1 Woe unto them that decree unrighteous decrees, and that write grievousness which they have prescribed;

1 ¡Ay de los que decretan leyes inicuas y que prescriben opresión,

2 To turn aside the needy from judgment, and to take away the right from the poor of my people, that widows may be their prey, and that they may rob the fatherless!

2 para apartar del juicio a los necesitados y para quitar el derecho a los afligidos de mi pueblo, para que las viudas sean su presa y para despojar a los huérfanos!

3 And what will ye do in the day of visitation, and in the desolation which shall come from far? to whom will ye flee for help? and where will ye leave your glory?

3 ¿Y qué haréis en el día de la visitación y en el asolamiento que vendrá de lejos? ¿A quién os acogeréis para que os ayude? ¿Y en dónde dejaréis vuestra gloria?

4 Without me they shall bow down under the prisoners, and they shall fall under the slain. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.

4 Sin mí se doblegarán ante los presos y entre los muertos caerán. Ni con todo esto ha cesado su furor, sino que su mano aún está extendida.

5 O Assyrian, the rod of mine anger, and the staff in their hand is mine indignation.

5 ¡Oh Asiria, vara de mi furor! El bastón en su mano es mi indignación.

6 I will send him against an hypocritical nation, and against the people of my wrath will I give him a charge, to take the spoil, and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets.

6 La mandaré contra una nación impía, y contra el pueblo de mi ira la enviaré, para que quite los despojos y arrebate la presa, y lo ponga para ser hollado como lodo de las calles.

7 Howbeit he meaneth not so, neither doth his heart think so; but it is in his heart to destroy and cut off nations not a few.

7 Aunque él no lo pensará así, ni su corazón lo imaginará de esta manera, sino que en su corazón estará el destruir y talar naciones no pocas.

8 For he saith, Are not my princes altogether kings?

8 Porque él dice: Mis príncipes, ¿no son todos reyes?

9 Is not Calno as Carchemish? is not Hamath as Arpad? is not Samaria as Damascus?

9 ¿No es Calno como Carquemis, Hamat como Arfad, y Samaria como Damasco?

10 As my hand hath found the kingdoms of the idols, and whose graven images did excel them of Jerusalem and of Samaria;

10 Como mi mano ha hallado los reinos de los ídolos, y sus imágenes talladas excedían a las de Jerusalén y de Samaria;

11 Shall I not, as I have done unto Samaria and her idols, so do to Jerusalem and her idols?

11 como hice a Samaria y a sus ídolos, ¿no haré también así a Jerusalén y a sus ídolos?

12 Wherefore it shall come to pass, that when the Lord hath performed his whole work upon mount Zion and on Jerusalem, I will punish the fruit of the stout heart of the king of Assyria, and the glory of his high looks.

12 Pero acontecerá que después que el Señor haya acabado toda su obra en el monte Sion y en Jerusalén, castigaré el fruto de la soberbia del corazón del rey de Asiria y la gloria de la altivez de sus ojos.

13 For he saith, By the strength of my hand I have done it, and by my wisdom; for I am prudent: and I have removed the bounds of the people, and have robbed their treasures, and I have put down the inhabitants like a valiant man:

13 Porque dice: Con el poder de mi mano lo he hecho y con mi sabiduría, porque soy prudente, y he quitado las fronteras de los pueblos, y he saqueado sus tesoros y he derribado como un valiente a los habitantes;

14 And my hand hath found as a nest the riches of the people: and as one gathereth eggs that are left, have I gathered all the earth; and there was none that moved the wing, or opened the mouth, or peeped.

14 y halló mi mano como nido las riquezas de los pueblos; y como se juntan los huevos abandonados, así junté yo de toda la tierra; y no hubo quien moviese ala, ni abriese boca ni cantase.

15 Shall the axe boast itself against him that heweth therewith? or shall the saw magnify itself against him that shaketh it? as if the rod should shake itself against them that lift it up, or as if the staff should lift up itself, as if it were no wood.

15 ¿Se jactará el hacha contra el que con ella corta? ¿Se exaltará la sierra contra el que la mueve? ¡Como si el bastón levantase a los que lo levantan! ¡Como si levantase la vara al que no es leño!

16 Therefore shall the Lord, the Lord of hosts, send among his fat ones leanness; and under his glory he shall kindle a burning like the burning of a fire.

16 Por tanto, el Señor Jehová de los ejércitos enviará flaqueza entre sus robustos, y debajo de su gloria encenderá una hoguera como fuego abrasador.

