1 In the year that Tartan came unto Ashdod, (when Sargon the king of Assyria sent him,) and fought against Ashdod, and took it;

1 El año en que vino Tartán a Asdod, cuando le envió Sargón, rey de Asiria, y peleó contra Asdod y la tomó,

2 At the same time spake the LORD by Isaiah the son of Amoz, saying, Go and loose the sackcloth from off thy loins, and put off thy shoe from thy foot. And he did so, walking naked and barefoot.

2 en aquel tiempo habló Jehová por medio de Isaías hijo de Amoz, diciendo: Ve y quita el cilicio de tus lomos y quita el calzado de tus pies. Y lo hizo así, andando desnudo y descalzo.

3 And the LORD said, Like as my servant Isaiah hath walked naked and barefoot three years for a sign and wonder upon Egypt and upon Ethiopia;

3 Y dijo Jehová: De la manera que anduvo mi siervo Isaías desnudo y descalzo tres años como señal y prodigio sobre Egipto y sobre Etiopía,

4 So shall the king of Assyria lead away the Egyptians prisoners, and the Ethiopians captives, young and old, naked and barefoot, even with their buttocks uncovered, to the shame of Egypt.

4 así llevará el rey de Asiria a los cautivos de Egipto y a los desterrados de Etiopía, a jóvenes y a ancianos, desnudos, y descalzos y descubiertas las nalgas para vergüenza de Egipto.

5 And they shall be afraid and ashamed of Ethiopia their expectation, and of Egypt their glory.

5 Y se turbarán y avergonzarán a causa de Etiopía, su esperanza, y a causa de Egipto, su gloria.

6 And the inhabitant of this isle shall say in that day, Behold, such is our expectation, whither we flee for help to be delivered from the king of Assyria: and how shall we escape?

6 Y dirá en aquel día el habitante de esta costa: He aquí, tal ha sido nuestra esperanza, a la que nos acogimos buscando socorro para ser librados de la presencia del rey de Asiria; ¿y cómo escaparemos?
