1 Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?

1 Jehová ha dicho así: El cielo es mi trono y la tierra el estrado de mis pies. ¿Dónde está la casa que me habréis de edificar? ¿Y dónde está el lugar de mi reposo?

2 For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.

2 Porque mi mano hizo todas estas cosas, y así todas estas cosas llegaron a ser, dice Jehová; mas miraré a aquel que es pobre y humilde de espíritu y que tiembla ante mi palabra.

3 He that killeth an ox is as if he slew a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, as if he cut off a dog's neck; he that offereth an oblation, as if he offered swine's blood; he that burneth incense, as if he blessed an idol. Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations.

3 El que mata buey es como si matase a un hombre; el que sacrifica oveja, como si degollase a un perro; el que hace ofrenda, como si ofreciese sangre de cerdo; el que quema incienso, como si bendijese a un ídolo. Pues, como escogieron sus propios caminos y su alma amó sus abominaciones,

4 I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not.

4 también yo escogeré sus escarnios y traeré sobre ellos lo que temen; porque llamé, y nadie respondió; hablé, y no oyeron, sino que hicieron lo malo delante de mis ojos y escogieron lo que a mí me desagrada.

5 Hear the word of the LORD, ye that tremble at his word; Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name's sake, said, Let the LORD be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed.

5 Oíd palabra de Jehová, vosotros los que tembláis ante su palabra: Vuestros hermanos, que os aborrecen y os echan fuera por causa de mi nombre, dijeron: Sea glorificado Jehová. Mas él se mostrará para alegría vuestra, y ellos serán avergonzados.

6 A voice of noise from the city, a voice from the temple, a voice of the LORD that rendereth recompence to his enemies.

6 Voz de alboroto de la ciudad, voz del templo, voz de Jehová que da el pago a sus enemigos.

7 Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was delivered of a man child.

7 Antes que estuviese de parto, dio a luz; antes que le viniesen dolores, dio a luz un hijo.

8 Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.

8 ¿Quién oyó cosa semejante? ¿Quién vio tal cosa? ¿Dará a luz la tierra en un día? ¿Nacerá una nación de una sola vez? Pues en cuanto Sion estuvo de parto, dio a luz a sus hijos.

9 Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth? saith the LORD: shall I cause to bring forth, and shut the womb? saith thy God.

9 Yo que hago dar a luz, ¿no haré nacer?, dice Jehová. Yo que hago nacer, ¿seré detenido?, dice tu Dios.

10 Rejoice ye with Jerusalem, and be glad with her, all ye that love her: rejoice for joy with her, all ye that mourn for her:

10 Alegraos con Jerusalén, y regocijaos con ella, todos los que la amáis; llenaos con ella de gozo todos los que hacéis duelo por ella,

11 That ye may suck, and be satisfied with the breasts of her consolations; that ye may milk out, and be delighted with the abundance of her glory.

11 para que os amamantéis y os saciéis de los pechos de sus consolaciones, para que bebáis y os deleitéis con la plenitud de su gloria.

12 For thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream: then shall ye suck, ye shall be borne upon her sides, and be dandled upon her knees.

12 Porque así dice Jehová: He aquí que yo extiendo sobre ella paz como un río y la gloria de las naciones como un arroyo que desborda; y seréis amamantados, y en los brazos seréis traídos y sobre las rodillas seréis mecidos.

13 As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem.

13 Como aquel a quien su madre consuela, así os consolaré yo a vosotros, y en Jerusalén recibiréis consuelo.

14 And when ye see this, your heart shall rejoice, and your bones shall flourish like an herb: and the hand of the LORD shall be known toward his servants, and his indignation toward his enemies.

14 Y lo veréis, y se alegrará vuestro corazón, y vuestros huesos se renovarán como la hierba; y la mano de Jehová se dará a conocer a sus siervos y se enojará contra sus enemigos.

15 For, behold, the LORD will come with fire, and with his chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire.

15 Porque he aquí que Jehová vendrá con fuego y sus carros como torbellino, para descargar su ira con furor y su reprensión con llamas de fuego.

16 For by fire and by his sword will the LORD plead with all flesh: and the slain of the LORD shall be many.

16 Porque Jehová juzgará con fuego y con su espada a toda carne, y los muertos por Jehová serán multiplicados.

17 They that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one tree in the midst, eating swine's flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, shall be consumed together, saith the LORD.

17 Los que se santifican y los que se purifican en los huertos, tras uno que está entre ellos, los que comen carne de cerdo, y cosas abominables y ratones, juntamente perecerán, dice Jehová.

18 For I know their works and their thoughts: it shall come, that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come, and see my glory.

18 Porque yo conozco sus obras y sus pensamientos; tiempo vendrá para juntar a todas las naciones y lenguas; y vendrán y verán mi gloria.

19 And I will set a sign among them, and I will send those that escape of them unto the nations, to Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, that draw the bow, to Tubal, and Javan, to the isles afar off, that have not heard my fame, neither have seen my glory; and they shall declare my glory among the Gentiles.

19 Y pondré entre ellos una señal y enviaré de ellos sobrevivientes a las naciones, a Tarsis, a Pul y a Lud, que disparan arco, a Tubal y a Javán, a las costas lejanas que no han oído de mí ni han visto mi gloria; y proclamarán mi gloria entre las naciones.

20 And they shall bring all your brethren for an offering unto the LORD out of all nations upon horses, and in chariots, and in litters, and upon mules, and upon swift beasts, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, saith the LORD, as the children of Israel bring an offering in a clean vessel into the house of the LORD.

20 Y traerán a todos vuestros hermanos de entre todas las naciones, como una ofrenda a Jehová, en caballos, y en carros, y en literas, y en mulos y en camellos, a mi santo monte de Jerusalén, dice Jehová, tal como los hijos de Israel traen la ofrenda en utensilios limpios a la casa de Jehová.

21 And I will also take of them for priests and for Levites, saith the LORD.

21 Y tomaré también de entre ellos para sacerdotes y para levitas, dice Jehová.

22 For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain.

22 Porque como los cielos nuevos y la nueva tierra que yo hago, permanecerán delante de mí, dice Jehová, así permanecerán vuestra descendencia y vuestro nombre.

23 And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.

23 Y sucederá que de mes en mes, y de día de reposo en día de reposo, vendrán todos a adorar delante de mí, dice Jehová.

24 And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.

24 Y saldrán y verán los cadáveres de los hombres que se rebelaron contra mí; porque su gusano nunca morirá ni su fuego se apagará; y serán abominables a toda la humanidad.
