1 Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God.

1 Consolad, consolad a mi pueblo, dice vuestro Dios.

2 Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the LORD's hand double for all her sins.

2 Hablad al corazón de Jerusalén y decidle a voces que su lucha ha terminado, que su iniquidad es perdonada, que ya ha recibido de la mano de Jehová el doble por todos sus pecados.

3 The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.

3 Voz del que clama en el desierto: Preparad el camino de Jehová; enderezad calzada en el yermo para nuestro Dios.

4 Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:

4 Todo valle será alzado, y todo monte y collado serán bajados; y lo torcido será enderezado, y lo áspero será allanado.

5 And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

5 Entonces se manifestará la gloria de Jehová, y toda carne juntamente la verá, porque la boca de Jehová ha hablado.

6 The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field:

6 Una voz que decía: Da voces. Y él respondió: ¿Qué tengo que decir a voces? Toda carne es hierba, y toda su bondad como flor del campo.

7 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass.

7 La hierba se seca, la flor se marchita, porque el aliento de Jehová sopla sobre ella; ciertamente el pueblo es hierba.

8 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

8 Se seca la hierba, se marchita la flor, mas la palabra del Dios nuestro permanece para siempre.

9 O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God!

9 Súbete sobre un monte alto, anunciadora de buenas nuevas de Sion; levanta fuertemente tu voz, anunciadora de buenas nuevas de Jerusalén; levántala, no temas; di a las ciudades de Judá: ¡He aquí al Dios vuestro!

10 Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.

10 He aquí, Jehová el Señor vendrá con poder, y su brazo gobernará por él; he aquí, su recompensa viene con él, y su obra está delante de él.

11 He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.

11 Como pastor apacentará su rebaño; en su brazo recogerá los corderos y en su seno los llevará; conducirá con ternura a las ovejas que todavía están criando.

12 Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?

12 ¿Quién midió las aguas con el hueco de su mano y la extensión de los cielos con su palmo, y puso en una medida el polvo de la tierra, y pesó los montes con balanza y con pesas los collados?

13 Who hath directed the Spirit of the LORD, or being his counsellor hath taught him?

13 ¿Quién dirigió al espíritu de Jehová, o le aconsejó, enseñándole?

14 With whom took he counsel, and who instructed him, and taught him in the path of judgment, and taught him knowledge, and shewed to him the way of understanding?

14 ¿A quién pidió consejo y quién le hizo entender? ¿Quién le enseñó el camino del juicio, o le enseñó conocimiento o le mostró la senda del entendimiento?

15 Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the small dust of the balance: behold, he taketh up the isles as a very little thing.

15 He aquí que las naciones son como una gota de un balde y consideradas como el polvo en la balanza; he aquí, él levanta las islas como al polvo fino.

16 And Lebanon is not sufficient to burn, nor the beasts thereof sufficient for a burnt offering.

16 Ni el Líbano bastará para el fuego, ni todos sus animales para el holocausto.

17 All nations before him are as nothing; and they are counted to him less than nothing, and vanity.

17 Todas las naciones son como nada delante de él; para él cuentan menos que nada y le son vanas.

18 To whom then will ye liken God? or what likeness will ye compare unto him?

18 ¿Con quién, pues, compararéis a Dios, o qué imagen le compondréis?

19 The workman melteth a graven image, and the goldsmith spreadeth it over with gold, and casteth silver chains.

19 El artífice funde la imagen tallada; el orfebre la recubre de oro y le labra cadenas de plata.

20 He that is so impoverished that he hath no oblation chooseth a tree that will not rot; he seeketh unto him a cunning workman to prepare a graven image, that shall not be moved.

20 El que es muy pobre para tal ofrenda escoge madera que no se pudra; se busca un maestro sabio, para que le haga una imagen tallada que no se mueva.

21 Have ye not known? have ye not heard? hath it not been told you from the beginning? have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth?

21 ¿No sabéis? ¿No habéis oído? ¿No os lo han dicho desde el principio? ¿No lo habéis entendido desde la fundación de la tierra?

22 It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:

22 Él está sentado sobre la bóveda de la tierra, cuyos moradores son como langostas; él extiende los cielos como una cortina y los despliega como una tienda para morar.

23 That bringeth the princes to nothing; he maketh the judges of the earth as vanity.

23 Él reduce a la nada a los que gobiernan y a los jueces de la tierra hace como cosa vana.

24 Yea, they shall not be planted; yea, they shall not be sown: yea, their stock shall not take root in the earth: and he shall also blow upon them, and they shall wither, and the whirlwind shall take them away as stubble.

24 Apenas han sido plantados, apenas han sido sembrados, apenas su tronco ha echado raíz en la tierra, cuando él sopla sobre ellos y se secan, y el torbellino los lleva como hojarasca.

25 To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One.

25 ¿Con quién, pues, me compararéis o me haréis semejante?, dice el Santo.

26 Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth.

26 Levantad en alto vuestros ojos y mirad: ¿Quién creó estas cosas? Él saca en orden su hueste; a todas llama por sus nombres; por la grandeza de su vigor y el poder de su fuerza ninguna faltará.

27 Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel, My way is hid from the LORD, and my judgment is passed over from my God?

27 ¿Por qué dices, oh Jacob, y hablas tú, Israel: Mi camino está escondido de Jehová, y mi causa pasa inadvertida a mi Dios?

28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.

28 ¿No has sabido? ¿No has oído que el Dios eterno, Jehová, el cual creó los confines de la tierra, no desfallece ni se fatiga? Su entendimiento es inescrutable.

29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.

29 Él da fuerzas al cansado y multiplica las fuerzas del que no tiene vigor.

30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:

30 Los muchachos se fatigan y se cansan; los jóvenes ciertamente caen;

31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

31 pero los que esperan en Jehová tendrán nuevas fuerzas; levantarán las alas como águilas; correrán y no se cansarán; caminarán y no se fatigarán.
