1 Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.

1 He aquí mi siervo, yo lo sostendré; mi escogido en quien mi alma se complace. He puesto sobre él mi espíritu; él traerá justicia a las naciones.

2 He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street.

2 No clamará, ni alzará su voz ni la hará oír en las calles.

3 A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth.

3 No quebrará la caña cascada ni apagará el pabilo que humea; traerá la justicia con fidelidad.

4 He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law.

4 No se cansará ni desmayará hasta que ponga justicia en la tierra. Y las islas esperarán su ley.

5 Thus saith God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein:

5 Así dice Jehová Dios, Creador de los cielos y el que los despliega, el que extiende la tierra y sus frutos, el que da aliento al pueblo que mora sobre ella y espíritu a los que por ella andan:

6 I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;

6 Yo, Jehová, te he llamado en justicia, y te sostendré de la mano, y te guardaré y te pondré como convenio para el pueblo, como luz para las naciones,

7 To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.

7 para que abras los ojos de los ciegos, para que saques de la cárcel a los presos y de casas de prisión a los que moran en tinieblas.

8 I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.

8 ¡Yo soy Jehová; este es mi nombre! Y a otro no daré mi gloria, ni mi alabanza a imágenes talladas.

9 Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.

9 He aquí, las cosas anteriores se han cumplido, y yo anuncio cosas nuevas; antes que salgan a luz, yo os las haré saber.

10 Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise from the end of the earth, ye that go down to the sea, and all that is therein; the isles, and the inhabitants thereof.

10 Cantad a Jehová un nuevo cántico, su alabanza desde el extremo de la tierra, los que descendéis al mar, y cuanto hay en él, las islas y sus moradores.

11 Let the wilderness and the cities thereof lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar doth inhabit: let the inhabitants of the rock sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains.

11 Alcen la voz el desierto y sus ciudades, las aldeas donde habita Cedar; canten los moradores de Sela; desde la cumbre de los montes den voces de júbilo.

12 Let them give glory unto the LORD, and declare his praise in the islands.

12 Den gloria a Jehová y anuncien sus loores en las islas.

13 The LORD shall go forth as a mighty man, he shall stir up jealousy like a man of war: he shall cry, yea, roar; he shall prevail against his enemies.

13 Jehová saldrá como hombre poderoso, y como hombre de guerra despertará celo; gritará, sí, voceará; prevalecerá sobre sus enemigos.

14 I have long time holden my peace; I have been still, and refrained myself: now will I cry like a travailing woman; I will destroy and devour at once.

14 Desde hace mucho tiempo he callado, he guardado silencio, me he contenido; daré voces como la que está de parto, jadearé y resollaré a la vez.

15 I will make waste mountains and hills, and dry up all their herbs; and I will make the rivers islands, and I will dry up the pools.

15 Devastaré montes y collados, haré secar toda su hierba; los ríos convertiré en islas y secaré los estanques.

16 And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them.

16 Y guiaré a los ciegos por un camino que no conocían, los haré pisar por sendas que no habían conocido; delante de ellos cambiaré las tinieblas en luz y lo escabroso en llanura. Estas cosas les haré y no los desampararé.

17 They shall be turned back, they shall be greatly ashamed, that trust in graven images, that say to the molten images, Ye are our gods.

17 Serán vueltos atrás y en extremo avergonzados los que confían en imágenes talladas y dicen a las imágenes de fundición: Vosotros sois nuestros dioses.

18 Hear, ye deaf; and look, ye blind, that ye may see.

18 Sordos, oíd; y vosotros ciegos, mirad para ver.

19 Who is blind, but my servant? or deaf, as my messenger that I sent? who is blind as he that is perfect, and blind as the LORD's servant?

19 ¿Quién es ciego, sino mi siervo? ¿Quién es sordo como mi mensajero que envié? ¿Quién es tan ciego como el perfecto, y tan ciego como el siervo de Jehová?

20 Seeing many things, but thou observest not; opening the ears, but he heareth not.

20 Tú ves muchas cosas, pero no las observas. Los oídos están abiertos, pero nadie oye.

21 The LORD is well pleased for his righteousness' sake; he will magnify the law, and make it honourable.

21 Jehová se complació, por causa de su justicia, en magnificar la ley y engrandecerla.

22 But this is a people robbed and spoiled; they are all of them snared in holes, and they are hid in prison houses: they are for a prey, and none delivereth; for a spoil, and none saith, Restore.

22 Mas este es un pueblo saqueado y despojado, todos ellos atrapados en cavernas y escondidos en cárceles; se han convertido en botín, y no hay quien los libre; y en despojo, y no hay quien diga: Restituidlos.

23 Who among you will give ear to this? who will hearken and hear for the time to come?

23 ¿Quién de vosotros oirá esto? ¿Quién atenderá y escuchará con respecto al porvenir?

24 Who gave Jacob for a spoil, and Israel to the robbers? did not the LORD, he against whom we have sinned? for they would not walk in his ways, neither were they obedient unto his law.

24 ¿Quién dio a Jacob en botín y entregó a Israel a saqueadores? ¿No fue Jehová, contra quien pecamos? Porque no quisieron andar en sus caminos ni escucharon su ley.

25 Therefore he hath poured upon him the fury of his anger, and the strength of battle: and it hath set him on fire round about, yet he knew not; and it burned him, yet he laid it not to heart.

25 Por tanto, derramó sobre él el furor de su ira y la ferocidad de la guerra; y le prendió fuego alrededor, pero no se dio cuenta; y lo encendió, pero no hizo caso.
