1 Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, travelling in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save.

1 ¿Quién es este que viene de Edom con vestidos de Bosra teñidos de rojo? ¿Este, vestido con esplendidez, que marcha en la grandeza de su poder? Yo, el que hablo en justicia, poderoso para salvar.

2 Wherefore art thou red in thine apparel, and thy garments like him that treadeth in the winefat?

2 ¿Por qué es rojo tu vestido, y tus ropas como las del que ha pisado en lagar?

3 I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people there was none with me: for I will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in my fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my raiment.

3 He pisado yo solo el lagar, y de los pueblos nadie había conmigo; los he pisado con mi ira y los he hollado con mi furor; y su sangre salpicó mis vestidos, y manché todas mis ropas.

4 For the day of vengeance is in mine heart, and the year of my redeemed is come.

4 Porque el día de la venganza está en mi corazón, y el año de mis redimidos ha llegado.

5 And I looked, and there was none to help; and I wondered that there was none to uphold: therefore mine own arm brought salvation unto me; and my fury, it upheld me.

5 Y miré y no había quien ayudara, y me maravillé de que no hubiera quien sustentase; y me salvó mi propio brazo, y mi ira me sostuvo.

6 And I will tread down the people in mine anger, and make them drunk in my fury, and I will bring down their strength to the earth.

6 Y en mi ira hollé a los pueblos, y los embriagué con mi furor y derramé en tierra su sangre.

7 I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the LORD, and the praises of the LORD, according to all that the LORD hath bestowed on us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which he hath bestowed on them according to his mercies, and according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses.

7 De las misericordias de Jehová haré memoria, de las alabanzas de Jehová, conforme a todo lo que Jehová nos ha dado, y de la grandeza de sus beneficios hacia la casa de Israel, que les ha dado según sus misericordias y según la abundancia de su amorosa bondad.

8 For he said, Surely they are my people, children that will not lie: so he was their Saviour.

8 Porque dijo: Ciertamente mi pueblo son, hijos que no mienten; y él fue su Salvador.

9 In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old.

9 En toda angustia de ellos él fue angustiado, y el ángel de su faz los salvó; en su amor y en su compasión los redimió, y los levantó y los llevó todos los días de la antigüedad.

10 But they rebelled, and vexed his holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, and he fought against them.

10 Mas ellos fueron rebeldes y entristecieron su santo espíritu; por lo cual se les volvió enemigo y él mismo peleó contra ellos.

11 Then he remembered the days of old, Moses, and his people, saying, Where is he that brought them up out of the sea with the shepherd of his flock? where is he that put his holy Spirit within him?

11 Pero se acordó de los días antiguos, de Moisés y de su pueblo, diciendo: ¿Dónde está el que los hizo subir del mar con el pastor de su rebaño? ¿Dónde está el que puso en medio de él su santo espíritu;

12 That led them by the right hand of Moses with his glorious arm, dividing the water before them, to make himself an everlasting name?

12 el que los guio por la diestra de Moisés con el brazo de su gloria; el que dividió las aguas delante de ellos, haciéndose así un nombre eterno;

13 That led them through the deep, as an horse in the wilderness, that they should not stumble?

13 el que los condujo por los abismos, como un caballo por el desierto, sin que tropezaran?

14 As a beast goeth down into the valley, the Spirit of the LORD caused him to rest: so didst thou lead thy people, to make thyself a glorious name.

14 El espíritu de Jehová los hizo descansar como a una bestia que desciende al valle; así pastoreaste a tu pueblo, para hacerte un nombre glorioso.

15 Look down from heaven, and behold from the habitation of thy holiness and of thy glory: where is thy zeal and thy strength, the sounding of thy bowels and of thy mercies toward me? are they restrained?

15 Mira desde el cielo y contempla desde la majestuosa morada de tu santidad y de tu gloria. ¿Dónde están tu celo y tu poder, la conmoción de tus entrañas y de tus misericordias para conmigo? ¿Se han retenido?

16 Doubtless thou art our father, though Abraham be ignorant of us, and Israel acknowledge us not: thou, O LORD, art our father, our redeemer; thy name is from everlasting.

16 Tú ciertamente eres nuestro padre, si bien Abraham no nos conoce, e Israel no nos reconoce; tú, oh Jehová, eres nuestro padre; Redentor Nuestro es tu nombre desde la eternidad.

17 O LORD, why hast thou made us to err from thy ways, and hardened our heart from thy fear? Return for thy servants' sake, the tribes of thine inheritance.

17 ¿Por qué, oh Jehová, nos has hecho errar de tus caminos y endureciste nuestro corazón con respecto a tu temor? Vuélvete por amor a tus siervos, por las tribus de tu heredad.

18 The people of thy holiness have possessed it but a little while: our adversaries have trodden down thy sanctuary.

18 Por poco tiempo lo poseyó tu santo pueblo; nuestros adversarios han hollado tu santuario.

19 We are thine: thou never barest rule over them; they were not called by thy name.

19 Hemos venido a ser como aquellos de quienes nunca te enseñoreaste, los cuales nunca fueron llamados por tu nombre.
