1 When I would have healed Israel, then the iniquity of Ephraim was discovered, and the wickedness of Samaria: for they commit falsehood; and the thief cometh in, and the troop of robbers spoileth without.

1 Mientras yo quería curar a Israel, se descubrió la iniquidad de Efraín y las maldades de Samaria, porque hacen engaño; y entra el ladrón, y la banda de salteadores despoja por fuera.

2 And they consider not in their hearts that I remember all their wickedness: now their own doings have beset them about; they are before my face.

2 Y no consideran en su corazón que tengo memoria de toda su maldad; ahora los rodean sus propias obras; delante de mí están.

3 They make the king glad with their wickedness, and the princes with their lies.

3 Con su maldad alegran al rey, y a los príncipes con sus mentiras.

4 They are all adulterers, as an oven heated by the baker, who ceaseth from raising after he hath kneaded the dough, until it be leavened.

4 Todos ellos son adúlteros; son como horno encendido por el hornero, que cesa de avivar el fuego después que está hecha la masa, hasta que se haya leudado.

5 In the day of our king the princes have made him sick with bottles of wine; he stretched out his hand with scorners.

5 En el día de nuestro rey, los príncipes lo hicieron enfermar con copas de vino; extendió su mano con los escarnecedores.

6 For they have made ready their heart like an oven, whiles they lie in wait: their baker sleepeth all the night; in the morning it burneth as a flaming fire.

6 Porque disponen su corazón para la intriga, como se prepara un horno; toda la noche duerme su hornero; a la mañana está encendido como llama de fuego.

7 They are all hot as an oven, and have devoured their judges; all their kings are fallen: there is none among them that calleth unto me.

7 Todos ellos arden como un horno y devoran a sus jueces; han caído todos sus reyes; no hay entre ellos quien a mí clame.

8 Ephraim, he hath mixed himself among the people; Ephraim is a cake not turned.

8 Efraín se mezcla con los demás pueblos; Efraín es como torta no volteada.

9 Strangers have devoured his strength, and he knoweth it not: yea, gray hairs are here and there upon him, yet he knoweth not.

9 Extraños han devorado sus fuerzas, y él no lo sabe; y aun las canas se han esparcido sobre él, y él no lo sabe.

10 And the pride of Israel testifieth to his face: and they do not return to the LORD their God, nor seek him for all this.

10 Y la soberbia de Israel testificará contra él en su propia cara; y ellos no se vuelven a Jehová su Dios ni le buscan a pesar de todo eso.

11 Ephraim also is like a silly dove without heart: they call to Egypt, they go to Assyria.

11 Y Efraín es como una paloma incauta, sin entendimiento; llaman a Egipto, acuden a Asiria.

12 When they shall go, I will spread my net upon them; I will bring them down as the fowls of the heaven; I will chastise them, as their congregation hath heard.

12 Cuando vayan, tenderé sobre ellos mi red; los haré caer como aves del cielo; los castigaré conforme a lo que se ha oído en su congregación.

13 Woe unto them! for they have fled from me: destruction unto them! because they have transgressed against me: though I have redeemed them, yet they have spoken lies against me.

13 ¡Ay de ellos, porque se apartaron de mí! ¡Destrucción sobre ellos, porque contra mí transgredieron! Yo los redimiría, pero ellos hablaron mentiras contra mí.

14 And they have not cried unto me with their heart, when they howled upon their beds: they assemble themselves for corn and wine, and they rebel against me.

14 Y no clamaron a mí con su corazón cuando gemían sobre sus camas; por el trigo y el mosto se congregaron; se rebelaron contra mí.

15 Though I have bound and strengthened their arms, yet do they imagine mischief against me.

15 Aunque yo adiestré y fortalecí sus brazos, contra mí traman el mal.

16 They return, but not to the most High: they are like a deceitful bow: their princes shall fall by the sword for the rage of their tongue: this shall be their derision in the land of Egypt.

16 Se volvieron, pero no al Altísimo; fueron como arco engañoso; caerán sus príncipes a espada por la insolencia de su lengua; esto será su escarnio en la tierra de Egipto.
