1 These are now the chief of their fathers, and this is the genealogy of them that went up with me from Babylon, in the reign of Artaxerxes the king.

1 Y estos son los jefes de las casas paternas y la genealogía de aquellos que subieron conmigo desde Babilonia, cuando reinaba el rey Artajerjes:

2 Of the sons of Phinehas; Gershom: of the sons of Ithamar; Daniel: of the sons of David; Hattush.

2 De los hijos de Finees, Gersón; de los hijos de Itamar, Daniel; de los hijos de David, Hatús.

3 Of the sons of Shechaniah, of the sons of Pharosh; Zechariah: and with him were reckoned by genealogy of the males an hundred and fifty.

3 De los hijos de Secanías, de los hijos de Paros, Zacarías, y con él fueron anotados por su genealogía ciento cincuenta varones.

4 Of the sons of Pahath-moab; Elihoenai the son of Zerahiah, and with him two hundred males.

4 De los hijos de Pahat-moab, Elioenai hijo de Zeraías, y con él doscientos varones.

5 Of the sons of Shechaniah; the son of Jahaziel, and with him three hundred males.

5 De los hijos de Secanías, el hijo de Jahaziel, y con él trescientos varones.

6 Of the sons also of Adin; Ebed the son of Jonathan, and with him fifty males.

6 Y de los hijos de Adín, Ebed hijo de Jonatán, y con él cincuenta varones.

7 And of the sons of Elam; Jeshaiah the son of Athaliah, and with him seventy males.

7 Y de los hijos de Elam, Jesaías hijo de Atalías, y con él setenta varones.

8 And of the sons of Shephatiah; Zebadiah the son of Michael, and with him fourscore males.

8 Y de los hijos de Sefatías, Zebadías hijo de Micael, y con él ochenta varones.

9 Of the sons of Joab; Obadiah the son of Jehiel, and with him two hundred and eighteen males.

9 De los hijos de Joab, Obadías hijo de Jehiel, y con él doscientos dieciocho varones.

10 And of the sons of Shelomith; the son of Josiphiah, and with him an hundred and threescore males.

10 Y de los hijos de Selomit, el hijo de Josifías, y con él ciento sesenta varones.

11 And of the sons of Bebai; Zechariah the son of Bebai, and with him twenty and eight males.

11 Y de los hijos de Bebai, Zacarías hijo de Bebai, y con él veintiocho varones.

12 And of the sons of Azgad; Johanan the son of Hakkatan, and with him an hundred and ten males.

12 Y de los hijos de Azgad, Johanán hijo de Hacatán, y con él ciento diez varones.

13 And of the last sons of Adonikam, whose names are these, Eliphelet, Jeiel, and Shemaiah, and with them threescore males.

13 Y de los últimos hijos de Adonicam, cuyos nombres son estos: Elifelet, Jeiel y Semaías, y con ellos sesenta varones.

14 Of the sons also of Bigvai; Uthai, and Zabbud, and with them seventy males.

14 Y de los hijos de Bigvai, Utai y Zabud, y con ellos setenta varones.

15 And I gathered them together to the river that runneth to Ahava; and there abode we in tents three days: and I viewed the people, and the priests, and found there none of the sons of Levi.

15 Y los reuní junto al río que corre hacia Ahava, y acampamos allí tres días; y habiendo buscado entre el pueblo y entre los sacerdotes, no hallé allí a ninguno de los hijos de Leví.

16 Then sent I for Eliezer, for Ariel, for Shemaiah, and for Elnathan, and for Jarib, and for Elnathan, and for Nathan, and for Zechariah, and for Meshullam, chief men; also for Joiarib, and for Elnathan, men of understanding.

16 Entonces envié a llamar a Eliezer, a Ariel, a Semaías, y a Elnatán, y a Jarib, y a Elnatán, y a Natán, y a Zacarías y a Mesulam, jefes, así como a Joiarib y a Elnatán, hombres entendidos;

17 And I sent them with commandment unto Iddo the chief at the place Casiphia, and I told them what they should say unto Iddo, and to his brethren the Nethinims, at the place Casiphia, that they should bring unto us ministers for the house of our God.

17 y los envié a Iddo, jefe en el lugar llamado Casifia, y puse en boca de ellos las palabras que habían de hablar a Iddo y a sus hermanos los sirvientes del templo en el lugar llamado Casifia, para que nos trajesen sirvientes para la casa de nuestro Dios.

18 And by the good hand of our God upon us they brought us a man of understanding, of the sons of Mahli, the son of Levi, the son of Israel; and Sherebiah, with his sons and his brethren, eighteen;

18 Y nos trajeron, según la buena mano de nuestro Dios sobre nosotros, a un hombre entendido de los hijos de Mahli hijo de Leví, hijo de Israel; y a Serebías con sus hijos y sus hermanos, dieciocho;

19 And Hashabiah, and with him Jeshaiah of the sons of Merari, his brethren and their sons, twenty;

19 y a Hasabías, y con él a Jesaías de los hijos de Merari, a sus hermanos y a sus hijos, veinte;

20 Also of the Nethinims, whom David and the princes had appointed for the service of the Levites, two hundred and twenty Nethinims: all of them were expressed by name.

