1 In the beginning of the reign of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah came this word unto Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,

1 En el principio del reinado de Joacim hijo de Josías, rey de Judá, esta palabra vino de Jehová a Jeremías, diciendo:

2 Thus saith the LORD to me; Make thee bonds and yokes, and put them upon thy neck,

2 Jehová me ha dicho así: Hazte coyundas y yugos, y ponlos sobre tu cuello;

3 And send them to the king of Edom, and to the king of Moab, and to the king of the Ammonites, and to the king of Tyrus, and to the king of Zidon, by the hand of the messengers which come to Jerusalem unto Zedekiah king of Judah;

3 y los enviarás al rey de Edom, y al rey de Moab, y al rey de los hijos de Amón, y al rey de Tiro y al rey de Sidón, por medio de los mensajeros que vienen a Jerusalén a ver a Sedequías, rey de Judá.

4 And command them to say unto their masters, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Thus shall ye say unto your masters;

4 Y les mandarás que digan a sus señores: Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos, el Dios de Israel: Así habéis de decir a vuestros señores:

5 I have made the earth, the man and the beast that are upon the ground, by my great power and by my outstretched arm, and have given it unto whom it seemed meet unto me.

5 Yo hice la tierra, el hombre y las bestias que están sobre la faz de la tierra, con mi gran poder y con mi brazo extendido, y la di a quien me pareció bien.

6 And now have I given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant; and the beasts of the field have I given him also to serve him.

6 Y ahora yo he puesto todas estas tierras en manos de Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, mi siervo, y aun las bestias del campo le he dado para que le sirvan.

7 And all nations shall serve him, and his son, and his son's son, until the very time of his land come: and then many nations and great kings shall serve themselves of him.

7 Y todas las naciones le servirán a él, y a su hijo y al hijo de su hijo, hasta que venga también el tiempo de su misma tierra; y él será siervo de muchas naciones y de grandes reyes.

8 And it shall come to pass, that the nation and kingdom which will not serve the same Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, and that will not put their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, that nation will I punish, saith the LORD, with the sword, and with the famine, and with the pestilence, until I have consumed them by his hand.

8 Y sucederá que a la nación y al reino que no sirva a Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, y que no ponga su cuello debajo del yugo del rey de Babilonia, castigaré a tal nación con espada, y con hambre y con pestilencia, dice Jehová, hasta que los acabe yo por medio de su mano.

9 Therefore hearken not ye to your prophets, nor to your diviners, nor to your dreamers, nor to your enchanters, nor to your sorcerers, which speak unto you, saying, Ye shall not serve the king of Babylon:

9 Vosotros, por tanto, no prestéis oído a vuestros profetas, ni a vuestros adivinos, ni a vuestros soñadores, ni a vuestros agoreros ni a vuestros encantadores, que os hablan, diciendo: No serviréis al rey de Babilonia.

10 For they prophesy a lie unto you, to remove you far from your land; and that I should drive you out, and ye should perish.

10 Porque ellos os profetizan mentira, para haceros alejar de vuestra tierra, y para que yo os arroje y perezcáis.

11 But the nations that bring their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him, those will I let remain still in their own land, saith the LORD; and they shall till it, and dwell therein.

11 Pero a la nación que someta su cuello al yugo del rey de Babilonia y le sirva, la dejaré en su tierra, dice Jehová, y la labrará y morará en ella.

12 I spake also to Zedekiah king of Judah according to all these words, saying, Bring your necks under the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him and his people, and live.

12 Hablé también a Sedequías, rey de Judá, conforme a todas estas palabras, diciendo: Someted vuestros cuellos al yugo del rey de Babilonia, y servidle a él y a su pueblo, y vivid.

13 Why will ye die, thou and thy people, by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence, as the LORD hath spoken against the nation that will not serve the king of Babylon?

13 ¿Por qué moriréis, tú y tu pueblo, a espada, de hambre y de pestilencia, según ha dicho Jehová de la nación que no sirva al rey de Babilonia?

14 Therefore hearken not unto the words of the prophets that speak unto you, saying, Ye shall not serve the king of Babylon: for they prophesy a lie unto you.

14 Por tanto, no escuchéis las palabras de los profetas que os hablan, diciendo: No serviréis al rey de Babilonia, porque os profetizan mentira.

15 For I have not sent them, saith the LORD, yet they prophesy a lie in my name; that I might drive you out, and that ye might perish, ye, and the prophets that prophesy unto you.

15 Porque yo no los he enviado, dice Jehová, y ellos profetizan falsamente en mi nombre, para que yo os arroje y perezcáis, vosotros y los profetas que os profetizan.

16 Also I spake to the priests and to all this people, saying, Thus saith the LORD; Hearken not to the words of your prophets that prophesy unto you, saying, Behold, the vessels of the LORD's house shall now shortly be brought again from Babylon: for they prophesy a lie unto you.

16 También a los sacerdotes y a todo este pueblo hablé, diciendo: Así ha dicho Jehová: No escuchéis las palabras de vuestros profetas que os profetizan, diciendo: He aquí que los utensilios de la casa de Jehová serán devueltos muy pronto de Babilonia, porque os profetizan mentira.

17 Hearken not unto them; serve the king of Babylon, and live: wherefore should this city be laid waste?

17 No los escuchéis, sino servid al rey de Babilonia y vivid. ¿Por qué ha de ser asolada esta ciudad?

18 But if they be prophets, and if the word of the LORD be with them, let them now make intercession to the LORD of hosts, that the vessels which are left in the house of the LORD, and in the house of the king of Judah, and at Jerusalem, go not to Babylon.

18 Y si ellos son profetas y si está con ellos la palabra de Jehová, oren ahora a Jehová de los ejércitos para que los utensilios que han quedado en la casa de Jehová, y en la casa del rey de Judá y en Jerusalén, no sean llevados a Babilonia.

19 For thus saith the LORD of hosts concerning the pillars, and concerning the sea, and concerning the bases, and concerning the residue of the vessels that remain in this city,

19 Porque así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos de aquellas columnas, y del mar, y de las basas y del resto de los utensilios que quedan en esta ciudad,

20 Which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon took not, when he carried away captive Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah from Jerusalem to Babylon, and all the nobles of Judah and Jerusalem;

20 que no quitó Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, cuando llevó cautivos de Jerusalén a Babilonia a Jeconías hijo de Joacim, rey de Judá, y a todos los nobles de Judá y de Jerusalén.

21 Yea, thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, concerning the vessels that remain in the house of the LORD, and in the house of the king of Judah and of Jerusalem;

21 Así, pues, ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos, el Dios de Israel, acerca de los utensilios que quedaron en la casa de Jehová, y en la casa del rey de Judá y en Jerusalén:

22 They shall be carried to Babylon, and there shall they be until the day that I visit them, saith the LORD; then will I bring them up, and restore them to this place.

22 A Babilonia serán llevados, y allí estarán hasta el día en que yo los visite, dice Jehová; y después los traeré y los restituiré a este lugar.
