1 In the ninth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the tenth month, came Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon and all his army against Jerusalem, and they besieged it.

1 En el noveno año de Sedequías, rey de Judá, en el mes décimo, vino Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, con todo su ejército contra Jerusalén, y la sitiaron.

2 And in the eleventh year of Zedekiah, in the fourth month, the ninth day of the month, the city was broken up.

2 Y en el undécimo año de Sedequías, en el mes cuarto, a los nueve días del mes, se abrió una brecha en la ciudad.

3 And all the princes of the king of Babylon came in, and sat in the middle gate, even Nergal-sharezer, Samgar-nebo, Sarsechim, Rab-saris, Nergal-sharezer, Rab-mag, with all the residue of the princes of the king of Babylon.

3 Y entraron todos los príncipes del rey de Babilonia y acamparon a la puerta de en medio: Nergal-sarezer, Samgar-nebo, Sarsequim, el Rabsaris, Nergal-sarezer, el Rabmag, y todos los demás príncipes del rey de Babilonia.

4 And it came to pass, that when Zedekiah the king of Judah saw them, and all the men of war, then they fled, and went forth out of the city by night, by the way of the king's garden, by the gate betwixt the two walls: and he went out the way of the plain.

4 Y aconteció que al verlos Sedequías, rey de Judá, y todos los hombres de guerra, huyeron y salieron de la ciudad de noche por el camino del huerto del rey, por la puerta entre los dos muros; y salió el rey por el camino del desierto.

5 But the Chaldeans' army pursued after them, and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho: and when they had taken him, they brought him up to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon to Riblah in the land of Hamath, where he gave judgment upon him.

5 Pero el ejército de los caldeos los persiguió, y alcanzaron a Sedequías en los llanos de Jericó; y le apresaron y le hicieron subir a donde estaba Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, a Ribla, en la tierra de Hamat, quien le sentenció.

6 Then the king of Babylon slew the sons of Zedekiah in Riblah before his eyes: also the king of Babylon slew all the nobles of Judah.

6 Y mató el rey de Babilonia a los hijos de Sedequías ante sus propios ojos en Ribla; asimismo, el rey de Babilonia hizo matar a todos los nobles de Judá,

7 Moreover he put out Zedekiah's eyes, and bound him with chains, to carry him to Babylon.

7 y le sacó los ojos a Sedequías y le aprisionó con grilletes para llevarle a Babilonia.

8 And the Chaldeans burned the king's house, and the houses of the people, with fire, and brake down the walls of Jerusalem.

8 Y los caldeos prendieron fuego a la casa del rey y a las casas del pueblo, y derribaron los muros de Jerusalén.

9 Then Nebuzar-adan the captain of the guard carried away captive into Babylon the remnant of the people that remained in the city, and those that fell away, that fell to him, with the rest of the people that remained.

9 Y al resto del pueblo que había quedado en la ciudad y a los que se habían pasado a él, con todo el resto del pueblo que había quedado, Nabuzaradán, capitán de la guardia, los llevó cautivos a Babilonia.

10 But Nebuzar-adan the captain of the guard left of the poor of the people, which had nothing, in the land of Judah, and gave them vineyards and fields at the same time.

10 Pero Nabuzaradán, capitán de la guardia, hizo quedar en la tierra de Judá a los pobres del pueblo que no tenían nada, y ese día les dio viñas y campos.

11 Now Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon gave charge concerning Jeremiah to Nebuzar-adan the captain of the guard, saying,

11 Y Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, había dado órdenes a Nabuzaradán, capitán de la guardia, acerca de Jeremías, diciendo:

12 Take him, and look well to him, and do him no harm; but do unto him even as he shall say unto thee.

12 Tómale y vela por él; y no le hagas mal alguno, sino haz con él como él te diga.

13 So Nebuzar-adan the captain of the guard sent, and Nebushasban, Rab-saris, and Nergal-sharezer, Rab-mag, and all the king of Babylon's princes;

13 Por tanto, Nabuzaradán, capitán de la guardia, y Nabusazbán, el Rabsaris, y Nergal-sarezer, el Rabmag y todos los príncipes del rey de Babilonia

14 Even they sent, and took Jeremiah out of the court of the prison, and committed him unto Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan, that he should carry him home: so he dwelt among the people.

14 enviaron entonces y sacaron a Jeremías del patio de la cárcel, y lo entregaron a Gedalías hijo de Ahicam, hijo de Safán, para que lo llevase a casa; y vivió entre el pueblo.

15 Now the word of the LORD came unto Jeremiah, while he was shut up in the court of the prison, saying,

15 Y había venido la palabra de Jehová a Jeremías mientras estaba preso en el patio de la cárcel, diciendo:

16 Go and speak to Ebed-melech the Ethiopian, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will bring my words upon this city for evil, and not for good; and they shall be accomplished in that day before thee.

16 Ve y habla a Ebed-melec, el etíope, diciendo: Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos, el Dios de Israel: He aquí, yo traigo mis palabras sobre esta ciudad para mal y no para bien; y sucederá esto en aquel día en presencia tuya.

17 But I will deliver thee in that day, saith the LORD: and thou shalt not be given into the hand of the men of whom thou art afraid.

17 Mas en aquel día yo te libraré, dice Jehová, y no serás entregado en manos de aquellos a quienes tú temes.

18 For I will surely deliver thee, and thou shalt not fall by the sword, but thy life shall be for a prey unto thee: because thou hast put thy trust in me, saith the LORD.

18 Porque ciertamente te libraré, y no caerás a espada, sino que tu vida te servirá de botín, porque tuviste confianza en mí, dice Jehová.
