1 Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish.

1 El que ama la disciplina ama el conocimiento, pero el que aborrece la reprensión es un necio.

2 A good man obtaineth favour of the LORD: but a man of wicked devices will he condemn.

2 El bueno alcanzará el favor de Jehová, mas él condenará al hombre de malos pensamientos.

3 A man shall not be established by wickedness: but the root of the righteous shall not be moved.

3 El hombre no se afirmará por medio de la maldad, pero la raíz de los justos no será removida.

4 A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones.

4 La mujer virtuosa es corona de su marido, pero la que lo avergüenza es como podredumbre en sus huesos.

5 The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit.

5 Los pensamientos de los justos son justicia; los consejos de los malvados, engaño.

6 The words of the wicked are to lie in wait for blood: but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them.

6 Las palabras de los malvados son acechanzas para derramar sangre, pero la boca de los rectos los librará.

7 The wicked are overthrown, and are not: but the house of the righteous shall stand.

7 Los malvados son derribados y ya no existen, pero la casa de los justos permanecerá firme.

8 A man shall be commended according to his wisdom: but he that is of a perverse heart shall be despised.

8 Según su sabiduría será alabado el hombre, pero el perverso de corazón será despreciado.

9 He that is despised, and hath a servant, is better than he that honoureth himself, and lacketh bread.

9 Más vale el menospreciado que tiene quien le sirva que el que se jacta y carece de pan.

10 A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.

10 El justo cuida de la vida de su bestia, pero los sentimientos de los malvados son crueles.

11 He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread: but he that followeth vain persons is void of understanding.

11 El que labra su tierra se saciará de pan, pero el que va tras lo vano es falto de entendimiento.

12 The wicked desireth the net of evil men: but the root of the righteous yieldeth fruit.

12 Desea el malvado la red de los malos, pero la raíz de los justos dará fruto.

13 The wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips: but the just shall come out of trouble.

13 El malvado se enreda en la transgresión de sus labios, pero el justo saldrá de la tribulación.

14 A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth: and the recompence of a man's hands shall be rendered unto him.

14 Por el fruto de su boca el hombre se saciará de bien, y volverá a él la recompensa de sus manos.

15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.

15 El camino del necio es recto ante sus propios ojos, pero el que escucha el consejo es sabio.

16 A fool's wrath is presently known: but a prudent man covereth shame.

16 El necio al punto da a conocer su ira, pero el prudente disimula la ignominia.

17 He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit.

17 El que dice la verdad declara justicia, pero el testigo falso, engaño.

18 There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health.

18 Hay quien habla como dando estocadas de espada, pero la lengua de los sabios es medicina.

19 The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment.

19 El labio veraz permanecerá para siempre; pero la lengua mentirosa, solo por un momento.

20 Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellors of peace is joy.

20 Engaño hay en el corazón de los que maquinan el mal, pero alegría en el de los que aconsejan el bien.

21 There shall no evil happen to the just: but the wicked shall be filled with mischief.

21 Ningún mal le acontecerá al justo, pero los malvados serán colmados de males.

22 Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly are his delight.

22 Los labios mentirosos son abominación a Jehová, pero los que actúan con verdad son su deleite.

23 A prudent man concealeth knowledge: but the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness.

23 El hombre prudente disimula el conocimiento, pero el corazón de los necios proclama la necedad.

24 The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.

24 La mano de los diligentes gobernará, pero la negligencia será tributaria.

25 Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad.

25 La congoja en el corazón del hombre lo abate, pero la buena palabra lo alegra.

26 The righteous is more excellent than his neighbour: but the way of the wicked seduceth them.

26 El justo es guía para su prójimo, pero el camino de los malvados los hace errar.

27 The slothful man roasteth not that which he took in hunting: but the substance of a diligent man is precious.

27 El perezoso no asará lo que ha cazado, pero la posesión del hombre diligente es preciosa.

28 In the way of righteousness is life; and in the pathway thereof there is no death.

28 En el camino de la justicia está la vida, y en su senda no hay muerte.
