1 And the LORD spake unto Moses and to Aaron, saying unto them,

1 Y habló Jehová a Moisés y a Aarón y les dijo:

2 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, These are the beasts which ye shall eat among all the beasts that are on the earth.

2 Hablad a los hijos de Israel y decidles: Estos son los animales que comeréis de entre todos los animales que hay sobre la tierra.

3 Whatsoever parteth the hoof, and is clovenfooted, and cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that shall ye eat.

3 De entre los animales, todo el de pezuña, y que tiene la pezuña hendida y que rumia, este comeréis.

4 Nevertheless these shall ye not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the hoof: as the camel, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.

4 Pero de los que rumian y de los que tienen pezuña, estos no comeréis: el camello, porque rumia pero no tiene pezuña hendida, lo tendréis por inmundo;

5 And the coney, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.

5 también el conejo, porque rumia pero no tiene pezuña, lo tendréis por inmundo;

6 And the hare, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.

6 asimismo la liebre, porque rumia pero no tiene pezuña, la tendréis por inmunda;

7 And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be clovenfooted, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you.

7 también el cerdo, porque tiene pezuñas y es de pezuñas hendidas, pero no rumia, lo tendréis por inmundo.

8 Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcase shall ye not touch; they are unclean to you.

8 De la carne de ellos no comeréis ni tocaréis su cuerpo muerto; los tendréis por inmundos.

9 These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat.

9 Esto comeréis de todo lo que está en las aguas: todos los que tienen aletas y escamas, ya sea en las aguas del mar o en la de los ríos, estos podréis comer;

10 And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you:

10 pero todos los que no tienen aletas ni escamas, tanto en el mar como en los ríos, así todo reptil de agua como de todo lo viviente que está en las aguas, los tendréis en abominación.

11 They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination.

11 Os serán, pues, abominación; de su carne no comeréis y abominaréis sus cuerpos muertos.

12 Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you.

12 Todo lo que no tuviere aletas y escamas en las aguas lo tendréis en abominación.

13 And these are they which ye shall have in abomination among the fowls; they shall not be eaten, they are an abomination: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the ospray,

13 Y de las aves, estas tendréis en abominación; no se comerán, serán abominación: el águila, el quebrantahuesos, el azor,

14 And the vulture, and the kite after his kind;

14 el milano y el halcón según su especie;

15 Every raven after his kind;

15 todo cuervo según su especie;

16 And the owl, and the night hawk, and the cuckow, and the hawk after his kind,

16 el avestruz, y la lechuza, y la gaviota y el gavilán según su especie;

17 And the little owl, and the cormorant, and the great owl,

17 y el búho, y el somormujo, y el ibis,

18 And the swan, and the pelican, and the gier eagle,

18 y el calamón, y el pelícano, y el buitre,

19 And the stork, the heron after her kind, and the lapwing, and the bat.

19 y la cigüeña, y la garza según su especie, y la abubilla y el murciélago.

20 All fowls that creep, going upon all four, shall be an abomination unto you.

20 Todo insecto alado que ande en cuatro patas lo tendréis en abominación.

21 Yet these may ye eat of every flying creeping thing that goeth upon all four, which have legs above their feet, to leap withal upon the earth;

21 Pero de todo insecto alado que ande en cuatro patas podéis comer los que, además de sus patas, tengan zancas para saltar sobre la tierra;

22 Even these of them ye may eat; the locust after his kind, and the bald locust after his kind, and the beetle after his kind, and the grasshopper after his kind.

22 estos comeréis de ellos: la langosta según su especie, y el langostín según su especie, y el grillo según su especie, y el saltamonte según su especie.

23 But all other flying creeping things, which have four feet, shall be an abomination unto you.

23 Todo otro insecto alado que tenga cuatro patas lo tendréis en abominación.

24 And for these ye shall be unclean: whosoever toucheth the carcase of them shall be unclean until the even.

24 Y por estas cosas seréis inmundos: Cualquiera que toque sus cuerpos muertos quedará impuro hasta el atardecer;

25 And whosoever beareth ought of the carcase of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even.

25 y cualquiera que lleve algo de sus cuerpos muertos lavará sus vestidos y quedará impuro hasta el atardecer.

26 The carcases of every beast which divideth the hoof, and is not clovenfooted, nor cheweth the cud, are unclean unto you: every one that toucheth them shall be unclean.

26 Todo animal de pezuña, pero que no tiene pezuña hendida, ni rumia, lo tendréis por inmundo; cualquiera que los toque quedará impuro.

27 And whatsoever goeth upon his paws, among all manner of beasts that go on all four, those are unclean unto you: whoso toucheth their carcase shall be unclean until the even.

27 Y de todos los animales que andan en cuatro patas, tendréis por inmundo cualquiera que ande sobre sus garras; cualquiera que toque sus cuerpos muertos quedará impuro hasta el atardecer.

