1 Now will I sing to my wellbeloved a song of my beloved touching his vineyard. My wellbeloved hath a vineyard in a very fruitful hill:

1 Ahora cantaré a mi amado el cantar de mi amado acerca de su viña. Tenía mi amado una viña en una ladera fértil.

2 And he fenced it, and gathered out the stones thereof, and planted it with the choicest vine, and built a tower in the midst of it, and also made a winepress therein: and he looked that it should bring forth grapes, and it brought forth wild grapes.

2 La había cercado, y despedregado y plantado de vides escogidas; había edificado en medio de ella una torre y también había hecho un lagar en ella; y esperaba que diese uvas, y dio uvas silvestres.

3 And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem, and men of Judah, judge, I pray you, betwixt me and my vineyard.

3 Ahora pues, oh habitantes de Jerusalén y hombres de Judá, juzgad, os ruego, entre yo y mi viña.

4 What could have been done more to my vineyard, that I have not done in it? wherefore, when I looked that it should bring forth grapes, brought it forth wild grapes?

4 ¿Qué más se podía haber hecho a mi viña, que yo no haya hecho en ella? ¿Por qué, cuando yo esperaba que diese uvas, ha dado uvas silvestres?

5 And now go to; I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard: I will take away the hedge thereof, and it shall be eaten up; and break down the wall thereof, and it shall be trodden down:

5 Pues ahora os diré lo que haré yo a mi viña: Le quitaré su vallado, y será consumida; derribaré su cerca, y será hollada.

6 And I will lay it waste: it shall not be pruned, nor digged; but there shall come up briers and thorns: I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain upon it.

6 Haré que quede desierta; no será podada ni cavada, y crecerán el cardo y los espinos; y a las nubes mandaré que no derramen lluvia sobre ella.

7 For the vineyard of the LORD of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah his pleasant plant: and he looked for judgment, but behold oppression; for righteousness, but behold a cry.

7 Porque la viña de Jehová de los ejércitos es la casa de Israel, y los hombres de Judá son su planta deleitosa. Y esperaba justicia, y he aquí vileza; rectitud, y he aquí clamor.

8 Woe unto them that join house to house, that lay field to field, till there be no place, that they may be placed alone in the midst of the earth!

8 ¡Ay de los que acaparan casa tras casa y añaden campo tras campo hasta ocuparlo todo, y así habitaréis vosotros solos en medio de la tierra!

9 In mine ears said the LORD of hosts, Of a truth many houses shall be desolate, even great and fair, without inhabitant.

9 A mis oídos ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos: Ciertamente muchas casas han de quedar asoladas, sin morador, hasta las grandes y hermosas.

10 Yea, ten acres of vineyard shall yield one bath, and the seed of an homer shall yield an ephah.

10 Y diez yugadas de viña producirán un bato, y un homer de semilla producirá un efa.

11 Woe unto them that rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink; that continue until night, till wine inflame them!

11 ¡Ay de los que se levantan de mañana para ir tras las bebidas fuertes y así siguen hasta la noche, hasta que el vino los enciende!

12 And the harp, and the viol, the tabret, and pipe, and wine, are in their feasts: but they regard not the work of the LORD, neither consider the operation of his hands.

12 Y en sus banquetes hay arpas y vihuelas, tamboriles y flautas, y vino; y no consideran la obra de Jehová ni miran la obra de sus manos.

13 Therefore my people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge: and their honourable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst.

13 Por tanto mi pueblo fue llevado cautivo, porque no tuvo conocimiento; y sus hombres honorables perecen de hambre, y su multitud se seca de sed.

14 Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it.

14 Por eso se ensanchó el Seol y sin medida abrió su boca; y allá descenderá la gloria de ellos, y su multitud, y su alboroto y el que en ella se regocijaba.

