1 Woe to thee that spoilest, and thou wast not spoiled; and dealest treacherously, and they dealt not treacherously with thee! when thou shalt cease to spoil, thou shalt be spoiled; and when thou shalt make an end to deal treacherously, they shall deal treacherously with thee.

1 ¡Ay de ti, que saqueas y nunca fuiste saqueado; que cometes traición, cuando nadie a ti te ha traicionado! Cuando acabes de saquear, serás tú saqueado; y cuando acabes de cometer traición, te traicionarán a ti.

2 O LORD, be gracious unto us; we have waited for thee: be thou their arm every morning, our salvation also in the time of trouble.

2 Oh Jehová, ten misericordia de nosotros; a ti te hemos esperado; se tú brazo de ellos cada mañana; sé también nuestra salvación en tiempo de tribulación.

3 At the noise of the tumult the people fled; at the lifting up of thyself the nations were scattered.

3 Los pueblos huyeron a la voz del estruendo; las naciones fueron esparcidas al levantarte tú.

4 And your spoil shall be gathered like the gathering of the caterpiller: as the running to and fro of locusts shall he run upon them.

4 Y vuestro botín será recogido como cuando se recogen las orugas; él correrá entre ellos como corren las langostas de una parte a otra.

5 The LORD is exalted; for he dwelleth on high: he hath filled Zion with judgment and righteousness.

5 Exaltado es Jehová, quien mora en las alturas; ha llenado a Sion de justicia y de rectitud.

6 And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the LORD is his treasure.

6 Y él será la seguridad de tus tiempos, una riqueza de salvación, de sabiduría y de conocimiento; el temor de Jehová será su tesoro.

7 Behold, their valiant ones shall cry without: the ambassadors of peace shall weep bitterly.

7 He aquí que sus valientes darán voces afuera; los mensajeros de paz llorarán amargamente.

8 The highways lie waste, the wayfaring man ceaseth: he hath broken the covenant, he hath despised the cities, he regardeth no man.

8 Las calzadas están desoladas; ya no pasan los caminantes; ha quebrantado el convenio, ha despreciado las ciudades, tiene en nada a los hombres.

9 The earth mourneth and languisheth: Lebanon is ashamed and hewn down: Sharon is like a wilderness; and Bashan and Carmel shake off their fruits.

9 Se enluta y languidece la tierra; el Líbano se avergüenza y se marchita; Sarón se ha vuelto como desierto, y Basán y el Carmelo fueron sacudidos.

10 Now will I rise, saith the LORD; now will I be exalted; now will I lift up myself.

10 Ahora me levantaré, dice Jehová; ahora seré exaltado, ahora seré engrandecido.

11 Ye shall conceive chaff, ye shall bring forth stubble: your breath, as fire, shall devour you.

11 Concebiréis paja; daréis a luz rastrojo; vuestro aliento como fuego os consumirá.

12 And the people shall be as the burnings of lime: as thorns cut up shall they be burned in the fire.

12 Y los pueblos serán como cal quemada; como espinos cortados serán quemados con fuego.

13 Hear, ye that are far off, what I have done; and, ye that are near, acknowledge my might.

13 Oíd, los que estáis lejos, lo que he hecho; y vosotros, los que estáis cerca, conoced mi poder.

14 The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?

14 Los pecadores en Sion están aterrados; espanto se ha apoderado de los impíos. ¿Quién de nosotros morará con el fuego consumidor? ¿Quién de nosotros habitará con las llamas eternas?

15 He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from seeing evil;

15 El que camina con rectitud y habla lo recto, el que aborrece la ganancia por extorsión, el que sacude sus manos para no recibir soborno, el que tapa sus oídos para no oír propuestas sanguinarias, el que cierra sus ojos para no ver cosa mala,

16 He shall dwell on high: his place of defence shall be the munitions of rocks: bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure.

16 este habitará en las alturas; fortalezas de rocas serán su lugar de refugio; se le dará su pan, y tendrá segura su agua.

17 Thine eyes shall see the king in his beauty: they shall behold the land that is very far off.

17 Tus ojos verán al Rey en su hermosura; verán la tierra que está lejos.

18 Thine heart shall meditate terror. Where is the scribe? where is the receiver? where is he that counted the towers?

18 Tu corazón meditará el espanto y dirá: ¿Dónde está el escriba? ¿Dónde está el pesador? ¿Dónde está el que cuenta las torres?

19 Thou shalt not see a fierce people, a people of a deeper speech than thou canst perceive; of a stammering tongue, that thou canst not understand.

19 No verás a aquel pueblo insolente, pueblo de lengua difícil de entender, de lengua tartamuda que no comprendas.

20 Look upon Zion, the city of our solemnities: thine eyes shall see Jerusalem a quiet habitation, a tabernacle that shall not be taken down; not one of the stakes thereof shall ever be removed, neither shall any of the cords thereof be broken.

20 Mira a Sion, ciudad de nuestras fiestas solemnes; tus ojos verán a Jerusalén, morada de quietud, tienda que no será desarmada, ni serán arrancadas sus estacas ni ninguna de sus cuerdas será rota.

21 But there the glorious LORD will be unto us a place of broad rivers and streams; wherein shall go no galley with oars, neither shall gallant ship pass thereby.

21 Porque ciertamente allí el majestuoso Jehová será para nosotros lugar de ríos y de arroyos muy anchos, por el cual no andará galera de remos, ni por él pasará nave poderosa.

22 For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; he will save us.

22 Porque Jehová es nuestro juez, Jehová es nuestro legislador, Jehová es nuestro Rey; él mismo nos salvará.

23 Thy tacklings are loosed; they could not well strengthen their mast, they could not spread the sail: then is the prey of a great spoil divided; the lame take the prey.

23 Tus cuerdas se han aflojado; no han podido sostener su mástil ni han tensado la vela. Se repartirá entonces botín de muchos despojos; hasta los cojos arrebatarán el botín.

24 And the inhabitant shall not say, I am sick: the people that dwell therein shall be forgiven their iniquity.

24 No dirá el morador: Estoy enfermo; al pueblo que more en ella le será perdonada su iniquidad.
