1 When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt.

1 Cuando Israel era niño, yo lo amé, y de Egipto llamé a mi hijo.

2 As they called them, so they went from them: they sacrificed unto Baalim, and burned incense to graven images.

2 Cuanto más los llamaban los profetas, más se alejaban de ellos; a los baales ofrecían sacrificios y a las imágenes talladas quemaban incienso.

3 I taught Ephraim also to go, taking them by their arms; but they knew not that I healed them.

3 Yo con todo eso enseñaba a andar al mismo Efraín, tomándolo por los brazos; pero ellos no comprendieron que yo los sanaba.

4 I drew them with cords of a man, with bands of love: and I was to them as they that take off the yoke on their jaws, and I laid meat unto them.

4 Con cuerdas humanas los atraje, con cuerdas de amor; y fui para ellos como los que alzan el yugo de sobre su cerviz, y puse delante de ellos la comida.

5 He shall not return into the land of Egypt, but the Assyrian shall be his king, because they refused to return.

5 No volverá a tierra de Egipto, sino que el mismo asirio será su rey, porque no quisieron volverse a mí.

6 And the sword shall abide on his cities, and shall consume his branches, and devour them, because of their own counsels.

6 Y caerá la espada sobre sus ciudades y consumirá sus aldeas, y las consumirá a causa de sus propios consejos.

7 And my people are bent to backsliding from me: though they called them to the most High, none at all would exalt him.

7 Y mi pueblo está aferrado a la rebelión contra mí; aunque llaman al Altísimo, ninguno absolutamente quiere enaltecer le.

8 How shall I give thee up, Ephraim? how shall I deliver thee, Israel? how shall I make thee as Admah? how shall I set thee as Zeboim? mine heart is turned within me, my repentings are kindled together.

8 ¿Cómo podré abandonarte, oh Efraín? ¿Te entregaré yo, Israel? ¿Cómo podré yo hacerte como Adma o ponerte como a Zeboim? Mi corazón se conmueve dentro de mí, se inflama toda mi compasión.

9 I will not execute the fierceness of mine anger, I will not return to destroy Ephraim: for I am God, and not man; the Holy One in the midst of thee: and I will not enter into the city.

9 No ejecutaré el furor de mi ira ni volveré para destruir a Efraín, porque Dios soy, y no hombre; soy el Santo en medio de ti, y no entraré en la ciudad.

10 They shall walk after the LORD: he shall roar like a lion: when he shall roar, then the children shall tremble from the west.

10 En pos de Jehová caminarán; él rugirá como león; cuando ruja, entonces los hijos vendrán temblando del occidente.

11 They shall tremble as a bird out of Egypt, and as a dove out of the land of Assyria: and I will place them in their houses, saith the LORD.

11 Acudirán temblando como ave de Egipto y como paloma de la tierra de Asiria; y los haré morar en sus casas, dice Jehová.

12 Ephraim compasseth me about with lies, and the house of Israel with deceit: but Judah yet ruleth with God, and is faithful with the saints.

12 Me rodeó Efraín con mentira, y la casa de Israel con engaño, pero Judá aún camina con Dios y es fiel con los santos.
