1 The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, that was the first year of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon;

1 La palabra que vino a Jeremías acerca de todo el pueblo de Judá en el año cuarto de Joacim hijo de Josías, rey de Judá, el cual era el año primero de Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia;

2 The which Jeremiah the prophet spake unto all the people of Judah, and to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying,

2 la cual habló el profeta Jeremías a todo el pueblo de Judá y a todos los moradores de Jerusalén, diciendo:

3 From the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon king of Judah, even unto this day, that is the three and twentieth year, the word of the LORD hath come unto me, and I have spoken unto you, rising early and speaking; but ye have not hearkened.

3 Desde el año trece de Josías hijo de Amón, rey de Judá, hasta este día, que son veintitrés años, ha venido a mí la palabra de Jehová, y os he hablado, madrugando y dando aviso, pero no habéis escuchado.

4 And the LORD hath sent unto you all his servants the prophets, rising early and sending them; but ye have not hearkened, nor inclined your ear to hear.

4 Y envió Jehová a vosotros a todos sus siervos los profetas, madrugando y enviándolos, pero no habéis escuchado ni habéis inclinado vuestro oído para escuchar

5 They said, Turn ye again now every one from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell in the land that the LORD hath given unto you and to your fathers for ever and ever:

5 cuando decían: Volveos ahora de vuestro mal camino y de la maldad de vuestras obras, y morad en la tierra que os dio Jehová, a vosotros y a vuestros padres para siempre;

6 And go not after other gods to serve them, and to worship them, and provoke me not to anger with the works of your hands; and I will do you no hurt.

6 y no vayáis en pos de dioses ajenos, sirviéndoles y adorándolos, ni me provoquéis a ira con la obra de vuestras manos, y no os haré mal.

7 Yet ye have not hearkened unto me, saith the LORD; that ye might provoke me to anger with the works of your hands to your own hurt.

7 Pero no me habéis escuchado, dice Jehová, sino que me habéis provocado a ira con la obra de vuestras manos para vuestro propio mal.

8 Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Because ye have not heard my words,

8 Por tanto, así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos: Por cuanto no habéis escuchado mis palabras,

9 Behold, I will send and take all the families of the north, saith the LORD, and Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against the inhabitants thereof, and against all these nations round about, and will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and an hissing, and perpetual desolations.

9 he aquí, yo enviaré y tomaré a todas las familias del norte, dice Jehová, y a Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, mi siervo, y los traeré contra esta tierra, y contra sus moradores y contra todas estas naciones de alrededor; y los destruiré y los haré objeto de espanto, y de burla y desolación perpetua.

10 Moreover I will take from them the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the candle.

10 Y haré que desaparezca de entre ellos la voz de gozo y la voz de alegría, la voz del desposado y la voz de la desposada, el ruido del molino y la luz de la lámpara.

11 And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.

11 Y toda esta tierra será desolación y espanto; y servirán estas naciones al rey de Babilonia durante setenta años.

12 And it shall come to pass, when seventy years are accomplished, that I will punish the king of Babylon, and that nation, saith the LORD, for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans, and will make it perpetual desolations.

12 Y acontecerá que cuando se hayan cumplido los setenta años, castigaré al rey de Babilonia y a aquella nación por su iniquidad, ha dicho Jehová, y a la tierra de los caldeos; y la convertiré en desolación perpetua.

13 And I will bring upon that land all my words which I have pronounced against it, even all that is written in this book, which Jeremiah hath prophesied against all the nations.

13 Y traeré sobre aquella tierra todas mis palabras que he hablado contra ella, con todo lo que está escrito en este libro, profetizado por Jeremías contra todas las naciones.

14 For many nations and great kings shall serve themselves of them also: and I will recompense them according to their deeds, and according to the works of their own hands.

14 Porque serán sometidos a muchas naciones y a grandes reyes, y yo les pagaré conforme a sus hechos y conforme a la obra de sus manos.

15 For thus saith the LORD God of Israel unto me; Take the wine cup of this fury at my hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send thee, to drink it.

15 Porque así me dijo Jehová Dios de Israel: Toma de mi mano la copa del vino de este furor, y haz que beban de ella todas las naciones a las cuales yo te envío.

16 And they shall drink, and be moved, and be mad, because of the sword that I will send among them.

16 Y beberán, y temblarán y enloquecerán a causa de la espada que yo envío entre ellos.

17 Then took I the cup at the LORD's hand, and made all the nations to drink, unto whom the LORD had sent me:

17 Y tomé la copa de la mano de Jehová, e hice beber a todas las naciones a las cuales me envió Jehová:

18 To wit, Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, and the kings thereof, and the princes thereof, to make them a desolation, an astonishment, an hissing, and a curse; as it is this day;

18 a Jerusalén, y a las ciudades de Judá, y a sus reyes y a sus príncipes, para convertirlos en desolación, en espanto, en burla y en maldición, como en este día;

19 Pharaoh king of Egypt, and his servants, and his princes, and all his people;

19 a Faraón, rey de Egipto, y a sus siervos, y a sus príncipes y a todo su pueblo;

