1 There was also a lot for the tribe of Manasseh; for he was the firstborn of Joseph; to wit, for Machir the firstborn of Manasseh, the father of Gilead: because he was a man of war, therefore he had Gilead and Bashan.

1 Y también se echaron suertes para la tribu de Manasés, porque era el primogénito de José. A Maquir, primogénito de Manasés, y padre de Galaad, que fue hombre de guerra, le tocó Galaad y Basán.

2 There was also a lot for the rest of the children of Manasseh by their families; for the children of Abiezer, and for the children of Helek, and for the children of Asriel, and for the children of Shechem, and for the children of Hepher, and for the children of Shemida: these were the male children of Manasseh the son of Joseph by their families.

2 También se echaron suertes para los otros hijos de Manasés conforme a sus familias: los hijos de Abiezer, y los hijos de Helec, y los hijos de Asriel, y los hijos de Siquem, y los hijos de Hefer, y los hijos de Semida; estos fueron los hijos varones de Manasés hijo de José, conforme a sus familias.

3 But Zelophehad, the son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, had no sons, but daughters: and these are the names of his daughters, Mahlah, and Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.

3 Pero Zelofehad hijo de Hefer, hijo de Galaad, hijo de Maquir, hijo de Manasés, no tuvo hijos, sino hijas, los nombres de las cuales son estos: Maala, y Noa, Hogla, Milca, y Tirsa.

4 And they came near before Eleazar the priest, and before Joshua the son of Nun, and before the princes, saying, The LORD commanded Moses to give us an inheritance among our brethren. Therefore according to the commandment of the LORD he gave them an inheritance among the brethren of their father.

4 Estas vinieron delante del sacerdote Eleazar, y de Josué hijo de Nun, y de los príncipes, y dijeron: Jehová mandó a Moisés que nos diese heredad entre nuestros hermanos. Así que él les dio heredad entre los hermanos del padre de ellas, conforme a la palabra de Jehová.

5 And there fell ten portions to Manasseh, beside the land of Gilead and Bashan, which were on the other side Jordan;

5 Y le tocaron a Manasés diez partes además de la tierra de Galaad y de Basán, que está al otro lado del Jordán,

6 Because the daughters of Manasseh had an inheritance among his sons: and the rest of Manasseh's sons had the land of Gilead.

6 porque las hijas de Manasés poseyeron heredad entre sus hijos; y la tierra de Galaad fue de los otros hijos de Manasés.

7 And the coast of Manasseh was from Asher to Michmethah, that lieth before Shechem; and the border went along on the right hand unto the inhabitants of En-tappuah.

7 Y el límite de Manasés iba desde Aser hasta Micmetat, que está delante de Siquem; e iba este límite a mano derecha, hasta los que habitan en Tapúa.

8 Now Manasseh had the land of Tappuah: but Tappuah on the border of Manasseh belonged to the children of Ephraim;

8 Y la tierra de Tapúa era de Manasés; pero Tapúa, que está junto al límite de Manasés, era de los hijos de Efraín.

9 And the coast descended unto the river Kanah, southward of the river: these cities of Ephraim are among the cities of Manasseh: the coast of Manasseh also was on the north side of the river, and the outgoings of it were at the sea:

9 Y desciende este límite al arroyo de Caná, hacia el sur del arroyo. Estas ciudades de Efraín están entre las ciudades de Manasés; y el límite de Manasés estaba al norte del mismo arroyo, y sus salidas daban al mar.

10 Southward it was Ephraim's, and northward it was Manasseh's, and the sea is his border; and they met together in Asher on the north, and in Issachar on the east.

10 Efraín al sur, y Manasés al norte, y el mar era su límite; y lindaban con Aser al norte, y con Isacar al oriente.

11 And Manasseh had in Issachar and in Asher Beth-shean and her towns, and Ibleam and her towns, and the inhabitants of Dor and her towns, and the inhabitants of En-dor and her towns, and the inhabitants of Taanach and her towns, and the inhabitants of Megiddo and her towns, even three countries.

11 Tuvo también Manasés en Isacar y en Aser Bet-seán y sus aldeas, e Ibleam y sus aldeas, y los moradores de Dor y sus aldeas, y los moradores de Endor y sus aldeas, y los moradores de Taanac y sus aldeas, y los moradores de Meguido y sus aldeas; tres provincias.

12 Yet the children of Manasseh could not drive out the inhabitants of those cities; but the Canaanites would dwell in that land.

12 Mas los hijos de Manasés no pudieron expulsar a los de aquellas ciudades, porque el cananeo persistió en habitar en esa tierra.

13 Yet it came to pass, when the children of Israel were waxen strong, that they put the Canaanites to tribute; but did not utterly drive them out.

13 Y aconteció que cuando los hijos de Israel llegaron a ser fuertes, hicieron tributario al cananeo, mas no lo expulsaron.

14 And the children of Joseph spake unto Joshua, saying, Why hast thou given me but one lot and one portion to inherit, seeing I am a great people, forasmuch as the LORD hath blessed me hitherto?

14 Y los hijos de José hablaron a Josué, diciendo: ¿Por qué me has dado por heredad una sola suerte y una sola parte, siendo yo un pueblo tan grande al que Jehová ha bendecido hasta ahora?

15 And Joshua answered them, If thou be a great people, then get thee up to the wood country, and cut down for thyself there in the land of the Perizzites and of the giants, if mount Ephraim be too narrow for thee.

15 Y Josué les respondió: Si eres un pueblo tan grande, sube al bosque, y corta para ti allí en la tierra del ferezeo y de los gigantes, ya que los montes de Efraín son estrechos para ti.

16 And the children of Joseph said, The hill is not enough for us: and all the Canaanites that dwell in the land of the valley have chariots of iron, both they who are of Beth-shean and her towns, and they who are of the valley of Jezreel.

16 Y los hijos de José dijeron: No nos bastarán a nosotros estos montes; y todos los cananeos que habitan la tierra de la llanura tienen carros de hierro, tanto los que están en Bet-seán y en sus aldeas como los que están en el valle de Jezreel.

17 And Joshua spake unto the house of Joseph, even to Ephraim and to Manasseh, saying, Thou art a great people, and hast great power: thou shalt not have one lot only:

17 Entonces Josué respondió a la casa de José, a Efraín y a Manasés, diciendo: Tú eres un pueblo numeroso y tienes gran poder; no tendrás una sola parte,

18 But the mountain shall be thine; for it is a wood, and thou shalt cut it down: and the outgoings of it shall be thine: for thou shalt drive out the Canaanites, though they have iron chariots, and though they be strong.

18 sino que aquellos montes serán tuyos, pues, aunque bosque es, tú lo cortarás, y serán tuyos hasta sus límites más lejanos porque tú expulsarás al cananeo, aunque tenga carros de hierro, y aunque sea fuerte.
