1 For the LORD will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land: and the strangers shall be joined with them, and they shall cleave to the house of Jacob.

1 Porque Jehová tendrá piedad de Jacob, y todavía escogerá a Israel y lo hará reposar en su propia tierra; y extranjeros se juntarán con ellos y se unirán a la casa de Jacob.

2 And the people shall take them, and bring them to their place: and the house of Israel shall possess them in the land of the LORD for servants and handmaids: and they shall take them captives, whose captives they were; and they shall rule over their oppressors.

2 Y los tomarán los pueblos y los llevarán a su lugar, y la casa de Israel los poseerá como siervos y criadas en la tierra de Jehová; y tomarán cautivos a los que los cautivaron y gobernarán a los que los oprimieron.

3 And it shall come to pass in the day that the LORD shall give thee rest from thy sorrow, and from thy fear, and from the hard bondage wherein thou wast made to serve,

3 Y acontecerá que en el día en que Jehová te dé reposo de tu dolor, y de tu temor y de la dura servidumbre en la que te hicieron servir,

4 That thou shalt take up this proverb against the king of Babylon, and say, How hath the oppressor ceased! the golden city ceased!

4 tomarás este proverbio contra el rey de Babilonia y dirás: ¡Cómo terminó el opresor! ¡Cómo acabó la ciudad codiciosa de oro!

5 The LORD hath broken the staff of the wicked, and the sceptre of the rulers.

5 Jehová ha quebrantado el bastón de los malvados, el cetro de los gobernantes;

6 He who smote the people in wrath with a continual stroke, he that ruled the nations in anger, is persecuted, and none hindereth.

6 el que con ira hería a los pueblos, con golpes incesantes, el que se enseñoreaba de las naciones con furor, en persecución sin impedimento.

7 The whole earth is at rest, and is quiet: they break forth into singing.

7 Toda la tierra descansa y está en calma; han prorrumpido en cánticos.

8 Yea, the fir trees rejoice at thee, and the cedars of Lebanon, saying, Since thou art laid down, no feller is come up against us.

8 Sí, los cipreses se regocijan a causa de ti, y también los cedros del Líbano, diciendo: Desde que tú pereciste, no ha subido talador contra nosotros.

9 Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming: it stirreth up the dead for thee, even all the chief ones of the earth; it hath raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations.

9 El Seol abajo se estremece ante tu llegada; despierta a los espíritus de los muertos para recibirte, a todos los príncipes de la tierra; ha hecho levantar de sus tronos a todos los reyes de las naciones.

10 All they shall speak and say unto thee, Art thou also become weak as we? art thou become like unto us?

10 Todos ellos darán voces y te dirán: ¿También tú te debilitaste como nosotros y llegaste a ser como nosotros?

11 Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, and the noise of thy viols: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee.

11 Descendió al Seol tu soberbia y el sonido de tus arpas; gusanos son tu lecho, y gusanos te cubren.

12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

12 ¡Cómo caíste del cielo, oh Lucifer, hijo de la mañana! Derribado fuiste a tierra, tú que debilitabas a las naciones.

13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

13 Tú que decías en tu corazón: Subiré al cielo. Levantaré mi trono por encima de las estrellas de Dios y me sentaré sobre el monte de la congregación, hacia los lados del norte;

14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

14 sobre las alturas de las nubes subiré; seré semejante al Altísimo.

15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

15 Pero tú has sido derribado hasta el Seol, a los lados del abismo.

16 They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;

16 Los que te vean te mirarán fijamente y te considerarán, diciendo: ¿Es este el hombre que hacía temblar la tierra, que trastornaba los reinos,

17 That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?

17 que puso el mundo como un desierto, que asoló sus ciudades y que a sus presos nunca abrió la cárcel?

