?

27 El sacrificio de los malvados es abominación, ¡cuánto más ofreciéndolo con maldad!

28 A false witness shall perish: but the man that heareth speaketh constantly.

28 El testigo falso perecerá, pero el habla del hombre que oye permanecerá.

29 A wicked man hardeneth his face: but as for the upright, he directeth his way.

29 El hombre malvado endurece su rostro, pero el recto asegura sus caminos.

30 There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD.

30 No hay sabiduría, ni entendimiento ni consejo contra Jehová.

31 The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the LORD.

31 El caballo se prepara para el día de la batalla, pero de Jehová es la victoria.
