1 Against Moab thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Woe unto Nebo! for it is spoiled: Kiriathaim is confounded and taken: Misgab is confounded and dismayed.

1 Acerca de Moab. Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel: ¡Ay de Nebo!, porque fue destruida; fue avergonzada Quiriataim, fue tomada; fue confundida Misgab y destrozada.

2 There shall be no more praise of Moab: in Heshbon they have devised evil against it; come, and let us cut it off from being a nation. Also thou shalt be cut down, O Madmen; the sword shall pursue thee.

2 No se alabará ya más Moab; en Hesbón maquinaron mal contra ella, diciendo: Venid, y quitémosla de entre las naciones. También tú, Madmena, serás talada; la espada irá en pos de ti.

3 A voice of crying shall be from Horonaim, spoiling and great destruction.

3 ¡Voz de clamor de Horonaim, destrucción y gran quebranto!

4 Moab is destroyed; her little ones have caused a cry to be heard.

4 Moab ha sido quebrantada; hicieron que se oyese el clamor de sus pequeños.

5 For in the going up of Luhith continual weeping shall go up; for in the going down of Horonaim the enemies have heard a cry of destruction.

5 Porque a la subida de Luhit con llanto subirá el que llora; porque a la bajada de Horonaim los enemigos oyeron clamor de quebranto.

6 Flee, save your lives, and be like the heath in the wilderness.

6 ¡Huid, salvad vuestra vida y sed como la retama en el desierto!

7 For because thou hast trusted in thy works and in thy treasures, thou shalt also be taken: and Chemosh shall go forth into captivity with his priests and his princes together.

7 Pues por cuanto confiaste en tus obras y en tus tesoros, tú también serás tomada; y Quemos será llevado en cautiverio, junto con sus sacerdotes y sus príncipes.

8 And the spoiler shall come upon every city, and no city shall escape: the valley also shall perish, and the plain shall be destroyed, as the LORD hath spoken.

8 Y vendrá el destructor a cada una de las ciudades, y ninguna ciudad escapará; también el valle será arruinado, y será destruida la llanura, como ha dicho Jehová.

9 Give wings unto Moab, that it may flee and get away: for the cities thereof shall be desolate, without any to dwell therein.

9 Dad alas a Moab, para que se vaya volando; pues serán desoladas sus ciudades hasta no quedar en ellas morador alguno.

10 Cursed be he that doeth the work of the LORD deceitfully, and cursed be he that keepeth back his sword from blood.

10 Maldito el que hiciere engañosamente la obra de Jehová, y maldito el que retuviere su espada de la sangre.

11 Moab hath been at ease from his youth, and he hath settled on his lees, and hath not been emptied from vessel to vessel, neither hath he gone into captivity: therefore his taste remained in him, and his scent is not changed.

11 Tranquilo estuvo Moab desde su juventud, y sobre sus sedimentos ha estado reposado, y no fue vaciado de vasija en vasija ni nunca estuvo en cautiverio; por tanto, conservó su sabor, y su olor no ha cambiado.

12 Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will send unto him wanderers, that shall cause him to wander, and shall empty his vessels, and break their bottles.

12 Por eso, he aquí que vienen días, ha dicho Jehová, en que yo le enviaré transvasadores que lo transvasarán, y vaciarán sus vasijas y romperán sus tinajas.

13 And Moab shall be ashamed of Chemosh, as the house of Israel was ashamed of Beth-el their confidence.

13 Y se avergonzará Moab de Quemos, como la casa de Israel se avergonzó de Bet-el, su confianza.

14 How say ye, We are mighty and strong men for the war?

14 ¿Cómo, pues, diréis: Somos valientes y hombres fuertes para la guerra?

15 Moab is spoiled, and gone up out of her cities, and his chosen young men are gone down to the slaughter, saith the King, whose name is the LORD of hosts.

15 Destruido ha sido Moab, y sus ciudades asoladas, y sus jóvenes escogidos han descendido al degolladero, ha dicho el Rey, cuyo nombre es Jehová de los ejércitos.

16 The calamity of Moab is near to come, and his affliction hasteth fast.

16 Cercana está la calamidad de Moab, a punto de llegar, y su aflicción se apresura mucho.

17 All ye that are about him, bemoan him; and all ye that know his name, say, How is the strong staff broken, and the beautiful rod!

