1 This then was the lot of the tribe of the children of Judah by their families; even to the border of Edom the wilderness of Zin southward was the uttermost part of the south coast.

1 Y esta fue la parte que le tocó en suerte a la tribu de los hijos de Judá, conforme a sus familias, hasta la frontera de Edom, del desierto de Zin al sur, al extremo sur.

2 And their south border was from the shore of the salt sea, from the bay that looketh southward:

2 Y su límite al sur fue desde la costa del mar Salado, desde la bahía que mira hacia el sur;

3 And it went out to the south side to Maaleh-acrabbim, and passed along to Zin, and ascended up on the south side unto Kadesh-barnea, and passed along to Hezron, and went up to Adar, and fetched a compass to Karkaa:

3 y seguía hacia el sur a la subida de Acrabim, pasando hasta Zin; y subiendo por el sur hasta Cades-barnea, pasaba a Hebrón, y subiendo por Adar, daba vuelta a Carca;

4 From thence it passed toward Azmon, and went out unto the river of Egypt; and the goings out of that coast were at the sea: this shall be your south coast.

4 de allí pasaba a Asmón, y salía al arroyo de Egipto; y terminaba el límite en el mar. Este, pues, os será el límite del sur.

5 And the east border was the salt sea, even unto the end of Jordan. And their border in the north quarter was from the bay of the sea at the uttermost part of Jordan:

5 El límite del oriente es el mar Salado hasta la desembocadura del Jordán. Y el límite de la parte del norte, desde la bahía del mar en la desembocadura del Jordán.

6 And the border went up to Beth-hogla, and passed along by the north of Beth-arabah; and the border went up to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben:

6 Y sube este límite por Bet-hogla, y pasa al norte de Bet-arabá, y de aquí sube este límite a la piedra de Bohán hijo de Rubén.

7 And the border went up toward Debir from the valley of Achor, and so northward, looking toward Gilgal, that is before the going up to Adummim, which is on the south side of the river: and the border passed toward the waters of En-shemesh, and the goings out thereof were at En-rogel:

7 Y vuelve a subir este límite a Debir desde el valle de Acor; y al norte mira sobre Gilgal, que está delante de la subida de Adumín, la cual está al sur del valle; y pasa este límite por las aguas de En-semes, y sale a En-rogel.

8 And the border went up by the valley of the son of Hinnom unto the south side of the Jebusite; the same is Jerusalem: and the border went up to the top of the mountain that lieth before the valley of Hinnom westward, which is at the end of the valley of the giants northward:

8 Y sube este límite por el valle del hijo de Hinom al lado sur del jebuseo, que es Jerusalén. Luego sube este límite por la cumbre del monte que está delante del valle de Hinom, hacia el occidente, el cual está al extremo del valle de los gigantes al norte.

9 And the border was drawn from the top of the hill unto the fountain of the water of Nephtoah, and went out to the cities of mount Ephron; and the border was drawn to Baalah, which is Kirjath-jearim:

9 Y rodea este límite desde la cumbre del monte hasta la fuente de las aguas de Neftoa, y sale a las ciudades del monte Efrón, rodeando luego el mismo límite a Baala, la cual es Quiriat-jearim.

10 And the border compassed from Baalah westward unto mount Seir, and passed along unto the side of mount Jearim, which is Chesalon, on the north side, and went down to Beth-shemesh, and passed on to Timnah:

10 Después dobla este límite desde Baala hacia el occidente al monte Seir, y pasa al lado del monte Jearim hacia el norte, que es Quesalón, y desciende a Bet-semes, y pasa a Timna.

11 And the border went out unto the side of Ekron northward: and the border was drawn to Shicron, and passed along to mount Baalah, and went out unto Jabneel; and the goings out of the border were at the sea.

11 Sale luego este límite al lado de Ecrón hacia el norte; y rodea el mismo límite a Sicrón, y pasa por el monte Baala, y sale a Jabneel, y termina este límite en el mar.

12 And the west border was to the great sea, and the coast thereof. This is the coast of the children of Judah round about according to their families.

12 El límite del occidente es el mar Grande. Estas, pues, son las fronteras alrededor de los hijos de Judá en derredor, conforme a sus familias.

13 And unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a part among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of the LORD to Joshua, even the city of Arba the father of Anak, which city is Hebron.

13 Mas a Caleb hijo de Jefone se le dio su parte entre los hijos de Judá, conforme a la palabra de Jehová a Josué, esto es, Quiriat-arba, del padre de Anac, la cual es Hebrón.

14 And Caleb drove thence the three sons of Anak, Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai, the children of Anak.

14 Y Caleb echó de allí a los tres hijos de Anac: a Sesai, a Ahimán, y a Talmai, hijos de Anac.

15 And he went up thence to the inhabitants of Debir: and the name of Debir before was Kirjath-sepher.

15 De allí subió contra los que moraban en Debir; y el nombre de Debir era antes Quiriat-séfer.

16 And Caleb said, He that smiteth Kirjath-sepher, and taketh it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter to wife.

16 Y dijo Caleb: Al que ataque a Quiriat-séfer, y la tome, yo le daré a mi hija Acsa por esposa.

17 And Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it: and he gave him Achsah his daughter to wife.

17 Y la tomó Otoniel hijo de Cenaz, hermano de Caleb; y él le dio por esposa a su hija Acsa.

18 And it came to pass, as she came unto him, that she moved him to ask of her father a field: and she lighted off her ass; and Caleb said unto her, What wouldest thou?

18 Y aconteció que cuando la llevaba, él la persuadió a que pidiese a su padre tierras para labrar. Ella entonces se apeó del asno. Y Caleb le dijo: ¿Qué deseas?

19 Who answered, Give me a blessing; for thou hast given me a south land; give me also springs of water. And he gave her the upper springs, and the nether springs.

19 Y ella respondió: Dame una bendición; ya que me has dado tierra del sur, dame también fuentes de agua. Él entonces le dio las fuentes de arriba y las de abajo.

20 This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families.

21 And the uttermost cities of the tribe of the children of Judah toward the coast of Edom southward were Kabzeel, and Eder, and Jagur,

45 Ekron, with her towns and her villages:

45 Ecrón con sus villas y sus aldeas.

46 From Ekron even unto the sea, all that lay near Ashdod, with their villages:

46 Desde Ecrón hasta el mar, todas las que están cerca de Asdod con sus aldeas.

47 Ashdod with her towns and her villages, Gaza with her towns and her villages, unto the river of Egypt, and the great sea, and the border thereof:

47 Asdod con sus villas y sus aldeas; Gaza con sus villas y sus aldeas hasta el río de Egipto, y el mar Grande con sus costas.

48 And in the mountains, Shamir, and Jattir, and Socoh,

49 And Dannah, and Kirjath-sannah, which is Debir,

49 y Dana, y Quiriat-sana, que es Debir,

50 And Anab, and Eshtemoh, and Anim,

60 Kirjath-baal, which is Kirjath-jearim, and Rabbah; two cities with their villages:

61 In the wilderness, Beth-arabah, Middin, and Secacah,

61 En el desierto, Bet-arabá, Midín, y Secaca,

62 And Nibshan, and the city of Salt, and En-gedi; six cities with their villages.

63 As for the Jebusites the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the children of Judah could not drive them out: but the Jebusites dwell with the children of Judah at Jerusalem unto this day.

63 Mas a los jebuseos que habitaban en Jerusalén, los hijos de Judá no pudieron expulsarlos; así que ha quedado el jebuseo en Jerusalén con los hijos de Judá hasta hoy.