15 And the mean man shall be brought down, and the mighty man shall be humbled, and the eyes of the lofty shall be humbled:

15 Y el hombre será humillado, y el varón será abatido, y serán bajados los ojos de los altivos.

16 But the LORD of hosts shall be exalted in judgment, and God that is holy shall be sanctified in righteousness.

16 Pero Jehová de los ejércitos será exaltado en juicio, y el Dios Santo será santificado con justicia.

17 Then shall the lambs feed after their manner, and the waste places of the fat ones shall strangers eat.

17 Entonces los corderos pacerán según su costumbre, y extraños comerán en los lugares desolados de los engordados.

18 Woe unto them that draw iniquity with cords of vanity, and sin as it were with a cart rope:

18 ¡Ay de los que traen la iniquidad con cuerdas de vanidad y el pecado como con coyundas de carreta,

19 That say, Let him make speed, and hasten his work, that we may see it: and let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw nigh and come, that we may know it!

19 los cuales dicen: Dése prisa, apresure él su obra para que la veamos; acérquese y venga el consejo del Santo de Israel, para que lo sepamos!

20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

20 ¡Ay de los que a lo malo llaman bueno, y a lo bueno, malo; que hacen de la luz tinieblas y de las tinieblas luz; que ponen lo amargo por dulce y lo dulce por amargo!

21 Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!

21 ¡Ay de los sabios ante sus propios ojos, y de los que son prudentes delante de sí mismos!

22 Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink:

22 ¡Ay de los que son valientes para beber vino, y hombres fuertes para mezclar bebida fuerte;

23 Which justify the wicked for reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him!

23 los que justifican al malvado por cohecho, y al justo quitan su justicia!

24 Therefore as the fire devoureth the stubble, and the flame consumeth the chaff, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust: because they have cast away the law of the LORD of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.

24 Por tanto, como la lengua del fuego consume el rastrojo, y la llama devora la paja, así será su raíz como podredumbre, y su flor se desvanecerá como polvo, porque han desechado la ley de Jehová de los ejércitos y han despreciado la palabra del Santo de Israel.

25 Therefore is the anger of the LORD kindled against his people, and he hath stretched forth his hand against them, and hath smitten them: and the hills did tremble, and their carcases were torn in the midst of the streets. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.

25 Por esta causa se encendió el furor de Jehová contra su pueblo, y extendió contra él su mano y lo hirió; y se estremecieron los montes, y sus cadáveres quedaron como desperdicio en medio de las calles. Con todo esto no ha cesado su furor, sino que su mano está todavía extendida.

26 And he will lift up an ensign to the nations from far, and will hiss unto them from the end of the earth: and, behold, they shall come with speed swiftly:

26 Y alzará estandarte a las naciones lejanas y les silbará desde el extremo de la tierra; y he aquí que vendrán pronto y velozmente.

27 None shall be weary nor stumble among them; none shall slumber nor sleep; neither shall the girdle of their loins be loosed, nor the latchet of their shoes be broken:

27 No habrá entre ellos cansado ni quien tropiece; ninguno se dormirá ni a ninguno le dará sueño; a ninguno se le desatará el cinto de los lomos ni se le romperá la correa de su calzado.

28 Whose arrows are sharp, and all their bows bent, their horses' hoofs shall be counted like flint, and their wheels like a whirlwind:

28 Sus saetas están afiladas y todos sus arcos tensados; los cascos de sus caballos serán como de pedernal; y las ruedas de sus carros, como torbellino.

29 Their roaring shall be like a lion, they shall roar like young lions: yea, they shall roar, and lay hold of the prey, and shall carry it away safe, and none shall deliver it.

29 Su rugido será como de león; rugirán a manera de leoncillos; gruñirán y arrebatarán la presa, y se la llevarán con seguridad, y nadie se la quitará.

30 And in that day they shall roar against them like the roaring of the sea: and if one look unto the land, behold darkness and sorrow, and the light is darkened in the heavens thereof.

30 Y en aquel día rugirán contra ellos como el bramido del mar; y si alguien mira hacia la tierra, he aquí tinieblas y tribulación, y en sus cielos se oscurecerá la luz.