17 Lamentaos por él todos los que estáis a su alrededor; y todos los que sabéis su nombre, decid: ¡Cómo se ha quebrado la vara fuerte, el báculo hermoso!

18 Thou daughter that dost inhabit Dibon, come down from thy glory, and sit in thirst; for the spoiler of Moab shall come upon thee, and he shall destroy thy strong holds.

18 Desciende de la gloria, siéntate en tierra seca, moradora hija de Dibón; porque el destructor de Moab ha subido contra ti, ha destruido tus fortalezas.

19 O inhabitant of Aroer, stand by the way, and espy; ask him that fleeth, and her that escapeth, and say, What is done?

19 Ponte en el camino y mira, oh moradora de Aroer; pregunta al que va huyendo y a la que va escapando, y di: ¿Qué ha acontecido?

20 Moab is confounded; for it is broken down: howl and cry; tell ye it in Arnon, that Moab is spoiled,

20 Moab ha sido avergonzado, porque fue destrozado; aullad y clamad; anunciad en el Arnón que Moab ha sido destruido.

21 And judgment is come upon the plain country; upon Holon, and upon Jahazah, and upon Mephaath,

21 Y ha venido juicio sobre la tierra de la llanura; sobre Holón, y sobre Jahaza, y sobre Mefaat,

22 And upon Dibon, and upon Nebo, and upon Beth-diblathaim,

22 y sobre Dibón, y sobre Nebo, y sobre Bet-diblataim,

23 And upon Kiriathaim, and upon Beth-gamul, and upon Beth-meon,

23 y sobre Quiriataim, y sobre Bet-gamul, y sobre Bet-meón,

24 And upon Kerioth, and upon Bozrah, and upon all the cities of the land of Moab, far or near.

24 y sobre Queriot, y sobre Bosra, y sobre todas las ciudades de la tierra de Moab, las de lejos y las de cerca.

25 The horn of Moab is cut off, and his arm is broken, saith the LORD.

25 Cortado es el poder de Moab, y su brazo quebrantado, dice Jehová.

26 Make ye him drunken: for he magnified himself against the LORD: Moab also shall wallow in his vomit, and he also shall be in derision.

26 Embriagadlo, porque contra Jehová se engrandeció; y revuélquese Moab en su vómito, y sea también él motivo de escarnio.

27 For was not Israel a derision unto thee? was he found among thieves? for since thou spakest of him, thou skippedst for joy.

27 ¿Y no fue Israel para ti motivo de escarnio? ¿Acaso fue hallado entre ladrones? Porque cuando de él hablabas, tú hacías gestos de burla.

28 O ye that dwell in Moab, leave the cities, and dwell in the rock, and be like the dove that maketh her nest in the sides of the hole's mouth.

28 Abandonad las ciudades y habitad en peñascos, oh moradores de Moab; y sed como la paloma que hace nido en la boca de la caverna.

29 We have heard the pride of Moab, (he is exceeding proud) his loftiness, and his arrogancy, and his pride, and the haughtiness of his heart.

29 Hemos oído de la soberbia de Moab, que es muy soberbio, de su arrogancia y de su orgullo, y de su altivez y de la altanería de su corazón.

30 I know his wrath, saith the LORD; but it shall not be so; his lies shall not so effect it.

30 Yo conozco, dice Jehová, su cólera; pero no tendrá efecto alguno; sus jactancias no le aprovecharán.

31 Therefore will I howl for Moab, and I will cry out for all Moab; mine heart shall mourn for the men of Kir-heres.

31 Por tanto, yo aullaré por Moab, y por todo Moab clamaré y por los hombres de Kir-hares gemiré.

32 O vine of Sibmah, I will weep for thee with the weeping of Jazer: thy plants are gone over the sea, they reach even to the sea of Jazer: the spoiler is fallen upon thy summer fruits and upon thy vintage.

32 Con llanto de Jazer lloraré por ti, oh vid de Sibma; tus sarmientos pasaron el mar, llegaron hasta el mar de Jazer; sobre tu cosecha y sobre tu vendimia ha venido el destructor.

33 And joy and gladness is taken from the plentiful field, and from the land of Moab; and I have caused wine to fail from the winepresses: none shall tread with shouting; their shouting shall be no shouting.

