1 And Balaam said unto Balak, Build me here seven altars, and prepare me here seven oxen and seven rams.

1 Y Balaam dijo a Balac: Edifícame aquí siete altares, y prepárame aquí siete becerros y siete carneros.

2 And Balak did as Balaam had spoken; and Balak and Balaam offered on every altar a bullock and a ram.

2 Y Balac hizo como le dijo Balaam, y ofrecieron Balac y Balaam un becerro y un carnero en cada altar.

3 And Balaam said unto Balak, Stand by thy burnt offering, and I will go: peradventure the LORD will come to meet me: and whatsoever he sheweth me I will tell thee. And he went to an high place.

3 Y Balaam dijo a Balac: Ponte junto a tu holocausto, y yo iré; quizá Jehová salga a mi encuentro, y cualquier cosa que me muestre, te la comunicaré. Y se fue a un lugar alto y desolado.

4 And God met Balaam: and he said unto him, I have prepared seven altars, and I have offered upon every altar a bullock and a ram.

4 Y salió Dios al encuentro de Balaam, y este le dijo: Siete altares he preparado, y en cada altar he ofrecido un becerro y un carnero.

5 And the LORD put a word in Balaam's mouth, and said, Return unto Balak, and thus thou shalt speak.

5 Y Jehová puso palabra en la boca de Balaam y le dijo: Vuelve a Balac y así hablarás.

6 And he returned unto him, and, lo, he stood by his burnt sacrifice, he, and all the princes of Moab.

6 Y volvió a él, y he aquí que estaba junto a su holocausto, él y todos los príncipes de Moab.

7 And he took up his parable, and said, Balak the king of Moab hath brought me from Aram, out of the mountains of the east, saying, Come, curse me Jacob, and come, defy Israel.

7 Y él tomó su parábola y dijo: De Aram me trajo Balac, rey de Moab, de los montes del oriente; ven, maldíceme a Jacob; y ven, execra a Israel.

8 How shall I curse, whom God hath not cursed? or how shall I defy, whom the LORD hath not defied?

8 ¿Por qué he de maldecir yo al que Dios no maldijo? ¿Y por qué he de execrar al que Jehová no ha execrado?

9 For from the top of the rocks I see him, and from the hills I behold him: lo, the people shall dwell alone, and shall not be reckoned among the nations.

9 Porque desde la cumbre de las peñas lo veré, y desde los collados lo miraré; he aquí un pueblo que habitará aparte, y no será contado entre las naciones.

10 Who can count the dust of Jacob, and the number of the fourth part of Israel? Let me die the death of the righteous, and let my last end be like his!

10 ¿Quién contará el polvo de Jacob, o el número de la cuarta parte de Israel? ¡Muera yo la muerte de los rectos, y sea mi fin como el suyo!

11 And Balak said unto Balaam, What hast thou done unto me? I took thee to curse mine enemies, and, behold, thou hast blessed them altogether.

11 Entonces Balac dijo a Balaam: ¿Qué me has hecho? Te he traído para que maldigas a mis enemigos, y he aquí, ¡los has colmado de bendiciones!

12 And he answered and said, Must I not take heed to speak that which the LORD hath put in my mouth?

12 Y él respondió y dijo: ¿No debo yo tener cuidado de decir lo que Jehová ponga en mi boca?

13 And Balak said unto him, Come, I pray thee, with me unto another place, from whence thou mayest see them: thou shalt see but the utmost part of them, and shalt not see them all: and curse me them from thence.

13 Y dijo Balac: Te ruego que vengas conmigo a otro lugar desde el cual los veas; solamente verás la última parte, y no los verás a todos; y desde allí me los maldecirás.

14 And he brought him into the field of Zophim, to the top of Pisgah, and built seven altars, and offered a bullock and a ram on every altar.

14 Y lo llevó al campo de Zofim, a la cumbre del Pisga, y edificó siete altares y ofreció un becerro y un carnero en cada altar.

15 And he said unto Balak, Stand here by thy burnt offering, while I meet the LORD yonder.

15 Entonces él dijo a Balac: Ponte aquí junto a tu holocausto, y yo iré a encontrarme con Dios allí.

16 And the LORD met Balaam, and put a word in his mouth, and said, Go again unto Balak, and say thus.

16 Y Jehová salió al encuentro de Balaam, y puso palabra en su boca y le dijo: Vuelve a Balac, y así hablarás.

17 And when he came to him, behold, he stood by his burnt offering, and the princes of Moab with him. And Balak said unto him, What hath the LORD spoken?

17 Y volvió a él, y he aquí que estaba junto a su holocausto, y con él los príncipes de Moab; y le dijo Balac: ¿Qué ha dicho Jehová?

18 And he took up his parable, and said, Rise up, Balak, and hear; hearken unto me, thou son of Zippor:

18 Entonces él tomó su parábola y dijo: Balac, levántate y oye; escucha mis palabras, hijo de Zipor:

19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

19 Dios no es hombre, para que mienta, ni hijo de hombre para que se arrepienta. Él lo ha dicho, ¿y no lo hará? Ha hablado, ¿y no lo cumplirá?

20 Behold, I have received commandment to bless: and he hath blessed; and I cannot reverse it.

20 He aquí, yo he recibido mandato de bendecir; y él ha bendecido, y no podré revocarlo.

21 He hath not beheld iniquity in Jacob, neither hath he seen perverseness in Israel: the LORD his God is with him, and the shout of a king is among them.

21 No ha notado iniquidad en Jacob, ni ha visto perversidad en Israel. Jehová, su Dios, está con él, y júbilo de rey está en él.

22 God brought them out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn.

22 Dios los ha sacado de Egipto; tiene fuerzas como de un toro salvaje.

23 Surely there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel: according to this time it shall be said of Jacob and of Israel, What hath God wrought!

23 Porque contra Jacob no hay agüero, ni adivinación contra Israel. Como ahora, será dicho de Jacob y de Israel: ¡Lo que ha hecho Dios!

24 Behold, the people shall rise up as a great lion, and lift up himself as a young lion: he shall not lie down until he eat of the prey, and drink the blood of the slain.

24 He aquí, el pueblo como león se levantará y como cachorro de león se erguirá. No se echará hasta que devore la presa y beba la sangre de los muertos.

25 And Balak said unto Balaam, Neither curse them at all, nor bless them at all.

25 Entonces Balac dijo a Balaam: Ya que no lo maldices, tampoco lo bendigas.

26 But Balaam answered and said unto Balak, Told not I thee, saying, All that the LORD speaketh, that I must do?

26 Y Balaam respondió y dijo a Balac: ¿No te he dicho que todo lo que Jehová me diga, eso tengo que hacer?

27 And Balak said unto Balaam, Come, I pray thee, I will bring thee unto another place; peradventure it will please God that thou mayest curse me them from thence.

27 Y dijo Balac a Balaam: Te ruego que vengas; te llevaré a otro lugar; quizá le parezca bien a Dios que desde allí me los maldigas.

28 And Balak brought Balaam unto the top of Peor, that looketh toward Jeshimon.

28 Y Balac llevó a Balaam a la cumbre del Peor, que mira hacia Jesimón.

29 And Balaam said unto Balak, Build me here seven altars, and prepare me here seven bullocks and seven rams.

29 Entonces Balaam dijo a Balac: Edifícame aquí siete altares, y prepárame aquí siete becerros y siete carneros.

30 And Balak did as Balaam had said, and offered a bullock and a ram on every altar.
