1 Remember, O LORD, what is come upon us: consider, and behold our reproach.

1 Acuérdate, oh Jehová, de lo que nos ha sucedido; mira y ve nuestro oprobio.

2 Our inheritance is turned to strangers, our houses to aliens.

2 Nuestra heredad ha pasado a extranjeros, nuestras casas a forasteros.

3 We are orphans and fatherless, our mothers are as widows.

3 Huérfanos somos sin padre; nuestras madres son como viudas.

4 We have drunken our water for money; our wood is sold unto us.

4 Nuestra agua bebemos por dinero; nuestra leña por precio compramos.

5 Our necks are under persecution: we labour, and have no rest.

5 Persecución hay sobre nuestro cuello; nos fatigamos, y no hay para nosotros reposo.

6 We have given the hand to the Egyptians, and to the Assyrians, to be satisfied with bread.

6 Al egipcio y al asirio extendimos la mano, para saciarnos de pan.

7 Our fathers have sinned, and are not; and we have borne their iniquities.

7 Nuestros padres pecaron y han muerto, y nosotros llevamos su castigo.

8 Servants have ruled over us: there is none that doth deliver us out of their hand.

8 Siervos se enseñorean de nosotros; no hay quien nos libre de sus manos.

9 We gat our bread with the peril of our lives because of the sword of the wilderness.

9 Con peligro de nuestras vidas conseguimos nuestro pan ante la espada del desierto.

10 Our skin was black like an oven because of the terrible famine.

10 Nuestra piel se abrasa como un horno a causa del ardor del hambre.

11 They ravished the women in Zion, and the maids in the cities of Judah.

11 Violaron a las mujeres en Sion, a las vírgenes en las ciudades de Judá.

12 Princes are hanged up by their hand: the faces of elders were not honoured.

12 A los príncipes colgaron de las manos; no respetaron el rostro de los ancianos.

13 They took the young men to grind, and the children fell under the wood.

13 Llevaron a los jóvenes al molino, y los muchachos desfallecieron bajo el peso de la leña.

14 The elders have ceased from the gate, the young men from their musick.

14 Los ancianos no se ven más en la puerta, los jóvenes dejaron sus canciones.

15 The joy of our heart is ceased; our dance is turned into mourning.

15 Cesó el gozo de nuestro corazón; nuestra danza se convirtió en duelo.

16 The crown is fallen from our head: woe unto us, that we have sinned!

16 Cayó la corona de nuestra cabeza; ¡ay ahora de nosotros, porque hemos pecado!

17 For this our heart is faint; for these things our eyes are dim.

17 Por esto ha desfallecido nuestro corazón; por esto se han entenebrecido nuestros ojos,

18 Because of the mountain of Zion, which is desolate, the foxes walk upon it.

18 por el monte Sion, que está desolado, los zorros andan.

19 Thou, O LORD, remainest for ever; thy throne from generation to generation.

19 Mas tú, oh Jehová, permanecerás para siempre; tu trono, de generación en generación.

20 Wherefore dost thou forget us for ever, and forsake us so long time?

20 ¿Por qué te olvidas para siempre de nosotros y nos abandonas por tan largo tiempo?

21 Turn thou us unto thee, O LORD, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old.

21 Haznos volver a ti, oh Jehová, y nos volveremos; renueva nuestros días como en los tiempos antiguos,

22 But thou hast utterly rejected us; thou art very wroth against us.

22 pero nos has desechado totalmente; te has airado contra nosotros en gran manera.