33 Y han sido quitados la alegría y el regocijo de los campos fértiles y de la tierra de Moab; y he hecho que falte el vino de los lagares; no pisarán con gritos de júbilo; los gritos no serán de júbilo.

34 From the cry of Heshbon even unto Elealeh, and even unto Jahaz, have they uttered their voice, from Zoar even unto Horonaim, as an heifer of three years old: for the waters also of Nimrim shall be desolate.

34 El clamor de Hesbón llega hasta Eleale; hasta Jahaza dieron su voz; desde Zoar hasta Horonaim y Eglat-selisiyá; porque también las aguas de Nimrim serán desoladas.

35 Moreover I will cause to cease in Moab, saith the LORD, him that offereth in the high places, and him that burneth incense to his gods.

35 Y haré cesar en Moab, dice Jehová, a quien sacrifique en los lugares altos, y a quien queme incienso a sus dioses.

36 Therefore mine heart shall sound for Moab like pipes, and mine heart shall sound like pipes for the men of Kir-heres: because the riches that he hath gotten are perished.

36 Por tanto, mi corazón resonará como flautas por causa de Moab; asimismo resonará mi corazón a modo de flautas por los hombres de Kir-hares, porque perecieron las riquezas que había conseguido.

37 For every head shall be bald, and every beard clipped: upon all the hands shall be cuttings, and upon the loins sackcloth.

37 Porque en toda cabeza habrá calvicie, y toda barba será rapada; sobre todas las manos habrá sajaduras y cilicio sobre todos los lomos.

38 There shall be lamentation generally upon all the housetops of Moab, and in the streets thereof: for I have broken Moab like a vessel wherein is no pleasure, saith the LORD.

38 Sobre todos los terrados de Moab y en sus calles todo será llanto, porque yo he quebrado a Moab como a vasija que no agrada, dice Jehová.

39 They shall howl, saying, How is it broken down! how hath Moab turned the back with shame! so shall Moab be a derision and a dismaying to all them about him.

39 ¡Cómo ha sido quebrantado! ¡Aúllan! ¡Cómo ha vuelto la espalda Moab, avergonzado! Y será Moab objeto de escarnio y de espanto para todos los que están en sus alrededores.

40 For thus saith the LORD; Behold, he shall fly as an eagle, and shall spread his wings over Moab.

40 Porque así ha dicho Jehová: He aquí que como águila volará y extenderá sus alas contra Moab.

41 Kerioth is taken, and the strong holds are surprised, and the mighty men's hearts in Moab at that day shall be as the heart of a woman in her pangs.

41 Tomada será Queriot, y tomadas serán las fortalezas; y aquel día el corazón de los valientes de Moab será como el corazón de mujer en angustia.

42 And Moab shall be destroyed from being a people, because he hath magnified himself against the LORD.

42 Y Moab será destruido hasta dejar de ser pueblo, porque se engrandeció contra Jehová.

43 Fear, and the pit, and the snare, shall be upon thee, O inhabitant of Moab, saith the LORD.

43 Miedo, y foso y trampa contra ti, oh morador de Moab, dice Jehová.

44 He that fleeth from the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that getteth up out of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for I will bring upon it, even upon Moab, the year of their visitation, saith the LORD.

44 El que huya del miedo caerá en el foso; y el que salga del foso quedará atrapado en la trampa, porque yo traeré sobre él, sobre Moab, el año de su castigo, dice Jehová.

45 They that fled stood under the shadow of Heshbon because of the force: but a fire shall come forth out of Heshbon, and a flame from the midst of Sihon, and shall devour the corner of Moab, and the crown of the head of the tumultuous ones.

45 A la sombra de Hesbón se han detenido sin fuerzas los que huían; mas sale fuego de Hesbón y llama de en medio de Sehón, y ha devorado las sienes de Moab y la coronilla de los hijos revoltosos.

46 Woe be unto thee, O Moab! the people of Chemosh perisheth: for thy sons are taken captives, and thy daughters captives.

46 ¡Ay de ti, Moab! Ha perecido el pueblo de Quemos, porque tus hijos fueron llevados para cautividad y tus hijas para cautiverio.

47 Yet will I bring again the captivity of Moab in the latter days, saith the LORD. Thus far is the judgment of Moab.

47 Pero haré volver a los cautivos de Moab en lo postrero de los tiempos, dice Jehová. Hasta aquí es el juicio de Moab.
