1 In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came unto him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order: for thou shalt die, and not live.

1 En aquellos días cayó Ezequías enfermo de muerte. Y vino a él el profeta Isaías hijo de Amoz, y le dijo: Jehová ha dicho así: Pon tu casa en orden, porque vas a morir y no vivirás más.

2 Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed unto the LORD,

2 Entonces volvió Ezequías su rostro hacia la pared, e hizo oración a Jehová.

3 And said, Remember now, O LORD, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.

3 Y dijo: Oh Jehová, te ruego te acuerdes ahora de que he andado delante de ti en verdad y con íntegro corazón, y de que he hecho lo bueno ante tus ojos. Y lloró Ezequías con gran llanto.

4 Then came the word of the LORD to Isaiah, saying,

4 Entonces vino la palabra de Jehová a Isaías, diciendo:

5 Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years.

5 Ve y di a Ezequías: Jehová, Dios de tu padre David, dice así: Tu oración he oído y he visto tus lágrimas; he aquí que yo añado a tus días quince años.

6 And I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria: and I will defend this city.

6 Y te libraré a ti y a esta ciudad de manos del rey de Asiria, y a esta ciudad defenderé.

7 And this shall be a sign unto thee from the LORD, that the LORD will do this thing that he hath spoken;

7 Y esto te será como señal de parte de Jehová, que Jehová hará esto que ha dicho:

8 Behold, I will bring again the shadow of the degrees, which is gone down in the sun dial of Ahaz, ten degrees backward. So the sun returned ten degrees, by which degrees it was gone down.

8 He aquí que yo haré retroceder la sombra los diez grados que ya ha descendido con el sol en el reloj de Acaz. Y el sol retrocedió diez grados, por los cuales ya había descendido.

9 The writing of Hezekiah king of Judah, when he had been sick, and was recovered of his sickness:

9 Escrito de Ezequías, rey de Judá, de cuando enfermó y sanó de su enfermedad:

10 I said in the cutting off of my days, I shall go to the gates of the grave: I am deprived of the residue of my years.

10 Yo dije: En medio de mis días iré a las puertas del Seol; privado soy del resto de mis años.

11 I said, I shall not see the LORD, even the LORD, in the land of the living: I shall behold man no more with the inhabitants of the world.

11 Dije: No veré a JAH, a JAH en la tierra de los vivientes; ya no veré más a ningún hombre entre los moradores del mundo.

12 Mine age is departed, and is removed from me as a shepherd's tent: I have cut off like a weaver my life: he will cut me off with pining sickness: from day even to night wilt thou make an end of me.

12 Mi morada ha sido arrebatada y alejada de mí, como tienda de pastor. Como tejedor enrollé mi vida; él la cortará del telar; tú me consumirás entre el día y la noche.

13 I reckoned till morning, that, as a lion, so will he break all my bones: from day even to night wilt thou make an end of me.

13 Estuve en vela hasta la mañana. Como un león, él quebrará todos mis huesos; de la mañana a la noche terminarás conmigo.

14 Like a crane or a swallow, so did I chatter: I did mourn as a dove: mine eyes fail with looking upward: O LORD, I am oppressed; undertake for me.

14 Como la grulla y como la golondrina me quejo; gimo como la paloma; alzo hacia lo alto mis ojos. Oh Jehová, estoy oprimido; ¡ampárame!

15 What shall I say? he hath both spoken unto me, and himself hath done it: I shall go softly all my years in the bitterness of my soul.

15 ¿Qué diré? Él me lo dijo y él mismo lo ha hecho. Andaré pausadamente en la amargura de mi alma todos los años de mi vida.

16 O Lord, by these things men live, and in all these things is the life of my spirit: so wilt thou recover me, and make me to live.

16 Oh Señor, por estas cosas viven los hombres; en todas ellas está la vida de mi espíritu, pues tú me restablecerás y harás que viva.

17 Behold, for peace I had great bitterness: but thou hast in love to my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption: for thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back.

17 He aquí, amargura grande me sobrevino en la paz; pero a ti te agradó librar mi vida de la fosa de corrupción, porque echaste tras tus espaldas todos mis pecados.

18 For the grave cannot praise thee, death can not celebrate thee: they that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth.

18 Porque el Seol no te agradecerá, ni la muerte te alabará. Los que descienden a la fosa no esperarán tu verdad.

19 The living, the living, he shall praise thee, as I do this day: the father to the children shall make known thy truth.

19 El que vive, el que vive, este te alabará, como yo lo hago hoy; el padre dará a conocer tu verdad a los hijos.

20 The LORD was ready to save me: therefore we will sing my songs to the stringed instruments all the days of our life in the house of the LORD.

20 Jehová me salva; por tanto, cantaremos mis cánticos al son de instrumentos de cuerda en la casa de Jehová todos los días de nuestra vida.

21 For Isaiah had said, Let them take a lump of figs, and lay it for a plaster upon the boil, and he shall recover.

21 Y había dicho Isaías: Tomen una masa de higos y pónganla en la llaga, y sanará.

22 Hezekiah also had said, What is the sign that I shall go up to the house of the LORD?

22 Había asimismo dicho Ezequías: ¿Qué señal tendré de que subiré a la casa de Jehová?