20 y de los sirvientes del templo, a quienes David y los príncipes habían puesto para el servicio de los levitas, doscientos veinte sirvientes del templo, todos los cuales fueron designados por sus nombres.

21 Then I proclaimed a fast there, at the river of Ahava, that we might afflict ourselves before our God, to seek of him a right way for us, and for our little ones, and for all our substance.

21 Y proclamé ayuno allí junto al río Ahava para humillarnos delante de nuestro Dios, para solicitar de él camino recto para nosotros, y para nuestros niños y para todos nuestros bienes.

22 For I was ashamed to require of the king a band of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy in the way: because we had spoken unto the king, saying, The hand of our God is upon all them for good that seek him; but his power and his wrath is against all them that forsake him.

22 Porque tuve vergüenza de pedir al rey tropa y gente de a caballo que nos defendiesen del enemigo en el camino, ya que le habíamos dicho al rey: La mano de nuestro Dios está, para bien, sobre todos los que le buscan, pero su poder y su ira están contra todos los que le abandonan.

23 So we fasted and besought our God for this: and he was entreated of us.

23 Ayunamos, pues, y pedimos a nuestro Dios sobre esto, y él nos fue propicio.

24 Then I separated twelve of the chief of the priests, Sherebiah, Hashabiah, and ten of their brethren with them,

24 Entonces aparté a doce de los principales de los sacerdotes, a Serebías y a Hasabías, y con ellos diez de sus hermanos;

25 And weighed unto them the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, even the offering of the house of our God, which the king, and his counsellors, and his lords, and all Israel there present, had offered:

25 y les pesé la plata, y el oro y los utensilios, la ofrenda que para la casa de nuestro Dios habían ofrecido el rey, y sus consejeros, y sus oficiales y todo Israel allí presente.

26 I even weighed unto their hand six hundred and fifty talents of silver, and silver vessels an hundred talents, and of gold an hundred talents;

26 Pesé, pues, en manos de ellos seiscientos cincuenta talentos de plata, y utensilios de plata por cien talentos y cien talentos de oro;

27 Also twenty basins of gold, of a thousand drams; and two vessels of fine copper, precious as gold.

27 además, veinte tazones de oro de mil dracmas y dos utensilios de bronce reluciente, tan preciosos como el oro.

28 And I said unto them, Ye are holy unto the LORD; the vessels are holy also; and the silver and the gold are a freewill offering unto the LORD God of your fathers.

28 Y les dije: Vosotros estáis consagrados a Jehová, y son sagrados los utensilios; y la plata y el oro son ofrenda voluntaria a Jehová, Dios de nuestros padres.

29 Watch ye, and keep them, until ye weigh them before the chief of the priests and the Levites, and chief of the fathers of Israel, at Jerusalem, in the chambers of the house of the LORD.

29 Velad y guardadlos hasta que los peséis delante de los principales de los sacerdotes, y de los levitas y de los jefes de las casas paternas de Israel en Jerusalén, en las habitaciones de la casa de Jehová.

30 So took the priests and the Levites the weight of the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, to bring them to Jerusalem unto the house of our God.

30 Y los sacerdotes y los levitas recibieron la plata, y el oro y los utensilios que fueron pesados, para llevarlos a Jerusalén a la casa de nuestro Dios.

31 Then we departed from the river of Ahava on the twelfth day of the first month, to go unto Jerusalem: and the hand of our God was upon us, and he delivered us from the hand of the enemy, and of such as lay in wait by the way.

31 Y partimos del río Ahava el doce del primer mes para ir a Jerusalén; y la mano de nuestro Dios estaba sobre nosotros y él nos libró de manos del enemigo y de las emboscadas en el camino.

32 And we came to Jerusalem, and abode there three days.

32 Y llegamos a Jerusalén y reposamos allí tres días.

33 Now on the fourth day was the silver and the gold and the vessels weighed in the house of our God by the hand of Meremoth the son of Uriah the priest; and with him was Eleazar the son of Phinehas; and with them was Jozabad the son of Jeshua, and Noadiah the son of Binnui, Levites;

33 Y al cuarto día fue pesada la plata, y el oro y los utensilios, en la casa de nuestro Dios, por mano de Meremot hijo de Urías, el sacerdote, y con él Eleazar hijo de Finees; y con ellos estaban los levitas Jozabad hijo de Jesúa y Noadías hijo de Binúi.

34 By number and by weight of every one: and all the weight was written at that time.

34 Todo fue contado y pesado, y el peso total fue anotado en aquel tiempo.

35 Also the children of those that had been carried away, which were come out of the captivity, offered burnt offerings unto the God of Israel, twelve bullocks for all Israel, ninety and six rams, seventy and seven lambs, twelve he goats for a sin offering: all this was a burnt offering unto the LORD.

35 Los hijos de los que habían sido llevados cautivos y que habían regresado de la cautividad ofrecieron holocaustos al Dios de Israel: doce novillos por todo Israel, noventa y seis carneros, setenta y siete corderos, doce machos cabríos como ofrenda por el pecado, todo en holocausto a Jehová.

36 And they delivered the king's commissions unto the king's lieutenants, and to the governors on this side the river: and they furthered the people, and the house of God.

36 Y se entregaron los decretos del rey a los sátrapas del rey y a los gobernadores del otro lado del río, los cuales ayudaron al pueblo y a la casa de Dios.
