1 Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,

1 Y respondió Bildad, el suhita, y dijo:

2 How long wilt thou speak these things? and how long shall the words of thy mouth be like a strong wind?

2 ¿Hasta cuándo hablarás tales cosas, y serán las palabras de tu boca como un viento impetuoso?

3 Doth God pervert judgment? or doth the Almighty pervert justice?

3 ¿Acaso pervertirá Dios el juicio, o pervertirá el Todopoderoso la justicia?

4 If thy children have sinned against him, and he have cast them away for their transgression;

4 Si tus hijos pecaron contra él, él los entregó en manos de su transgresión.

5 If thou wouldest seek unto God betimes, and make thy supplication to the Almighty;

5 Si tú de mañana buscas a Dios y ruegas al Todopoderoso,

6 If thou wert pure and upright; surely now he would awake for thee, and make the habitation of thy righteousness prosperous.

6 si fueras puro y recto, ciertamente se despertaría ahora en tu favor y haría prosperar la morada de tu justicia.

7 Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase.

7 Aunque tu comienzo haya sido pequeño, tu porvenir se engrandecerá en gran manera.

8 For inquire, I pray thee, of the former age, and prepare thyself to the search of their fathers:

8 Pues pregunta, te ruego, a las generaciones pasadas y disponte para lo inquirido por sus padres;

9 (For we are but of yesterday, and know nothing, because our days upon earth are a shadow:)

9 pues nosotros somos de ayer y nada sabemos, ya que nuestros días sobre la tierra son como una sombra.

10 Shall not they teach thee, and tell thee, and utter words out of their heart?

10 ¿No te enseñarán ellos, y te hablarán, y de su corazón sacarán palabras?

11 Can the rush grow up without mire? can the flag grow without water?

11 ¿Crece el junco sin lodo? ¿Crece la caña sin agua?

12 Whilst it is yet in his greenness, and not cut down, it withereth before any other herb.

12 Aun en su verdor, sin haber sido cortado, se seca antes que toda hierba.

13 So are the paths of all that forget God; and the hypocrite's hope shall perish:

13 Tales son los caminos de todos los que se olvidan de Dios; y la esperanza del impío perecerá,

14 Whose hope shall be cut off, and whose trust shall be a spider's web.

14 porque su esperanza será cortada, y su confianza es como una tela de araña.

15 He shall lean upon his house, but it shall not stand: he shall hold it fast, but it shall not endure.

15 Se apoyará en su casa, mas esta no permanecerá en pie; se asirá a ella, mas no resistirá.

16 He is green before the sun, and his branch shooteth forth in his garden.

16 Como un árbol está verde delante del sol y sus renuevos salen sobre su huerto,

17 His roots are wrapped about the heap, and seeth the place of stones.

17 se van entretejiendo sus raíces sobre un montón de rocas. Ve una casa de piedra.

18 If he destroy him from his place, then it shall deny him, saying, I have not seen thee.

18 Si lo arrancan de su lugar, este lo negará entonces, diciendo: Nunca te vi.

19 Behold, this is the joy of his way, and out of the earth shall others grow.

19 He aquí, este será el gozo de su camino, y del polvo brotarán otros.

20 Behold, God will not cast away a perfect man, neither will he help the evil doers:

20 He aquí, Dios no rechaza al perfecto ni brinda apoyo a la mano de los malignos.

21 Till he fill thy mouth with laughing, and thy lips with rejoicing.

21 Aún llenará tu boca de risa, y tus labios de júbilo.

22 They that hate thee shall be clothed with shame; and the dwelling place of the wicked shall come to nought.

22 Los que te aborrecen serán vestidos de vergüenza, y la habitación de los malvados perecerá.
