1 The vision of Isaiah the son of Amoz, which he saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah.

1 Visión de Isaías hijo de Amoz, la cual vio acerca de Judá y de Jerusalén en los días de Uzías, de Jotam, de Acaz y de Ezequías, reyes de Judá.

2 Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth: for the LORD hath spoken, I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me.

2 Oíd, cielos, y escucha tú, tierra, porque habla Jehová: Crie hijos y los engrandecí, pero ellos se rebelaron contra mí.

3 The ox knoweth his owner, and the ass his master's crib: but Israel doth not know, my people doth not consider.

3 El buey conoce a su dueño, y el asno el pesebre de su señor, pero Israel no conoce; mi pueblo no entiende.

4 Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken the LORD, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they are gone away backward.

4 ¡Oh nación pecadora, pueblo cargado de maldad, generación de malhechores, hijos depravados! Dejaron a Jehová, despreciaron al Santo de Israel, se volvieron atrás.

5 Why should ye be stricken any more? ye will revolt more and more: the whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint.

5 ¿Por qué habéis de ser golpeados aún? ¿Todavía os rebelaréis? Toda cabeza está enferma, y todo corazón está desfallecido.

6 From the sole of the foot even unto the head there is no soundness in it; but wounds, and bruises, and putrifying sores: they have not been closed, neither bound up, neither mollified with ointment.

6 Desde la planta del pie hasta la cabeza no hay en él cosa sana, sino heridas, y moretones y llagas recientes; no están curadas, ni vendadas ni suavizadas con aceite.

7 Your country is desolate, your cities are burned with fire: your land, strangers devour it in your presence, and it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers.

7 Vuestra tierra está desolada, vuestras ciudades quemadas con fuego, vuestra tierra delante de vosotros devorada por extranjeros y desolada como derrocada por extraños.

8 And the daughter of Zion is left as a cottage in a vineyard, as a lodge in a garden of cucumbers, as a besieged city.

8 Y queda la hija de Sion como enramada en viña, como choza en melonar, como ciudad sitiada.

9 Except the LORD of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah.

9 Si Jehová de los ejércitos no nos hubiera dejado un resto pequeño, seríamos como Sodoma, semejantes a Gomorra.

10 Hear the word of the LORD, ye rulers of Sodom; give ear unto the law of our God, ye people of Gomorrah.

10 Príncipes de Sodoma, oíd la palabra de Jehová. Escuchad la ley de nuestro Dios, pueblo de Gomorra.

11 To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the LORD: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats.

11 ¿Para qué me sirve, dice Jehová, la multitud de vuestros sacrificios? Hastiado estoy de holocaustos de carneros y de grasa de animales engordados; no quiero sangre de bueyes, ni de ovejas ni de machos cabríos.

12 When ye come to appear before me, who hath required this at your hand, to tread my courts?

12 ¿Quién demanda esto de vuestras manos cuando venís a presentaros delante de mí para hollar mis atrios?

13 Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot away with; it is iniquity, even the solemn meeting.

13 No me traigáis más vana ofrenda; el incienso me es abominación; luna nueva y día de reposo, el convocar asambleas, no lo puedo soportar; son iniquidad vuestras fiestas solemnes.

14 Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth: they are a trouble unto me; I am weary to bear them.

14 Vuestras lunas nuevas y vuestras fiestas solemnes las aborrece mi alma; me son una carga; cansado estoy de soportarlas.

15 And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.

15 Cuando extendáis vuestras manos, yo esconderé de vosotros mis ojos; asimismo, cuando multipliquéis la oración, yo no oiré; llenas están de sangre vuestras manos.

16 Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;

16 Lavaos, limpiaos; quitad la iniquidad de vuestras obras de delante de mis ojos; dejad de hacer lo malo.

17 Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.

17 Aprended a hacer el bien; buscad el juicio, socorred al oprimido; haced justicia al huérfano, abogad por la viuda.

18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

18 Venid ahora, dice Jehová, y razonemos juntos: aunque vuestros pecados sean como la grana, como la nieve serán emblanquecidos; aunque sean rojos como el carmesí, vendrán a ser como blanca lana.

19 If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:

19 Si queréis y escucháis, comeréis lo bueno de la tierra;

20 But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

20 pero si rehusáis y os rebeláis, seréis devorados por la espada, porque la boca de Jehová lo ha dicho.

21 How is the faithful city become an harlot! it was full of judgment; righteousness lodged in it; but now murderers.

21 ¡Cómo te has convertido en ramera, oh ciudad fiel! Llena estaba de justicia; en ella habitaba la equidad, pero ahora, homicidas.

22 Thy silver is become dross, thy wine mixed with water:

22 Tu plata se ha convertido en escoria; tu vino está mezclado con agua.

23 Thy princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves: every one loveth gifts, and followeth after rewards: they judge not the fatherless, neither doth the cause of the widow come unto them.

23 Tus gobernantes son rebeldes y compañeros de ladrones; todos aman el soborno y van tras las recompensas; no hacen justicia al huérfano, ni llega a ellos la causa de la viuda.

24 Therefore saith the Lord, the LORD of hosts, the mighty One of Israel, Ah, I will ease me of mine adversaries, and avenge me of mine enemies:

24 Por tanto, dice el Señor Jehová de los ejércitos, el Poderoso de Israel: ¡Ah!, tomaré satisfacción de mis adversarios y me vengaré de mis enemigos;

25 And I will turn my hand upon thee, and purely purge away thy dross, and take away all thy tin:

25 y volveré mi mano contra ti, y limpiaré hasta con lejía tu escoria y quitaré toda tu impureza;

26 And I will restore thy judges as at the first, and thy counsellors as at the beginning: afterward thou shalt be called, The city of righteousness, the faithful city.

26 y restauraré tus jueces como al principio, y tus consejeros como eran antes; entonces te llamarán Ciudad de justicia, Ciudad fiel.

27 Zion shall be redeemed with judgment, and her converts with righteousness.

27 Sion será redimida con justicia; y los convertidos de ella, con rectitud.

28 And the destruction of the transgressors and of the sinners shall be together, and they that forsake the LORD shall be consumed.

28 Pero los rebeldes y los pecadores a una serán quebrantados, y los que dejan a Jehová serán consumidos.

29 For they shall be ashamed of the oaks which ye have desired, and ye shall be confounded for the gardens that ye have chosen.

29 Entonces ellos se avergonzarán de las encinas que amasteis, y os abochornaréis de los jardines que escogisteis.

30 For ye shall be as an oak whose leaf fadeth, and as a garden that hath no water.

30 Porque seréis como la encina a la que se le cae la hoja y como el jardín al que le faltan las aguas.

31 And the strong shall be as tow, and the maker of it as a spark, and they shall both burn together, and none shall quench them.

31 Y el fuerte será como estopa, y su trabajo será como una chispa; y ambos serán encendidos juntamente, y no habrá quien los apague.
