1 At that time Merodach-baladan, the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present to Hezekiah: for he had heard that he had been sick, and was recovered.

1 En aquel tiempo Merodac-baladán hijo de Baladán, rey de Babilonia, envió cartas y un presente a Ezequías, porque había oído que Ezequías había estado enfermo y que había convalecido.

2 And Hezekiah was glad of them, and shewed them the house of his precious things, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the precious ointment, and all the house of his armour, and all that was found in his treasures: there was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hezekiah shewed them not.

2 Y se regocijó por ellos Ezequías y les mostró la casa de su tesoro: la plata, y el oro, y las especias, y los preciados ungüentos, y toda su casa de armas y todo lo que había en sus tesoros; no hubo cosa en su casa y en todo su dominio que Ezequías no les mostrase.

3 Then came Isaiah the prophet unto king Hezekiah, and said unto him, What said these men? and from whence came they unto thee? And Hezekiah said, They are come from a far country unto me, even from Babylon.

3 Entonces el profeta Isaías vino al rey Ezequías y le dijo: ¿Qué han dicho estos hombres y de dónde han venido a ti? Y Ezequías le respondió: De lejanas tierras han venido a mí, de Babilonia.

4 Then said he, What have they seen in thine house? And Hezekiah answered, All that is in mine house have they seen: there is nothing among my treasures that I have not shewed them.

4 Dijo entonces: ¿Qué han visto en tu casa? Y dijo Ezequías: Todo lo que hay en mi casa han visto, y ninguna cosa hay de mis tesoros que no les haya mostrado.

5 Then said Isaiah to Hezekiah, Hear the word of the LORD of hosts:

5 Entonces dijo Isaías a Ezequías: Oye la palabra de Jehová de los ejércitos:

6 Behold, the days come, that all that is in thine house, and that which thy fathers have laid up in store until this day, shall be carried to Babylon: nothing shall be left, saith the LORD.

6 He aquí, vienen días en que será llevado a Babilonia todo lo que hay en tu casa y lo que tus padres han atesorado hasta hoy; ninguna cosa quedará, dice Jehová.

7 And of thy sons that shall issue from thee, which thou shalt beget, shall they take away; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.

7 Y de tus hijos que saldrán de ti, que tú habrás engendrado, los tomarán, y serán eunucos en el palacio del rey de Babilonia.

8 Then said Hezekiah to Isaiah, Good is the word of the LORD which thou hast spoken. He said moreover, For there shall be peace and truth in my days.

8 Y dijo Ezequías a Isaías: La palabra de Jehová que has hablado es buena. Y añadió: A lo menos, habrá paz y verdad en mis días.
