1 Righteous art thou, O LORD, when I plead with thee: yet let me talk with thee of thy judgments: Wherefore doth the way of the wicked prosper? wherefore are all they happy that deal very treacherously?

1 Justo eres tú, oh Jehová, cuando yo contiendo contigo; sin embargo, hablaré contigo sobre tus juicios. ¿Por qué es prosperado el camino de los malvados, y les va bien a todos los que se portan deslealmente?

2 Thou hast planted them, yea, they have taken root: they grow, yea, they bring forth fruit: thou art near in their mouth, and far from their reins.

2 Los plantaste, y echaron raíces; crecieron y dieron fruto; cercano estás tú en sus bocas, pero lejos de sus corazones.

3 But thou, O LORD, knowest me: thou hast seen me, and tried mine heart toward thee: pull them out like sheep for the slaughter, and prepare them for the day of slaughter.

3 Pero tú, oh Jehová, me conoces; me viste y has probado mi corazón para contigo; arrástralos como ovejas para el matadero, y sepáralos para el día de la matanza.

4 How long shall the land mourn, and the herbs of every field wither, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein? the beasts are consumed, and the birds; because they said, He shall not see our last end.

4 ¿Hasta cuándo estará de duelo la tierra y marchita la hierba de todo el campo? Por la maldad de los que en ella moran han perecido los ganados y las aves, porque dijeron: Él no verá nuestro fin.

5 If thou hast run with the footmen, and they have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horses? and if in the land of peace, wherein thou trustedst, they wearied thee, then how wilt thou do in the swelling of Jordan?

5 Si corriste con los de a pie y te cansaron, ¿cómo competirás con los caballos? Y si en la tierra de paz estabas confiado, ¿cómo harás en la espesura del Jordán?

6 For even thy brethren, and the house of thy father, even they have dealt treacherously with thee; yea, they have called a multitude after thee: believe them not, though they speak fair words unto thee.

6 Porque aun tus hermanos y la casa de tu padre, aun ellos te han traicionado, aun ellos han gritado detrás de ti. No les creas aunque te digan cosas buenas.

7 I have forsaken mine house, I have left mine heritage; I have given the dearly beloved of my soul into the hand of her enemies.

7 He abandonado mi casa, he desamparado mi heredad, he entregado lo que amaba mi alma en manos de sus enemigos.

8 Mine heritage is unto me as a lion in the forest; it crieth out against me: therefore have I hated it.

8 Mi heredad fue para mí como león en el bosque; contra mí dio su rugido; por tanto, la aborrecí.

9 Mine heritage is unto me as a speckled bird, the birds round about are against her; come ye, assemble all the beasts of the field, come to devour.

9 ¿Es mi heredad para mí como ave de rapiña de muchos colores? ¿Hay contra ella aves de rapiña en derredor? Venid, reuníos, vosotras todas las fieras del campo, venid a devorarla.

10 Many pastors have destroyed my vineyard, they have trodden my portion under foot, they have made my pleasant portion a desolate wilderness.

10 Muchos pastores han destruido mi viña, han hollado mi heredad, han convertido en desierto mi heredad preciosa y la han desolado.

11 They have made it desolate, and being desolate it mourneth unto me; the whole land is made desolate, because no man layeth it to heart.

11 La han convertido en asolamiento, y desolada, lloró sobre mí; asolada fue toda la tierra, porque no hubo hombre al que le importara.

12 The spoilers are come upon all high places through the wilderness: for the sword of the LORD shall devour from the one end of the land even to the other end of the land: no flesh shall have peace.

12 Sobre todas las alturas del desierto vinieron destructores, porque la espada de Jehová devorará desde un extremo de la tierra hasta el otro extremo; no habrá paz para nadie.

13 They have sown wheat, but shall reap thorns: they have put themselves to pain, but shall not profit: and they shall be ashamed of your revenues because of the fierce anger of the LORD.

13 Han sembrado trigo y han cosechado espinos; se han esforzado, pero de nada les aprovecha. Se avergonzarán de sus frutos, a causa de la ardiente ira de Jehová.

14 Thus saith the LORD against all mine evil neighbours, that touch the inheritance which I have caused my people Israel to inherit; Behold, I will pluck them out of their land, and pluck out the house of Judah from among them.

14 Así ha dicho Jehová contra todos mis malos vecinos que atacan la heredad que hice poseer a mi pueblo Israel: He aquí que yo los arrancaré de su tierra, y arrancaré de en medio de ellos la casa de Judá.

15 And it shall come to pass, after that I have plucked them out I will return, and have compassion on them, and will bring them again, every man to his heritage, and every man to his land.

15 Y acontecerá que después de que los haya arrancado, volveré y tendré misericordia de ellos, y los haré volver cada uno a su heredad y cada cual a su tierra.

16 And it shall come to pass, if they will diligently learn the ways of my people, to swear by my name, The LORD liveth; as they taught my people to swear by Baal; then shall they be built in the midst of my people.

16 Y acontecerá que si aprenden con diligencia los caminos de mi pueblo, jurando en mi nombre: ¡Vive Jehová!, así como enseñaron a mi pueblo a jurar por Baal, entonces ellos serán establecidos en medio de mi pueblo.

17 But if they will not obey, I will utterly pluck up and destroy that nation, saith the LORD.

17 Pero si no escuchan, arrancaré a esa nación, sacándola de raíz y destruyéndola, dice Jehová.
