1 Then sang Deborah and Barak the son of Abinoam on that day, saying,

1 Y aquel día cantó Débora con Barac hijo de Abinoam, diciendo:

2 Praise ye the LORD for the avenging of Israel, when the people willingly offered themselves.

2 Por haberse puesto al frente los caudillos en Israel, por haberse ofrecido voluntariamente el pueblo, bendecid a Jehová.

3 Hear, O ye kings; give ear, O ye princes; I, even I, will sing unto the LORD; I will sing praise to the LORD God of Israel.

3 ¡Oíd, reyes; estad atentos, oh príncipes! Yo cantaré a Jehová; cantaré salmos a Jehová Dios de Israel.

4 LORD, when thou wentest out of Seir, when thou marchedst out of the field of Edom, the earth trembled, and the heavens dropped, the clouds also dropped water.

4 Cuando saliste de Seir, oh Jehová, cuando te marchaste del campo de Edom, la tierra tembló, y los cielos destilaron, y las nubes gotearon agua.

5 The mountains melted from before the LORD, even that Sinai from before the LORD God of Israel.

5 Los montes se estremecieron delante de Jehová, aquel Sinaí, delante de Jehová Dios de Israel.

6 In the days of Shamgar the son of Anath, in the days of Jael, the highways were unoccupied, and the travellers walked through byways.

6 En los días de Samgar hijo de Anat, en los días de Jael, quedaron abandonados los caminos, y los que andaban por las sendas se apartaban por senderos torcidos.

7 The inhabitants of the villages ceased, they ceased in Israel, until that I Deborah arose, that I arose a mother in Israel.

7 Quedaron abandonadas las aldeas en Israel, quedaron abandonadas hasta que yo, Débora, me levanté, me levanté como madre en Israel.

8 They chose new gods; then was war in the gates: was there a shield or spear seen among forty thousand in Israel?

8 Escogieron nuevos dioses; entonces la guerra llegó a las puertas. ¿Se veía escudo o lanza entre cuarenta mil en Israel?

9 My heart is toward the governors of Israel, that offered themselves willingly among the people. Bless ye the LORD.

9 Mi corazón está con los jefes de Israel, los que con buena voluntad se ofrecieron entre el pueblo. Bendecid a Jehová.

10 Speak, ye that ride on white asses, ye that sit in judgment, and walk by the way.

10 Vosotros los que cabalgáis en asnas blancas, los que presidís en juicio, y vosotros los que viajáis, hablad.

11 They that are delivered from the noise of archers in the places of drawing water, there shall they rehearse the righteous acts of the LORD, even the righteous acts toward the inhabitants of his villages in Israel: then shall the people of the LORD go down to the gates.

11 Lejos del ruido de los arqueros, en los abrevaderos, allí repetirán los actos de justicia de Jehová, los actos de justicia para con los aldeanos en Israel; entonces bajará el pueblo de Jehová a las puertas.

12 Awake, awake, Deborah: awake, awake, utter a song: arise, Barak, and lead thy captivity captive, thou son of Abinoam.

12 Despierta, despierta, Débora; despierta, despierta, entona un cántico. Levántate, Barac, y lleva tus cautivos, hijo de Abinoam.

13 Then he made him that remaineth have dominion over the nobles among the people: the LORD made me have dominion over the mighty.

13 Entonces los sobrevivientes descendieron sobre los nobles del pueblo; Jehová me hizo enseñorear sobre los poderosos.

14 Out of Ephraim was there a root of them against Amalek; after thee, Benjamin, among thy people; out of Machir came down governors, and out of Zebulun they that handle the pen of the writer.

14 De Efraín salió su raíz contra Amalec, en pos de ti, Benjamín, entre tus pueblos; de Maquir descendieron jefes, y de Zabulón los que llevan la vara de mando.

15 And the princes of Issachar were with Deborah; even Issachar, and also Barak: he was sent on foot into the valley. For the divisions of Reuben there were great thoughts of heart.

15 También los príncipes de Isacar estaban con Débora; y como Isacar, también Barac se lanzó a pie al valle. Entre las divisiones de Rubén hubo grandes resoluciones del corazón.

16 Why abodest thou among the sheepfolds, to hear the bleatings of the flocks? For the divisions of Reuben there were great searchings of heart.