18 All the kings of the nations, even all of them, lie in glory, every one in his own house.

18 Todos los reyes de las naciones, todos ellos, yacen con honra, cada uno en su morada.

19 But thou art cast out of thy grave like an abominable branch, and as the raiment of those that are slain, thrust through with a sword, that go down to the stones of the pit; as a carcase trodden under feet.

19 Pero tú echado eres de tu sepulcro como vástago abominable, como ropa de muertos pasados a filo de espada, que descendieron al fondo de la fosa, como cuerpo muerto hollado.

20 Thou shalt not be joined with them in burial, because thou hast destroyed thy land, and slain thy people: the seed of evildoers shall never be renowned.

20 No serás contado con ellos en la sepultura, porque tú destruiste tu tierra, mataste a tu pueblo. No será nombrada jamás la descendencia de los malignos.

21 Prepare slaughter for his children for the iniquity of their fathers; that they do not rise, nor possess the land, nor fill the face of the world with cities.

21 Preparad matadero para sus hijos por la iniquidad de sus padres; no se levanten, ni posean la tierra ni llenen de ciudades la faz del mundo.

22 For I will rise up against them, saith the LORD of hosts, and cut off from Babylon the name, and remnant, and son, and nephew, saith the LORD.

22 Porque yo me levantaré contra ellos, dice Jehová de los ejércitos, y borraré de Babilonia el nombre y los sobrevivientes, la descendencia y la posteridad, dice Jehová.

23 I will also make it a possession for the bittern, and pools of water: and I will sweep it with the besom of destruction, saith the LORD of hosts.

23 Y la convertiré en posesión de erizos y en aguas pantanosas; y la barreré con escoba de destrucción, dice Jehová de los ejércitos.

24 The LORD of hosts hath sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand:

24 Jehová de los ejércitos ha jurado, diciendo: Ciertamente se hará de la manera que lo he pensado, y como lo he determinado, será confirmado;

25 That I will break the Assyrian in my land, and upon my mountains tread him under foot: then shall his yoke depart from off them, and his burden depart from off their shoulders.

25 quebrantaré al asirio en mi tierra y en mis montes lo hollaré; y su yugo será apartado de ellos, y su carga será quitada de sus hombros.

26 This is the purpose that is purposed upon the whole earth: and this is the hand that is stretched out upon all the nations.

26 Este es el propósito acordado para toda la tierra, y esta es la mano extendida contra todas las naciones.

27 For the LORD of hosts hath purposed, and who shall disannul it? and his hand is stretched out, and who shall turn it back?

27 Porque Jehová de los ejércitos lo ha determinado, ¿y quién lo impedirá? Y su mano extendida, ¿quién la hará volver atrás?

28 In the year that king Ahaz died was this burden.

28 El año en que murió el rey Acaz vino esta profecía:

29 Rejoice not thou, whole Palestina, because the rod of him that smote thee is broken: for out of the serpent's root shall come forth a cockatrice, and his fruit shall be a fiery flying serpent.

29 No te alegres tú, Filistea toda, por haberse quebrado la vara del que te hería; porque de la raíz de la culebra saldrá el áspid, y su fruto será una ardiente serpiente voladora.

30 And the firstborn of the poor shall feed, and the needy shall lie down in safety: and I will kill thy root with famine, and he shall slay thy remnant.

30 Y los primogénitos de los pobres serán apacentados, y los menesterosos se acostarán seguros; pero yo haré morir de hambre tu raíz, y se matará a tus sobrevivientes.

31 Howl, O gate; cry, O city; thou, whole Palestina, art dissolved: for there shall come from the north a smoke, and none shall be alone in his appointed times.

31 Aúlla, oh puerta; clama, oh ciudad; disuelta estás por completo, Filistea; porque humo vendrá del norte, no quedará uno solo en sus asambleas.

32 What shall one then answer the messengers of the nation? That the LORD hath founded Zion, and the poor of his people shall trust in it.

32 ¿Y qué se responderá a los mensajeros de la nación? Que Jehová fundó a Sion, y que a ella se acogerán los afligidos de su pueblo.
