1 Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.

1 Mejor es el pobre que camina en su integridad que el de perversos labios y necio.

2 Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good; and he that hasteth with his feet sinneth.

2 Tampoco es bueno que un alma no tenga conocimiento, y el que se apresura con los pies peca.

3 The foolishness of man perverteth his way: and his heart fretteth against the LORD.

3 La insensatez del hombre pervierte su camino, y contra Jehová se irrita su corazón.

4 Wealth maketh many friends; but the poor is separated from his neighbour.

4 Las riquezas atraen muchos amigos, pero el pobre es apartado de su amigo.

5 A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall not escape.

5 El testigo falso no quedará sin castigo, y el que habla mentiras no escapará.

6 Many will entreat the favour of the prince: and every man is a friend to him that giveth gifts.

6 Muchos imploran el favor del príncipe, y todos son amigos del hombre que da regalos.

7 All the brethren of the poor do hate him: how much more do his friends go far from him? he pursueth them with words, yet they are wanting to him.

7 Todos los hermanos del pobre le aborrecen, ¡cuánto más sus amigos se alejarán de él! Los buscará para hablarles y no los hallará.

8 He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul: he that keepeth understanding shall find good.

8 El que adquiere entendimiento ama su alma; el que guarda el entendimiento hallará el bien.

9 A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall perish.

9 El testigo falso no quedará sin castigo, y el que habla mentiras perecerá.

10 Delight is not seemly for a fool; much less for a servant to have rule over princes.

10 No conviene al necio el deleite, ¡cuánto menos al siervo ser señor de los príncipes!

11 The discretion of a man deferreth his anger; and it is his glory to pass over a transgression.

11 La prudencia del hombre detiene su furor, y su honra es pasar por alto la ofensa.

12 The king's wrath is as the roaring of a lion; but his favour is as dew upon the grass.

12 Como el rugido del león es la ira del rey, y su favor, como el rocío sobre la hierba.

13 A foolish son is the calamity of his father: and the contentions of a wife are a continual dropping.

13 El hijo necio es la ruina de su padre; y gotera continua, las contiendas de la esposa.

14 House and riches are the inheritance of fathers: and a prudent wife is from the LORD.

14 La casa y las riquezas herencia son de los padres, mas la esposa prudente proviene de Jehová.

15 Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep; and an idle soul shall suffer hunger.

15 La pereza hace caer en sueño profundo, y el alma negligente padecerá hambre.

16 He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his own soul; but he that despiseth his ways shall die.

16 El que guarda el mandamiento guarda su alma; el que menosprecia sus caminos morirá.

17 He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.

17 A Jehová presta el que se apiada del pobre, y él le recompensará por su buena obra.

18 Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying.

18 Corrige a tu hijo mientras haya esperanza, mas no se altere tu alma para destruirlo.

19 A man of great wrath shall suffer punishment: for if thou deliver him, yet thou must do it again.

19 El de gran ira llevará el castigo, y si lo libras, tendrás que hacerlo de nuevo.

20 Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end.

20 Escucha el consejo y acepta la corrección, para que seas sabio en tu vejez.

21 There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand.

21 Muchos planes hay en el corazón del hombre, pero el consejo de Jehová permanecerá.

22 The desire of a man is his kindness: and a poor man is better than a liar.

22 Contentamiento es a los hombres hacer misericordia, y mejor es ser pobre que ser mentiroso.

23 The fear of the LORD tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.

23 El temor de Jehová lleva a la vida; y el que lo tiene vivirá lleno de reposo; no será visitado por el mal.

24 A slothful man hideth his hand in his bosom, and will not so much as bring it to his mouth again.

24 El perezoso mete su mano en el plato, pero ni aun a su boca la llevará.

25 Smite a scorner, and the simple will beware: and reprove one that hath understanding, and he will understand knowledge.

25 Golpea al escarnecedor, y el ingenuo se hará astuto; pero reprende al entendido, y este discernirá el conocimiento.

26 He that wasteth his father, and chaseth away his mother, is a son that causeth shame, and bringeth reproach.

26 El que asalta a su padre y ahuyenta a su madre es un hijo que causa vergüenza y acarrea oprobio.

27 Cease, my son, to hear the instruction that causeth to err from the words of knowledge.

27 Cesa, hijo mío, de oír la enseñanza que te desvía de las palabras del conocimiento.

28 An ungodly witness scorneth judgment: and the mouth of the wicked devoureth iniquity.

28 El testigo perverso se burla del juicio, y la boca de los malvados traga la iniquidad.

29 Judgments are prepared for scorners, and stripes for the back of fools.

29 Establecidos están los juicios para los escarnecedores, y azotes para las espaldas de los insensatos.