16 ¿Por qué te quedaste entre los rediles, para oír los balidos de los rebaños? Entre las divisiones de Rubén grandes fueron las deliberaciones del corazón.

17 Gilead abode beyond Jordan: and why did Dan remain in ships? Asher continued on the sea shore, and abode in his breaches.

17 Galaad se quedó al otro lado del Jordán; y Dan, ¿por qué se quedó junto a las naves? Se mantuvo Aser a la ribera del mar, y se quedó en sus puertos.

18 Zebulun and Naphtali were a people that jeoparded their lives unto the death in the high places of the field.

18 El pueblo de Zabulón expuso su vida a la muerte, y también Neftalí en las alturas del campo.

19 The kings came and fought, then fought the kings of Canaan in Taanach by the waters of Megiddo; they took no gain of money.

19 Vinieron reyes y pelearon; entonces pelearon los reyes de Canaán en Taanac, junto a las aguas de Meguido, mas no llevaron ganancia alguna de dinero.

20 They fought from heaven; the stars in their courses fought against Sisera.

20 Desde los cielos pelearon las estrellas, desde sus órbitas pelearon contra Sísara.

21 The river of Kishon swept them away, that ancient river, the river Kishon. O my soul, thou hast trodden down strength.

21 Los barrió el torrente Cisón, el antiguo torrente, el torrente Cisón. Hollaste, oh alma mía, con poder.

22 Then were the horsehoofs broken by the means of the pransings, the pransings of their mighty ones.

22 Entonces resonaron los cascos de los caballos por las arremetidas, las arremetidas de sus valientes.

23 Curse ye Meroz, said the angel of the LORD, curse ye bitterly the inhabitants thereof; because they came not to the help of the LORD, to the help of the LORD against the mighty.

23 Maldecid a Meroz, dijo el ángel de Jehová, maldecid severamente a sus moradores, porque no vinieron en ayuda de Jehová, en ayuda de Jehová contra los poderosos.

24 Blessed above women shall Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite be, blessed shall she be above women in the tent.

24 Bendita sea entre las mujeres Jael, esposa de Heber, el ceneo; bendita sea entre las mujeres de la tienda.

25 He asked water, and she gave him milk; she brought forth butter in a lordly dish.

25 Él pidió agua, y ella le dio leche; en tazón de nobles le presentó cuajada.

26 She put her hand to the nail, and her right hand to the workmen's hammer; and with the hammer she smote Sisera, she smote off his head, when she had pierced and stricken through his temples.

26 Su mano tendió a la estaca, y su diestra al mazo de trabajadores; y golpeó a Sísara, hirió su cabeza, horadó y atravesó sus sienes.

27 At her feet he bowed, he fell, he lay down: at her feet he bowed, he fell: where he bowed, there he fell down dead.

27 Cayó encorvado a los pies de ella, quedó tendido; a los pies de ella cayó encorvado; donde se encorvó, allí cayó muerto.

28 The mother of Sisera looked out at a window, and cried through the lattice, Why is his chariot so long in coming? why tarry the wheels of his chariots?

28 La madre de Sísara se asoma a la ventana, y por entre las celosías a voces dice: ¿Por qué tarda su carro en venir? ¿Por qué las ruedas de sus carros se retrasan?

29 Her wise ladies answered her, yea, she returned answer to herself,

29 Las más sabias de sus damas le respondían, y aun ella se respondía a sí misma:

30 Have they not sped? have they not divided the prey; to every man a damsel or two; to Sisera a prey of divers colours, a prey of divers colours of needlework, of divers colours of needlework on both sides, meet for the necks of them that take the spoil?

30 ¿Acaso no han hallado el botín y lo están repartiendo? A cada uno una doncella, o dos; el botín de tela para Sísara, el botín de tela bordada de colores, tela de colores bordada por ambos lados, para los cuellos de los que han tomado el botín.

31 So let all thine enemies perish, O LORD: but let them that love him be as the sun when he goeth forth in his might. And the land had rest forty years.

31 Así perezcan todos tus enemigos, oh Jehová; mas los que le aman sean como el sol cuando nace en su fuerza. Y la tierra reposó cuarenta años.