17 And the light of Israel shall be for a fire, and his Holy One for a flame: and it shall burn and devour his thorns and his briers in one day;

17 Y la luz de Israel será por fuego, y su Santo por llama que abrase y consuma en un día sus cardos y sus espinos.

18 And shall consume the glory of his forest, and of his fruitful field, both soul and body: and they shall be as when a standardbearer fainteth.

18 La gloria de su bosque y de su campo fértil consumirá alma y cuerpo, y vendrá a ser como enfermo que desfallece.

19 And the rest of the trees of his forest shall be few, that a child may write them.

19 Y los árboles que queden en su bosque serán tan pocos en número que un niño los podrá contar.

20 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the remnant of Israel, and such as are escaped of the house of Jacob, shall no more again stay upon him that smote them; but shall stay upon the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, in truth.

20 Y acontecerá en aquel día que el remanente de Israel y los de la casa de Jacob que hayan escapado nunca más se apoyarán en el que los hirió, sino que se apoyarán con verdad en Jehová, el Santo de Israel.

21 The remnant shall return, even the remnant of Jacob, unto the mighty God.

21 El remanente volverá, el remanente de Jacob volverá al Dios fuerte.

22 For though thy people Israel be as the sand of the sea, yet a remnant of them shall return: the consumption decreed shall overflow with righteousness.

22 Porque aunque tu pueblo Israel sea como las arenas del mar, el remanente de él volverá; la consumación decretada rebosará justicia.

23 For the Lord GOD of hosts shall make a consumption, even determined, in the midst of all the land.

23 Pues el Señor Jehová de los ejércitos hará la consumación ya determinada en medio de toda la tierra.

24 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD of hosts, O my people that dwellest in Zion, be not afraid of the Assyrian: he shall smite thee with a rod, and shall lift up his staff against thee, after the manner of Egypt.

24 Por tanto, el Señor Jehová de los ejércitos dice así: Oh pueblo mío, morador de Sion, no tengas temor a Asiria. Con vara te herirá y contra ti alzará su palo, a la manera de Egipto;

25 For yet a very little while, and the indignation shall cease, and mine anger in their destruction.

25 porque de aquí a muy poco tiempo se acabará la indignación, y mi enojo será para destrucción de ellos.

26 And the LORD of hosts shall stir up a scourge for him according to the slaughter of Midian at the rock of Oreb: and as his rod was upon the sea, so shall he lift it up after the manner of Egypt.

26 Y levantará Jehová de los ejércitos azote contra él, como la matanza de Madián en la peña de Oreb, y alzará su vara sobre el mar, a la manera de Egipto.

27 And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.

27 Y acaecerá en aquel día que su carga será quitada de tu hombro, y su yugo de tu cerviz; y el yugo será destruido a causa de la unción.

28 He is come to Aiath, he is passed to Migron; at Michmash he hath laid up his carriages:

28 Ha llegado hasta Ajat, ha pasado a Migrón, y en Micmas ha dejado su bagaje.

29 They are gone over the passage: they have taken up their lodging at Geba; Ramah is afraid; Gibeah of Saul is fled.

29 Han pasado el vado; se han alojado en Geba; Ramá tiembla de miedo; Gabaa de Saúl ha huido.

30 Lift up thy voice, O daughter of Gallim: cause it to be heard unto Laish, O poor Anathoth.

30 Grita en alta voz, oh hija de Galim; haz que se oiga hasta Lais, oh pobrecilla Anatot.

31 Madmenah is removed; the inhabitants of Gebim gather themselves to flee.

31 Madmena ha huido; los habitantes de Gebim buscan refugio.

32 As yet shall he remain at Nob that day: he shall shake his hand against the mount of the daughter of Zion, the hill of Jerusalem.

32 Aún vendrá el día en que, estando en Nob, alzará su mano contra el monte de la hija de Sion, contra el collado de Jerusalén.

33 Behold, the Lord, the LORD of hosts, shall lop the bough with terror: and the high ones of stature shall be hewn down, and the haughty shall be humbled.

33 He aquí, el Señor Jehová de los ejércitos desgajará la rama con espantoso poder; y los de gran altura serán talados, y los altivos serán humillados.

34 And he shall cut down the thickets of the forest with iron, and Lebanon shall fall by a mighty one.

34 Y cortará con hierro la espesura del bosque, y el Líbano caerá por el poderoso.
