1 In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah; We have a strong city; salvation will God appoint for walls and bulwarks.

1 En aquel día cantarán este cántico en la tierra de Judá: Fuerte ciudad tenemos; salvación pondrá Dios por muros y baluarte.

2 Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation which keepeth the truth may enter in.

2 Abrid las puertas, para que entre la nación justa guardadora de verdades.

3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

3 Tú guardarás en completa paz a aquel cuyo pensamiento en ti se apoya, porque en ti ha confiado.

4 Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:

4 Confiad en Jehová para siempre, porque en Jehová el Señor está la fortaleza sempiterna.

5 For he bringeth down them that dwell on high; the lofty city, he layeth it low; he layeth it low, even to the ground; he bringeth it even to the dust.

5 Porque derribó a los que moraban en la altura; ha humillado a la ciudad enaltecida, la ha humillado, la ha humillado hasta la tierra, la ha derribado hasta el polvo.

6 The foot shall tread it down, even the feet of the poor, and the steps of the needy.

6 Los pies la hollarán, los pies del afligido, los pasos de los menesterosos.

7 The way of the just is uprightness: thou, most upright, dost weigh the path of the just.

7 El camino del justo es rectitud; tú, que eres recto, allanas el camino del justo.

8 Yea, in the way of thy judgments, O LORD, have we waited for thee; the desire of our soul is to thy name, and to the remembrance of thee.

8 Sí, en el camino de tus juicios, oh Jehová, te hemos esperado; a tu nombre y a tu memoria es el deseo del alma.

9 With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.

9 Con mi alma te he deseado en la noche; sí, con mi espíritu dentro de mí, temprano te buscaré, porque cuando tus juicios están en la tierra, los moradores del mundo aprenden justicia.

10 Let favour be shewed to the wicked, yet will he not learn righteousness: in the land of uprightness will he deal unjustly, and will not behold the majesty of the LORD.

10 Se mostrará piedad al malvado, pero no aprenderá justicia; en tierra de rectitud hará iniquidad y no mirará a la majestad de Jehová.

11 LORD, when thy hand is lifted up, they will not see: but they shall see, and be ashamed for their envy at the people; yea, the fire of thine enemies shall devour them.

11 Jehová, tu mano está alzada, y no ven; pero verán y se avergonzarán por la envidia al pueblo; sí, el fuego de tus enemigos los consumirá.

12 LORD, thou wilt ordain peace for us: for thou also hast wrought all our works in us.

12 Jehová, tú establecerás paz para nosotros, porque también hiciste por nosotros todas nuestras obras.

13 O LORD our God, other lords beside thee have had dominion over us: but by thee only will we make mention of thy name.

13 Jehová, Dios nuestro, otros señores fuera de ti se han enseñoreado de nosotros; pero en ti solamente nos acordaremos de tu nombre.

14 They are dead, they shall not live; they are deceased, they shall not rise: therefore hast thou visited and destroyed them, and made all their memory to perish.

14 Los muertos no vivirán; los espíritus de los muertos no se levantarán, porque los castigaste, y los destruiste y borraste todo recuerdo de ellos.

15 Thou hast increased the nation, O LORD, thou hast increased the nation: thou art glorified: thou hadst removed it far unto all the ends of the earth.

15 Has aumentado la nación, oh Jehová, has aumentado la nación; te has glorificado; la has ensanchado hasta todos los confines de la tierra.

16 LORD, in trouble have they visited thee, they poured out a prayer when thy chastening was upon them.

16 Jehová, en la tribulación te buscaron; derramaron oración cuando los disciplinaste.

17 Like as a woman with child, that draweth near the time of her delivery, is in pain, and crieth out in her pangs; so have we been in thy sight, O LORD.

17 Como la mujer encinta cuando se acerca el parto se retuerce y da gritos en sus dolores, así hemos sido delante de ti, oh Jehová.

18 We have been with child, we have been in pain, we have as it were brought forth wind; we have not wrought any deliverance in the earth; neither have the inhabitants of the world fallen.

18 Concebimos, nos retorcimos, pero dimos a luz solo viento; ninguna liberación hicimos en la tierra, ni cayeron los moradores del mundo.

19 Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.

19 Tus muertos vivirán; junto con mi cuerpo muerto se levantarán. ¡Despertad y cantad, moradores del polvo!, porque tu rocío es cual rocío de hierbas, y la tierra entregará los espíritus de los muertos.

20 Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.

20 Anda, pueblo mío, entra en tus aposentos; cierra tras ti tus puertas; escóndete un poquito, por un momento, en tanto que pasa la indignación.

21 For, behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.

21 Porque he aquí que Jehová sale de su lugar para castigar la iniquidad del morador de la tierra contra él, y la tierra descubrirá sus sangres y no encubrirá ya más a sus muertos.
