1 Then said the LORD unto me, Though Moses and Samuel stood before me, yet my mind could not be toward this people: cast them out of my sight, and let them go forth.

1 Y me dijo Jehová: Aunque Moisés y Samuel se pusieran delante de mí, mi voluntad no estaría con este pueblo; échalos de mi presencia, y que salgan.

2 And it shall come to pass, if they say unto thee, Whither shall we go forth? then thou shalt tell them, Thus saith the LORD; Such as are for death, to death; and such as are for the sword, to the sword; and such as are for the famine, to the famine; and such as are for the captivity, to the captivity.

2 Y acontecerá que si te preguntan: ¿A dónde saldremos?, les dirás: Así ha dicho Jehová: El que a muerte, a muerte; y el que a espada, a espada; y el que a hambre, a hambre; y el que a cautiverio, a cautiverio.

3 And I will appoint over them four kinds, saith the LORD: the sword to slay, and the dogs to tear, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the earth, to devour and destroy.

3 Y enviaré sobre ellos cuatro géneros de destructores, dice Jehová: espada para matar, y perros para despedazar, y aves del cielo y bestias de la tierra para devorar y destruir.

4 And I will cause them to be removed into all kingdoms of the earth, because of Manasseh the son of Hezekiah king of Judah, for that which he did in Jerusalem.

4 Y haré que sean motivo de terror para todos los reinos de la tierra, a causa de Manasés hijo de Ezequías, rey de Judá, por lo que hizo en Jerusalén.

5 For who shall have pity upon thee, O Jerusalem? or who shall bemoan thee? or who shall go aside to ask how thou doest?

5 Porque, ¿quién tendrá compasión de ti, oh Jerusalén? ¿Y quién se lamentará por tu causa o quién se apartará de su camino para preguntar por tu paz?

6 Thou hast forsaken me, saith the LORD, thou art gone backward: therefore will I stretch out my hand against thee, and destroy thee; I am weary with repenting.

6 Tú me has abandonado, dice Jehová; te volviste atrás; por tanto, yo extenderé contra ti mi mano y te destruiré; estoy cansado de tener compasión.

7 And I will fan them with a fan in the gates of the land; I will bereave them of children, I will destroy my people, since they return not from their ways.

7 Y los aventaré con aventador hasta las puertas de la tierra, y privaré de hijos a mi pueblo y lo destruiré, pues no se volvieron de sus caminos.

8 Their widows are increased to me above the sand of the seas: I have brought upon them against the mother of the young men a spoiler at noonday: I have caused him to fall upon it suddenly, and terrors upon the city.

8 Por mí sus viudas se multiplicaron más que la arena del mar; he traído contra ellos destructor a mediodía sobre la madre de los jóvenes; sobre ella hice que de repente cayesen angustia y terrores.

9 She that hath borne seven languisheth: she hath given up the ghost; her sun is gone down while it was yet day: she hath been ashamed and confounded: and the residue of them will I deliver to the sword before their enemies, saith the LORD.

9 Languideció la que dio a luz siete; exhaló su alma; su sol se puso siendo aún de día; fue avergonzada y llena de confusión; y lo que de ella quede, lo entregaré a la espada delante de sus enemigos, dice Jehová.

10 Woe is me, my mother, that thou hast borne me a man of strife and a man of contention to the whole earth! I have neither lent on usury, nor men have lent to me on usury; yet every one of them doth curse me.

10 ¡Ay de mí, madre mía, que me diste a luz como hombre de contienda y hombre de discordia para toda la tierra! Nunca he dado ni tomado en préstamo, sin embargo, todos me maldicen.

11 The LORD said, Verily it shall be well with thy remnant; verily I will cause the enemy to entreat thee well in the time of evil and in the time of affliction.

11 Dijo Jehová: Ciertamente te he librado para bien; de cierto haré que el enemigo te suplique en tiempo de calamidad y en tiempo de angustia.

12 Shall iron break the northern iron and the steel?

12 ¿Puede alguno romper el hierro, el hierro del norte, y el bronce?

13 Thy substance and thy treasures will I give to the spoil without price, and that for all thy sins, even in all thy borders.

13 Tus riquezas y tus tesoros entregaré al saqueo sin ningún precio, por todos tus pecados y en todos tus territorios;

14 And I will make thee to pass with thine enemies into a land which thou knowest not: for a fire is kindled in mine anger, which shall burn upon you.

14 y haré que tus enemigos te lleven a una tierra que no conoces, porque fuego se ha encendido en mi furor y arderá contra vosotros.

15 O LORD, thou knowest: remember me, and visit me, and revenge me of my persecutors; take me not away in thy longsuffering: know that for thy sake I have suffered rebuke.

15 Tú lo sabes, oh Jehová; acuérdate de mí, y visítame y véngame de mis perseguidores. No me arrebates en la prolongación de tu enojo; sabes que por tu causa sufro afrenta.

16 Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts.

16 Fueron halladas tus palabras, y yo las comí; y tu palabra fue para mí el gozo y la alegría de mi corazón, porque por tu nombre soy llamado, oh Jehová Dios de los ejércitos.

17 I sat not in the assembly of the mockers, nor rejoiced; I sat alone because of thy hand: for thou hast filled me with indignation.

17 No me senté en compañía de burladores ni me regocijé; a causa de tu mano me senté solo, porque me llenaste de indignación.

18 Why is my pain perpetual, and my wound incurable, which refuseth to be healed? wilt thou be altogether unto me as a liar, and as waters that fail?

18 ¿Por qué fue perpetuo mi dolor, y mi herida incurable no admitió curación? ¿Serás para mí como arroyo ilusorio, como aguas que no son estables?

19 Therefore thus saith the LORD, If thou return, then will I bring thee again, and thou shalt stand before me: and if thou take forth the precious from the vile, thou shalt be as my mouth: let them return unto thee; but return not thou unto them.

19 Por tanto, así dijo Jehová: Si te vuelves, yo te restauraré, y delante de mí estarás; y si separas lo precioso de lo vil, serás como mi boca. Vuélvanse ellos a ti, pero tú no te vuelvas a ellos.

20 And I will make thee unto this people a fenced brasen wall: and they shall fight against thee, but they shall not prevail against thee: for I am with thee to save thee and to deliver thee, saith the LORD.

20 Y te pondré en este pueblo como muro fortificado de bronce; y pelearán contra ti, pero no te vencerán, porque yo estoy contigo para salvarte y librarte, dice Jehová.

21 And I will deliver thee out of the hand of the wicked, and I will redeem thee out of the hand of the terrible.

21 Y te libraré de la mano de los malos y te redimiré de la mano de los tiranos.
