1 Then Darius the king made a decree, and search was made in the house of the rolls, where the treasures were laid up in Babylon.

1 Entonces el rey Darío dio la orden de buscar en la casa de los libros donde guardaban los tesoros allí en Babilonia.

2 And there was found at Achmetha, in the palace that is in the province of the Medes, a roll, and therein was a record thus written:

2 Y fue hallado en Acmeta, en el palacio que está en la provincia de Media, un rollo en el cual estaba escrito así: Memoria:

3 In the first year of Cyrus the king the same Cyrus the king made a decree concerning the house of God at Jerusalem, Let the house be builded, the place where they offered sacrifices, and let the foundations thereof be strongly laid; the height thereof threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof threescore cubits;

3 En el año primero del rey Ciro, el mismo rey Ciro dio orden acerca de la casa de Dios que estaba en Jerusalén: Que se reedifique la casa como lugar para ofrecer sacrificios, y que se coloquen firmemente sus cimientos; con su altura de sesenta codos y su anchura de sesenta codos;

4 With three rows of great stones, and a row of new timber: and let the expenses be given out of the king's house:

4 con tres hileras de piedras grandes y una hilera de vigas de madera nueva; y que el gasto sea pagado por la casa del rey.

5 And also let the golden and silver vessels of the house of God, which Nebuchadnezzar took forth out of the temple which is at Jerusalem, and brought unto Babylon, be restored, and brought again unto the temple which is at Jerusalem, every one to his place, and place them in the house of God.

5 Y que también los utensilios de oro y de plata de la casa de Dios, que Nabucodonosor sacó del templo que estaba en Jerusalén y los llevó a Babilonia, sean devueltos y se lleven al templo que está en Jerusalén, a su lugar, y sean puestos en la casa de Dios.

6 Now therefore, Tatnai, governor beyond the river, Shethar-boznai, and your companions the Apharsachites, which are beyond the river, be ye far from thence:

6 Ahora pues, Tatnai, gobernador del otro lado del río, Setar-boznai y vuestros compañeros los oficiales que estáis al otro lado del río, apartaos de allí.

7 Let the work of this house of God alone; let the governor of the Jews and the elders of the Jews build this house of God in his place.

7 No estorbéis la obra de esa casa de Dios; que el gobernador de los judíos y sus ancianos reedifiquen esa casa de Dios en su lugar.

8 Moreover I make a decree what ye shall do to the elders of these Jews for the building of this house of God: that of the king's goods, even of the tribute beyond the river, forthwith expenses be given unto these men, that they be not hindered.

8 Y esta es mi orden en cuanto a lo que habéis de hacer con esos ancianos de los judíos, para reedificar la casa de Dios: que de los bienes del rey que vienen del tributo del otro lado del río, sean pagados puntualmente los gastos a aquellos hombres, para que no cese la obra.

9 And that which they have need of, both young bullocks, and rams, and lambs, for the burnt offerings of the God of heaven, wheat, salt, wine, and oil, according to the appointment of the priests which are at Jerusalem, let it be given them day by day without fail:

9 Y lo que sea necesario, becerros y carneros y corderos, para los holocaustos al Dios del cielo, trigo, sal, vino y aceite, conforme a lo que digan los sacerdotes que están en Jerusalén, se les dé cada día sin falta,

10 That they may offer sacrifices of sweet savours unto the God of heaven, and pray for the life of the king, and of his sons.

10 para que ofrezcan sacrificios agradables al Dios de los cielos y oren por la vida del rey y por la de sus hijos.

11 Also I have made a decree, that whosoever shall alter this word, let timber be pulled down from his house, and being set up, let him be hanged thereon; and let his house be made a dunghill for this.

11 También he dado orden de que a cualquiera que altere este decreto le sea arrancada una viga de su casa, y levantándola, sea colgado en ella; y su casa sea hecha muladar por esto.

12 And the God that hath caused his name to dwell there destroy all kings and people, that shall put to their hand to alter and to destroy this house of God which is at Jerusalem. I Darius have made a decree; let it be done with speed.

12 Y el Dios que ha hecho habitar allí su nombre destruya a todo rey y pueblo que ponga su mano para cambiar o destruir esa casa de Dios que está en Jerusalén. Yo, Darío, he dado este decreto; sea cumplido con exactitud.

13 Then Tatnai, governor on this side the river, Shethar-boznai, and their companions, according to that which Darius the king had sent, so they did speedily.

13 Entonces Tatnai, gobernador del otro lado del río, y Setar-boznai y sus compañeros hicieron con toda exactitud según el rey Darío había mandado.

14 And the elders of the Jews builded, and they prospered through the prophesying of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the son of Iddo. And they builded, and finished it, according to the commandment of the God of Israel, and according to the commandment of Cyrus, and Darius, and Artaxerxes king of Persia.

14 Y los ancianos de los judíos edificaban y prosperaban, conforme a la profecía del profeta Hageo y de Zacarías hijo de Iddo. Edificaron, pues, y terminaron la obra, por el mandamiento del Dios de Israel, y por el mandato de Ciro, y de Darío y de Artajerjes, rey de Persia.

15 And this house was finished on the third day of the month Adar, which was in the sixth year of the reign of Darius the king.

15 Y esta casa fue terminada el tercer día del mes de Adar, que era el sexto año del reinado del rey Darío.

16 And the children of Israel, the priests, and the Levites, and the rest of the children of the captivity, kept the dedication of this house of God with joy,

16 Y los hijos de Israel, los sacerdotes, y los levitas y los demás que habían regresado de la cautividad celebraron con gozo la dedicación de esta casa de Dios.

17 And offered at the dedication of this house of God an hundred bullocks, two hundred rams, four hundred lambs; and for a sin offering for all Israel, twelve he goats, according to the number of the tribes of Israel.

17 Y ofrecieron en la dedicación de esta casa de Dios cien becerros, doscientos carneros, cuatrocientos corderos, y doce machos cabríos como ofrenda por el pecado por todo Israel, conforme al número de las tribus de Israel.

18 And they set the priests in their divisions, and the Levites in their courses, for the service of God, which is at Jerusalem; as it is written in the book of Moses.

18 Y pusieron a los sacerdotes en sus turnos y a los levitas en sus grupos, para el servicio de Dios que está en Jerusalén, conforme a lo escrito en el libro de Moisés.

19 And the children of the captivity kept the passover upon the fourteenth day of the first month.

19 Y los hijos de la cautividad celebraron la Pascua a los catorce días del mes primero.

20 For the priests and the Levites were purified together, all of them were pure, and killed the passover for all the children of the captivity, and for their brethren the priests, and for themselves.

20 Porque los sacerdotes y los levitas se habían purificado juntamente, todos estaban limpios; y sacrificaron la Pascua por todos los hijos de la cautividad, y por sus hermanos los sacerdotes y por sí mismos.

21 And the children of Israel, which were come again out of captivity, and all such as had separated themselves unto them from the filthiness of the heathen of the land, to seek the LORD God of Israel, did eat,

21 Y comieron los hijos de Israel que habían regresado de la cautividad, y todos los que se habían apartado de la impureza de las naciones de la tierra, para buscar a Jehová Dios de Israel.

22 And kept the feast of unleavened bread seven days with joy: for the LORD had made them joyful, and turned the heart of the king of Assyria unto them, to strengthen their hands in the work of the house of God, the God of Israel.

22 Y celebraron con regocijo la fiesta de los panes sin levadura durante siete días, por cuanto Jehová los había alegrado y había vuelto el corazón del rey de Asiria hacia ellos, para fortalecer sus manos en la obra de la casa de Dios, el Dios de Israel.
