1 Surely there is a vein for the silver, and a place for gold where they fine it.

2 Iron is taken out of the earth, and brass is molten out of the stone.

2 El hierro se saca del polvo, y de la piedra se funde el cobre.

3 He setteth an end to darkness, and searcheth out all perfection: the stones of darkness, and the shadow of death.

3 A las tinieblas pone término, y examina hasta lo más remoto, la piedra de la oscuridad y la sombra de muerte.

4 The flood breaketh out from the inhabitant; even the waters forgotten of the foot: they are dried up, they are gone away from men.

4 Abre un venero lejos de lo habitado, en lugares olvidados por el pie del hombre; allí, suspendidos, se balancean lejos de los demás hombres.

5 As for the earth, out of it cometh bread: and under it is turned up as it were fire.

5 De la tierra proviene el pan, y debajo de ella está revuelta como por fuego.

6 The stones of it are the place of sapphires: and it hath dust of gold.

6 Sus piedras son sitio de zafiros, y su polvo contiene oro.

7 There is a path which no fowl knoweth, and which the vulture's eye hath not seen:

7 Es una senda que ave de rapiña nunca conoció, ni ojo de halcón vio;

8 The lion's whelps have not trodden it, nor the fierce lion passed by it.

8 cachorros de fieras altivas nunca la pisaron, ni león pasó por ella.

9 He putteth forth his hand upon the rock; he overturneth the mountains by the roots.

9 En el pedernal puso su mano, y trastornó de raíz los montes.

10 He cutteth out rivers among the rocks; and his eye seeth every precious thing.

10 Entre los peñascos cortó ríos, y sus ojos vieron todo lo preciado.

11 He bindeth the floods from overflowing; and the thing that is hid bringeth he forth to light.

11 Detuvo los ríos para que no se desbordasen, e hizo salir a luz lo escondido.

12 But where shall wisdom be found? and where is the place of understanding?

12 Mas, ¿dónde se hallará la sabiduría? ¿Y dónde está el lugar del entendimiento?

13 Man knoweth not the price thereof; neither is it found in the land of the living.

13 No conoce su valor el hombre, ni se halla en la tierra de los vivientes.

14 The depth saith, It is not in me: and the sea saith, It is not with me.

14 El abismo dice: No está en mí, y el mar dice: Ni conmigo.

15 It cannot be gotten for gold, neither shall silver be weighed for the price thereof.

15 No se dará a cambio de oro, ni su precio será a peso de plata.

16 It cannot be valued with the gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx, or the sapphire.

16 No puede ser evaluada con oro de Ofir, ni con ónice precioso ni con zafiro.

17 The gold and the crystal cannot equal it: and the exchange of it shall not be for jewels of fine gold.

17 El oro no la igualará, ni el cristal, ni se cambiará por objetos de oro fino.

18 No mention shall be made of coral, or of pearls: for the price of wisdom is above rubies.

18 No se hará mención de coral ni de cristal; la sabiduría vale más que las piedras preciosas.

19 The topaz of Ethiopia shall not equal it, neither shall it be valued with pure gold.

19 No se igualará con ella el topacio de Etiopía, ni se evaluará con el oro fino.

20 Whence then cometh wisdom? and where is the place of understanding?

20 ¿De dónde, pues, procede la sabiduría? ¿Y dónde está el lugar del entendimiento?

21 Seeing it is hid from the eyes of all living, and kept close from the fowls of the air.

21 Porque encubierta está a los ojos de todo viviente, y a toda ave del cielo le es oculta.

22 Destruction and death say, We have heard the fame thereof with our ears.

22 El Abadón y la muerte dijeron: Su fama hemos oído con nuestros oídos.

23 God understandeth the way thereof, and he knoweth the place thereof.

23 Dios entiende el camino de ella y conoce su lugar,

24 For he looketh to the ends of the earth, and seeth under the whole heaven;

24 porque él mira hasta los confines de la tierra, y ve debajo de todos los cielos.

25 To make the weight for the winds; and he weigheth the waters by measure.

25 Al dar peso al viento, y medir las aguas por partes,

26 When he made a decree for the rain, and a way for the lightning of the thunder:

26 cuando él hizo ley para la lluvia y camino para el relámpago del trueno,

27 Then did he see it, and declare it; he prepared it, yea, and searched it out.

27 ya entonces la veía él y la manifestaba; la preparó y también la escudriñó.

28 And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.

28 Y dijo al hombre: He aquí que el temor del Señor es la sabiduría; y el apartarse del mal, el entendimiento.
