1 Then again Abraham took a wife, and her name was Keturah.

1 Y Abraham tomó otra esposa, cuyo nombre era Cetura,

2 And she bare him Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah.

2 la cual le dio a luz a Zimram, y a Jocsán, y a Medán, y a Madián, y a Isbac y a Súa.

3 And Jokshan begat Sheba, and Dedan. And the sons of Dedan were Asshurim, and Letushim, and Leummim.

3 Y Jocsán engendró a Seba y a Dedán; e hijos de Dedán fueron Asurim, y Letusim y Leumim.

4 And the sons of Midian; Ephah, and Epher, and Hanoch, and Abida, and Eldaah. All these were the children of Keturah.

4 E hijos de Madián: Efa, y Efer, y Hanoc, y Abida y Elda. Todos estos fueron hijos de Cetura.

5 And Abraham gave all that he had unto Isaac.

5 Y Abraham dio todo cuanto tenía a Isaac.

6 But unto the sons of the concubines, which Abraham had, Abraham gave gifts, and sent them away from Isaac his son, while he yet lived, eastward, unto the east country.

6 Y a los hijos de sus concubinas dio Abraham regalos y los envió lejos de Isaac, su hijo, mientras él vivía, hacia el oriente, a la tierra oriental.

7 And these are the days of the years of Abraham's life which he lived, an hundred threescore and fifteen years.

7 Y estos fueron los días de vida que vivió Abraham: ciento setenta y cinco años.

8 Then Abraham gave up the ghost, and died in a good old age, an old man, and full of years; and was gathered to his people.

8 Y exhaló el espíritu y murió Abraham en buena vejez, anciano y lleno de días, y fue reunido con su pueblo.

9 And his sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the cave of Machpelah, in the field of Ephron the son of Zohar the Hittite, which is before Mamre;

9 Y lo sepultaron Isaac e Ismael, sus hijos, en la cueva de Macpela, en la propiedad de Efrón hijo de Zohar heteo, que está enfrente de Mamre,

10 The field which Abraham purchased of the sons of Heth: there was Abraham buried, and Sarah his wife.

10 propiedad que compró Abraham a los hijos de Het; allí fue Abraham sepultado, y Sara, su esposa.

11 And it came to pass after the death of Abraham, that God blessed his son Isaac; and Isaac dwelt by the well Lahai-roi.

11 Y sucedió, después de muerto Abraham, que Dios bendijo a su hijo Isaac; y habitó Isaac junto al pozo Lajai-roi.

12 Now these are the generations of Ishmael, Abraham's son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah's handmaid, bare unto Abraham:

12 Y estas son las generaciones de Ismael hijo de Abraham, que le dio a luz Agar, la egipcia, sierva de Sara.

13 And these are the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, according to their generations: the firstborn of Ishmael, Nebajoth; and Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam,

13 Estos, pues, son los nombres de los hijos de Ismael, por sus nombres y por el orden de su nacimiento: El primogénito de Ismael, Nebaiot; luego Cedar, y Abdeel, y Mibsam,

14 And Mishma, and Dumah, and Massa,

14 y Misma, y Duma, y Massa,

15 Hadar, and Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah:

15 Hadar, y Tema, y Jetur, y Nafis y Cedema.

16 These are the sons of Ishmael, and these are their names, by their towns, and by their castles; twelve princes according to their nations.

16 Estos son los hijos de Ismael y estos sus nombres por sus villas y por sus campamentos, doce príncipes según sus tribus.

17 And these are the years of the life of Ishmael, an hundred and thirty and seven years: and he gave up the ghost and died; and was gathered unto his people.

17 Y estos fueron los años de la vida de Ismael: ciento treinta y siete años; y exhaló el espíritu Ismael, y murió y fue reunido con su pueblo.

18 And they dwelt from Havilah unto Shur, that is before Egypt, as thou goest toward Assyria: and he died in the presence of all his brethren.

18 Y habitaron desde Havila hasta Shur, que está enfrente de Egipto yendo a Asiria; y murió en presencia de todos sus hermanos.

19 And these are the generations of Isaac, Abraham's son: Abraham begat Isaac:

19 Y estas son las generaciones de Isaac hijo de Abraham: Abraham engendró a Isaac;

20 And Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah to wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padan-aram, the sister to Laban the Syrian.

20 y era Isaac de cuarenta años cuando tomó por esposa a Rebeca hija de Betuel, arameo de Padán-aram, hermana de Labán arameo.

21 And Isaac entreated the LORD for his wife, because she was barren: and the LORD was entreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived.

21 Y oró Isaac a Jehová por su esposa, que era estéril; y lo aceptó Jehová, y concibió Rebeca, su esposa.

22 And the children struggled together within her; and she said, If it be so, why am I thus? And she went to inquire of the LORD.

22 Y los hijos luchaban dentro de ella, y dijo: Si es así, ¿para qué vivo yo? Y fue a consultar a Jehová.

23 And the LORD said unto her, Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger.

23 Y le respondió Jehová: Dos naciones hay en tu vientre, y dos pueblos serán divididos desde tus entrañas; y un pueblo será más fuerte que el otro pueblo, y el mayor servirá al menor.

24 And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb.

24 Y cuando se cumplieron sus días para dar a luz, he aquí, había mellizos en su vientre.

25 And the first came out red, all over like an hairy garment; and they called his name Esau.

25 Y salió el primero rubio y era todo velludo como una pelliza, y llamaron su nombre Esaú.

26 And after that came his brother out, and his hand took hold on Esau's heel; and his name was called Jacob: and Isaac was threescore years old when she bare them.

26 Y después salió su hermano, trabada su mano al calcañar de Esaú; y fue llamado su nombre Jacob. Y era Isaac de edad de sesenta años cuando ella los dio a luz.

27 And the boys grew: and Esau was a cunning hunter, a man of the field; and Jacob was a plain man, dwelling in tents.

27 Y crecieron los niños, y Esaú fue diestro en la caza, hombre del campo; pero Jacob era hombre quieto, que habitaba en tiendas.

28 And Isaac loved Esau, because he did eat of his venison: but Rebekah loved Jacob.

28 Y amó Isaac a Esaú, porque comía de su caza; mas Rebeca amaba a Jacob.

29 And Jacob sod pottage: and Esau came from the field, and he was faint:

29 Y guisó Jacob un potaje; y volviendo Esaú del campo, cansado,

30 And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red pottage; for I am faint: therefore was his name called Edom.

30 dijo a Jacob: Te ruego que me des a comer de ese guiso rojo, pues estoy muy cansado. Por eso Esaú fue llamado Edom.

31 And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright.

31 Y Jacob respondió: Véndeme en este día tu primogenitura.

32 And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me?

32 Entonces dijo Esaú: He aquí yo me voy a morir, ¿para qué, pues, me servirá la primogenitura?

33 And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he sware unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob.

33 Y dijo Jacob: Júrame lo en este día. Y él se lo juró y vendió a Jacob su primogenitura.

34 Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised his birthright.

34 Entonces Jacob dio a Esaú pan y del guisado de las lentejas; y él comió y bebió, y se levantó y se fue. Así menospreció Esaú la primogenitura.