20 And all the mingled people, and all the kings of the land of Uz, and all the kings of the land of the Philistines, and Ashkelon, and Azzah, and Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod,

20 y a toda la mezcla de naciones, y a todos los reyes de la tierra de Uz, y a todos los reyes de la tierra de Filistea, y a Ascalón, y a Gaza, y a Ecrón y al remanente de Asdod;

21 Edom, and Moab, and the children of Ammon,

21 a Edom, y a Moab y a los hijos de Amón;

22 And all the kings of Tyrus, and all the kings of Zidon, and the kings of the isles which are beyond the sea,

22 y a todos los reyes de Tiro, y a todos los reyes de Sidón y a los reyes de las islas que están al otro lado del mar;

23 Dedan, and Tema, and Buz, and all that are in the utmost corners,

23 y a Dedán, y a Tema, y a Buz y a todos los que están en los extremos más remotos;

24 And all the kings of Arabia, and all the kings of the mingled people that dwell in the desert,

24 y a todos los reyes de Arabia y a todos los reyes de pueblos mezclados que habitan en el desierto;

25 And all the kings of Zimri, and all the kings of Elam, and all the kings of the Medes,

25 y a todos los reyes de Zimri, y a todos los reyes de Elam y a todos los reyes de Media;

26 And all the kings of the north, far and near, one with another, and all the kingdoms of the world, which are upon the face of the earth: and the king of Sheshach shall drink after them.

26 y a todos los reyes del norte, los de cerca y los de lejos, a los unos y a los otros; y a todos los reinos del mundo que están sobre la faz de la tierra; y el rey de Sesac beberá después de ellos.

27 Therefore thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Drink ye, and be drunken, and spue, and fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you.

27 Les dirás, pues: Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel: Bebed, y embriagaos, y vomitad, y caed y no os levantéis a causa de la espada que yo envío entre vosotros.

28 And it shall be, if they refuse to take the cup at thine hand to drink, then shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Ye shall certainly drink.

28 Y acontecerá que si no quieren tomar la copa de tu mano para beber, les dirás tú: Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos: Tenéis que beber.

29 For, lo, I begin to bring evil on the city which is called by my name, and should ye be utterly unpunished? Ye shall not be unpunished: for I will call for a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, saith the LORD of hosts.

29 Porque he aquí que yo comienzo a hacer mal a la ciudad sobre la cual es invocado mi nombre; ¿y seréis vosotros absueltos? ¡No seréis absueltos, porque espada traigo sobre todos los moradores de la tierra, dice Jehová de los ejércitos!

30 Therefore prophesy thou against them all these words, and say unto them, The LORD shall roar from on high, and utter his voice from his holy habitation; he shall mightily roar upon his habitation; he shall give a shout, as they that tread the grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth.

30 Tú, pues, profetizarás contra ellos todas estas palabras y les dirás: Jehová rugirá desde lo alto, y desde su santa morada dará su voz; rugirá fuertemente contra su morada; canción de lagareros cantará contra todos los moradores de la tierra.

31 A noise shall come even to the ends of the earth; for the LORD hath a controversy with the nations, he will plead with all flesh; he will give them that are wicked to the sword, saith the LORD.

31 Llegará el estruendo hasta los extremos de la tierra, porque Jehová está en pleito contra las naciones; él entra en juicio contra toda carne; entregará a los malvados a la espada, dice Jehová.

32 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, evil shall go forth from nation to nation, and a great whirlwind shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth.

32 Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos: He aquí que el mal irá de nación en nación, y una gran tempestad se levantará desde los confines de la tierra.

33 And the slain of the LORD shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung upon the ground.

33 Y yacerán los muertos de Jehová en aquel día desde un extremo de la tierra hasta el otro; nadie los llorará, ni los recogerán ni los enterrarán; como estiércol quedarán sobre la faz de la tierra.

34 Howl, ye shepherds, and cry; and wallow yourselves in the ashes, ye principal of the flock: for the days of your slaughter and of your dispersions are accomplished; and ye shall fall like a pleasant vessel.

34 Aullad, pastores, y clamad; y revolcaos en ceniza, mayorales del rebaño, porque se han cumplido vuestros días para que seáis degollados y esparcidos, y caeréis como vaso precioso.

35 And the shepherds shall have no way to flee, nor the principal of the flock to escape.

35 Y no habrá refugio para los pastores ni escape para los mayorales del rebaño.

36 A voice of the cry of the shepherds, and an howling of the principal of the flock, shall be heard: for the LORD hath spoiled their pasture.

36 ¡Voz de la gritería de los pastores y aullido de los mayorales del rebaño!, porque Jehová ha asolado sus pastizales.

37 And the peaceable habitations are cut down because of the fierce anger of the LORD.

37 Y los apacibles rebaños son devastados por el furor de la ira de Jehová.

38 He hath forsaken his covert, as the lion: for their land is desolate because of the fierceness of the oppressor, and because of his fierce anger.

38 Dejó cual leoncillo su guarida, pues asolada fue la tierra de ellos por la ira del opresor y por el furor de su enojo.
