1 Moreover Job continued his parable, and said,

1 Y continuó Job su discurso y dijo:

2 As God liveth, who hath taken away my judgment; and the Almighty, who hath vexed my soul;

2 Vive Dios, que ha quitado mi derecho, y el Omnipotente, que ha amargado el alma mía,

3 All the while my breath is in me, and the spirit of God is in my nostrils;

3 que todo el tiempo que mi aliento esté en mí y haya espíritu de Dios en mis narices,

4 My lips shall not speak wickedness, nor my tongue utter deceit.

4 mis labios no hablarán iniquidad ni mi lengua pronunciará engaño.

5 God forbid that I should justify you: till I die I will not remove mine integrity from me.

5 Nunca tal acontezca que yo os justifique; hasta que muera, no quitaré de mí mi integridad.

6 My righteousness I hold fast, and will not let it go: my heart shall not reproach me so long as I live.

6 A mi justicia me aferro y no la cederé; no me reprochará mi corazón mientras viva.

7 Let mine enemy be as the wicked, and he that riseth up against me as the unrighteous.

7 Sea como el malvado mi enemigo, y como el inicuo el que se levanta contra mí.

8 For what is the hope of the hypocrite, though he hath gained, when God taketh away his soul?

8 Porque, ¿cuál es la esperanza del impío, por mucho que haya robado, cuando Dios le quite la vida?

9 Will God hear his cry when trouble cometh upon him?

9 ¿Oirá Dios su clamor cuando la tribulación venga sobre él?

10 Will he delight himself in the Almighty? will he always call upon God?

10 ¿Se deleitará en el Omnipotente? ¿Invocará a Dios en todo tiempo?

11 I will teach you by the hand of God: that which is with the Almighty will I not conceal.

11 Yo os enseñaré acerca del poder de Dios; no esconderé lo que concierne al Omnipotente.

12 Behold, all ye yourselves have seen it; why then are ye thus altogether vain?

12 He aquí que todos vosotros lo habéis visto; ¿por qué, pues, os habéis hecho tan enteramente vanos?

13 This is the portion of a wicked man with God, and the heritage of oppressors, which they shall receive of the Almighty.

13 Esta es la porción de parte de Dios para el hombre malvado, y la herencia que los violentos han de recibir del Omnipotente:

14 If his children be multiplied, it is for the sword: and his offspring shall not be satisfied with bread.

14 Si sus hijos se multiplican, serán entregados a la espada, y sus pequeños no se saciarán de pan;

15 Those that remain of him shall be buried in death: and his widows shall not weep.

15 los que de él queden morirán y serán sepultados, y no llorarán sus viudas.

16 Though he heap up silver as the dust, and prepare raiment as the clay;

16 Si amontona plata como polvo, y si apila ropa como barro,

17 He may prepare it, but the just shall put it on, and the innocent shall divide the silver.

17 la habrá apilado él, mas el justo se vestirá con ella, y el inocente repartirá la plata.

18 He buildeth his house as a moth, and as a booth that the keeper maketh.

18 Edifica su casa como la polilla, como enramada que hace el guardia.

19 The rich man shall lie down, but he shall not be gathered: he openeth his eyes, and he is not.

19 Rico se acuesta, pero no será recogido; abrirá sus ojos y ya no será nada.

20 Terrors take hold on him as waters, a tempest stealeth him away in the night.

20 Se apoderarán de él terrores como aguas; el torbellino lo arrebatará de noche.

21 The east wind carrieth him away, and he departeth: and as a storm hurleth him out of his place.

21 El viento solano lo levanta y se lo lleva, y la tempestad lo arrebata de su lugar.

22 For God shall cast upon him, and not spare: he would fain flee out of his hand.

22 Dios, pues, descargará contra él y no perdonará; ciertamente procurará huir de su mano.

23 Men shall clap their hands at him, and shall hiss him out of his place.

23 Batirán las manos contra él, y desde su lugar le silbarán.
