1 The burden of Egypt. Behold, the LORD rideth upon a swift cloud, and shall come into Egypt: and the idols of Egypt shall be moved at his presence, and the heart of Egypt shall melt in the midst of it.

1 Profecía sobre Egipto: He aquí que Jehová va montado sobre una veloz nube y entrará en Egipto; y los ídolos de Egipto se estremecerán delante de él, y desfallecerá el corazón de los egipcios dentro de ellos.

2 And I will set the Egyptians against the Egyptians: and they shall fight every one against his brother, and every one against his neighbour; city against city, and kingdom against kingdom.

2 E incitaré a egipcios contra egipcios, y cada uno peleará contra su hermano y cada uno contra su prójimo; ciudad contra ciudad y reino contra reino.

3 And the spirit of Egypt shall fail in the midst thereof; and I will destroy the counsel thereof: and they shall seek to the idols, and to the charmers, and to them that have familiar spirits, and to the wizards.

3 Y el espíritu de Egipto se desvanecerá en medio de él, y destruiré su consejo; y ellos consultarán a sus ídolos, a los que murmuran, a los que evocan a los muertos y a los adivinos.

4 And the Egyptians will I give over into the hand of a cruel lord; and a fierce king shall rule over them, saith the Lord, the LORD of hosts.

4 Y entregaré a Egipto en manos de un amo cruel; y un rey violento se enseñoreará de ellos, dice el Señor Jehová de los ejércitos.

5 And the waters shall fail from the sea, and the river shall be wasted and dried up.

5 Y las aguas del mar se secarán, y el río se agotará y quedará seco.

6 And they shall turn the rivers far away; and the brooks of defence shall be emptied and dried up: the reeds and flags shall wither.

6 Y hederán los ríos; se agotarán y se secarán los canales de Egipto; la caña y el junco se marchitarán.

7 The paper reeds by the brooks, by the mouth of the brooks, and every thing sown by the brooks, shall wither, be driven away, and be no more.

7 Los juncales junto al río, junto a la desembocadura del río, y todos los sembrados del río se secarán, se perderán y no serán más.

8 The fishers also shall mourn, and all they that cast angle into the brooks shall lament, and they that spread nets upon the waters shall languish.

8 Los pescadores también harán duelo; y se lamentarán todos los que echan anzuelo en el río, y desfallecerán los que extienden red sobre las aguas.

9 Moreover they that work in fine flax, and they that weave networks, shall be confounded.

9 Y los que labran lino fino y los que tejen redes serán avergonzados.

10 And they shall be broken in the purposes thereof, all that make sluices and ponds for fish.

10 Y sus fundamentos serán destruidos; y se entristecerán todos los que ganan salario.

11 Surely the princes of Zoan are fools, the counsel of the wise counsellors of Pharaoh is become brutish: how say ye unto Pharaoh, I am the son of the wise, the son of ancient kings?

11 Ciertamente son necios los príncipes de Zoán; el consejo de los sabios consejeros de Faraón se ha vuelto desacertado. ¿Cómo diréis a Faraón: Yo soy hijo de los sabios, hijo de los reyes antiguos?

12 Where are they? where are thy wise men? and let them tell thee now, and let them know what the LORD of hosts hath purposed upon Egypt.

12 ¿Dónde están ahora tus sabios? Que te digan ahora y que te hagan saber lo que Jehová de los ejércitos ha determinado sobre Egipto.

13 The princes of Zoan are become fools, the princes of Noph are deceived; they have also seduced Egypt, even they that are the stay of the tribes thereof.

13 Los príncipes de Zoán han actuado neciamente; han sido engañados los príncipes de Nof; han hecho errar a Egipto los que son la piedra angular de sus tribus.

14 The LORD hath mingled a perverse spirit in the midst thereof: and they have caused Egypt to err in every work thereof, as a drunken man staggereth in his vomit.

14 Jehová ha mezclado espíritu de confusión en medio de él; y han hecho errar a Egipto en toda su obra, como se tambalea el ebrio en su vómito.

15 Neither shall there be any work for Egypt, which the head or tail, branch or rush, may do.

15 Y no habrá para Egipto obra alguna que haga la cabeza o la cola, la rama o el junco.

16 In that day shall Egypt be like unto women: and it shall be afraid and fear because of the shaking of the hand of the LORD of hosts, which he shaketh over it.

16 En aquel día los egipcios serán como mujeres, y temblarán y temerán por causa de la mano alzada de Jehová de los ejércitos que él agitará contra ellos.

17 And the land of Judah shall be a terror unto Egypt, every one that maketh mention thereof shall be afraid in himself, because of the counsel of the LORD of hosts, which he hath determined against it.

17 Y la tierra de Judá será un espanto para Egipto; todo aquel que de ella se acuerde temerá a causa del consejo que Jehová de los ejércitos ha determinado contra él.

18 In that day shall five cities in the land of Egypt speak the language of Canaan, and swear to the LORD of hosts; one shall be called, The city of destruction.

18 En aquel día habrá cinco ciudades en la tierra de Egipto que hablen la lengua de Canaán y que juren lealtad a Jehová de los ejércitos; una será llamada la ciudad de destrucción.

19 In that day shall there be an altar to the LORD in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar at the border thereof to the LORD.

19 En aquel día habrá un altar para Jehová en medio de la tierra de Egipto, y un pilar a Jehová junto a su frontera.

20 And it shall be for a sign and for a witness unto the LORD of hosts in the land of Egypt: for they shall cry unto the LORD because of the oppressors, and he shall send them a saviour, and a great one, and he shall deliver them.

20 Y servirá de señal y de testimonio a Jehová de los ejércitos en la tierra de Egipto, porque a Jehová clamarán a causa de sus opresores; y él les enviará salvador y defensor, y él los librará.

21 And the LORD shall be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians shall know the LORD in that day, and shall do sacrifice and oblation; yea, they shall vow a vow unto the LORD, and perform it.

21 Y Jehová será conocido para Egipto, y los de Egipto conocerán a Jehová en aquel día; y harán sacrificio y ofrenda; y harán voto a Jehová y lo cumplirán.

22 And the LORD shall smite Egypt: he shall smite and heal it: and they shall return even to the LORD, and he shall be entreated of them, and shall heal them.

22 Y Jehová herirá a Egipto; lo herirá y lo sanará. Ellos se convertirán a Jehová, y él los escuchará y los sanará.

23 In that day shall there be a highway out of Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians shall serve with the Assyrians.

23 En aquel día habrá una calzada desde Egipto hasta Asiria, y los asirios entrarán en Egipto y los egipcios en Asiria; y los egipcios servirán con los asirios a Jehová.

24 In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, even a blessing in the midst of the land:

24 En aquel día Israel será tercero con Egipto y con Asiria, para bendición en medio de la tierra,

25 Whom the LORD of hosts shall bless, saying, Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel mine inheritance.

25 a quienes Jehová de los ejércitos bendecirá, diciendo: Bendito sea Egipto, pueblo mío, y Asiria, obra de mis manos, e Israel, mi heredad.