28 And he that beareth the carcase of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: they are unclean unto you.

28 Y el que lleve sus cuerpos muertos lavará sus vestidos y quedará impuro hasta el atardecer; los tendréis por impuros.

29 These also shall be unclean unto you among the creeping things that creep upon the earth; the weasel, and the mouse, and the tortoise after his kind,

29 Y tendréis por inmundos a estos animales que se arrastran sobre la tierra: la comadreja, y el ratón, y el lagarto según su especie,

30 And the ferret, and the chameleon, and the lizard, and the snail, and the mole.

30 la salamandra, y el cocodrilo, y la lagartija, y el estinco y el camaleón.

31 These are unclean to you among all that creep: whosoever doth touch them, when they be dead, shall be unclean until the even.

31 Tendréis estos por inmundos entre todos los que se arrastran; cualquiera que los toque cuando estén muertos quedará impuro hasta el atardecer.

32 And upon whatsoever any of them, when they are dead, doth fall, it shall be unclean; whether it be any vessel of wood, or raiment, or skin, or sack, whatsoever vessel it be, wherein any work is done, it must be put into water, and it shall be unclean until the even; so it shall be cleansed.

32 Y todo aquello sobre lo que caiga algo de ellos después de muertos quedará inmundo; ya sea objeto de madera, o vestido, o piel, o saco o cualquier instrumento con el que se trabaja, será metido en agua y quedará inmundo hasta el atardecer; entonces quedará limpio.

33 And every earthen vessel, whereinto any of them falleth, whatsoever is in it shall be unclean; and ye shall break it.

33 Y toda vasija de barro dentro de la cual caiga alguno de ellos, todo lo que esté en ella será inmundo, y quebraréis la vasija.

34 Of all meat which may be eaten, that on which such water cometh shall be unclean: and all drink that may be drunk in every such vessel shall be unclean.

34 Toda vianda que se come que toque el agua de tales vasijas será inmunda, y toda bebida que se beba en todas esas vasijas será inmunda.

35 And every thing whereupon any part of their carcase falleth shall be unclean; whether it be oven, or ranges for pots, they shall be broken down: for they are unclean, and shall be unclean unto you.

35 Y todo aquello sobre lo que caiga algo del cuerpo muerto de ellos será inmundo; el horno u hornillos se derribarán; son inmundos, y por inmundos los tendréis.

36 Nevertheless a fountain or pit, wherein there is plenty of water, shall be clean: but that which toucheth their carcase shall be unclean.

36 Con todo, la fuente y la cisterna donde se recoge agua serán limpias, pero lo que haya tocado los cuerpos muertos será inmundo.

37 And if any part of their carcase fall upon any sowing seed which is to be sown, it shall be clean.

37 Y si cae algo de los cuerpos muertos sobre alguna semilla que se haya de sembrar, será limpia.

38 But if any water be put upon the seed, and any part of their carcase fall thereon, it shall be unclean unto you.

38 Pero si se ha puesto agua en la semilla y cae algo de los cuerpos muertos sobre ella, la tendréis por inmunda.

39 And if any beast, of which ye may eat, die; he that toucheth the carcase thereof shall be unclean until the even.

39 Y si algún animal de los que tenéis para comer muere, el que toque su cuerpo muerto quedará impuro hasta el atardecer.

40 And he that eateth of the carcase of it shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: he also that beareth the carcase of it shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even.

40 Y el que coma del cuerpo muerto lavará sus vestidos y quedará impuro hasta el atardecer; asimismo, el que saque el cuerpo muerto lavará sus vestidos y quedará impuro hasta el atardecer.

41 And every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth shall be an abomination; it shall not be eaten.

41 Y todo animal que se arrastra sobre la tierra es abominación; no se comerá.

42 Whatsoever goeth upon the belly, and whatsoever goeth upon all four, or whatsoever hath more feet among all creeping things that creep upon the earth, them ye shall not eat; for they are an abomination.

42 Todo lo que anda sobre el vientre y todo lo que anda sobre cuatro o más patas, de todo animal que se arrastra sobre la tierra, no los comeréis, porque es abominación.

43 Ye shall not make yourselves abominable with any creeping thing that creepeth, neither shall ye make yourselves unclean with them, that ye should be defiled thereby.

43 No os hagáis abominables con ningún animal que se arrastra ni os contaminéis con ellos para que no seáis impuros por ellos.

44 For I am the LORD your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

44 Porque yo soy Jehová, vuestro Dios; vosotros, por tanto, os santificaréis y seréis santos, porque yo soy santo. Así que no contaminéis vuestras personas con ningún animal que se arrastra sobre la tierra.

45 For I am the LORD that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.

45 Porque yo soy Jehová, que os hago subir de la tierra de Egipto para ser vuestro Dios; seréis, pues, santos, porque yo soy santo.

46 This is the law of the beasts, and of the fowl, and of every living creature that moveth in the waters, and of every creature that creepeth upon the earth:

46 Esta es la ley acerca de los animales, y de las aves, y de todo ser viviente que se mueve en las aguas y de todo ser que se arrastra sobre la tierra,

47 To make a difference between the unclean and the clean, and between the beast that may be eaten and the beast that may not be eaten.

47 para hacer distinción entre lo inmundo y lo limpio, y entre los animales que se pueden comer y los animales que no se pueden comer.
