1 And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the third month, in the first day of the month, that the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

1 Y aconteció en el año undécimo, en el mes tercero, el día primero del mes, que vino a mí la palabra de Jehová, diciendo:

2 Son of man, speak unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, and to his multitude; Whom art thou like in thy greatness?

2 Hijo de hombre, di a Faraón, rey de Egipto, y a su pueblo: ¿A quién te pareces en tu grandeza?

3 Behold, the Assyrian was a cedar in Lebanon with fair branches, and with a shadowing shroud, and of an high stature; and his top was among the thick boughs.

3 He aquí, el asirio era cedro en el Líbano, de hermosas ramas, y frondoso, de amplia sombra y de gran altura; y su copa estaba entre densas ramas.

4 The waters made him great, the deep set him up on high with her rivers running round about his plants, and sent out her little rivers unto all the trees of the field.

4 Las aguas lo hicieron crecer, lo encumbró el abismo; sus ríos corrían alrededor de su pie, y a todos los árboles del campo enviaba sus corrientes.

5 Therefore his height was exalted above all the trees of the field, and his boughs were multiplied, and his branches became long because of the multitude of waters, when he shot forth.

5 Por tanto, se encumbró su altura sobre todos los árboles del campo, y se multiplicaron sus ramas; y a causa de las muchas aguas, se extendieron sus ramas que había echado.

6 All the fowls of heaven made their nests in his boughs, and under his branches did all the beasts of the field bring forth their young, and under his shadow dwelt all great nations.

6 En sus ramas hacían nido todas las aves del cielo, y debajo de su ramaje parían todas las bestias del campo, y a su sombra habitaban muchas naciones.

7 Thus was he fair in his greatness, in the length of his branches: for his root was by great waters.

7 Se hizo, pues, hermoso en su grandeza con la extensión de sus ramas, porque su raíz estaba junto a muchas aguas.

8 The cedars in the garden of God could not hide him: the fir trees were not like his boughs, and the chestnut trees were not like his branches; nor any tree in the garden of God was like unto him in his beauty.

8 Los cedros en el huerto de Dios no lo superaron; los cipreses no se podían comparar con su ramaje, ni los castaños con sus ramas; ningún árbol en el huerto de Dios era semejante a él en hermosura.

9 I have made him fair by the multitude of his branches: so that all the trees of Eden, that were in the garden of God, envied him.

9 Lo hice hermoso con la multitud de sus ramas; y todos los árboles del Edén, que estaban en el huerto de Dios, tuvieron de él envidia.

10 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast lifted up thyself in height, and he hath shot up his top among the thick boughs, and his heart is lifted up in his height;

10 Por tanto, así dice Jehová el Señor: Por haberse elevado en altura, y por haber puesto su copa entre densas ramas y por haber elevado su corazón con su altura,

11 I have therefore delivered him into the hand of the mighty one of the heathen; he shall surely deal with him: I have driven him out for his wickedness.

11 yo lo entregaré en manos del poderoso de las naciones, que de cierto lo tratará según su maldad; yo lo he desechado.

12 And strangers, the terrible of the nations, have cut him off, and have left him: upon the mountains and in all the valleys his branches are fallen, and his boughs are broken by all the rivers of the land; and all the people of the earth are gone down from his shadow, and have left him.

12 Y los extranjeros, los más crueles de las naciones, lo talarán y lo abandonarán; sus ramas caerán sobre los montes y por todos los valles, y por todos los arroyos de la tierra serán quebradas sus ramas; y se han ido de su sombra todos los pueblos de la tierra y lo han abandonado.

13 Upon his ruin shall all the fowls of the heaven remain, and all the beasts of the field shall be upon his branches:

13 Sobre su ruina habitarán todas las aves del cielo, y sobre sus ramas estarán todas las bestias del campo,

14 To the end that none of all the trees by the waters exalt themselves for their height, neither shoot up their top among the thick boughs, neither their trees stand up in their height, all that drink water: for they are all delivered unto death, to the nether parts of the earth, in the midst of the children of men, with them that go down to the pit.

14 para que no se exalte en su altura ninguno de los árboles junto a las aguas, ni levante su copa entre las densas ramas, ni las ramas de ninguno de los árboles que beben agua se eleven en su altura; porque todos serán entregados a la muerte, a lo más bajo de la tierra, en medio de los hijos de los hombres, con los que descienden a la fosa.

15 Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the day when he went down to the grave I caused a mourning: I covered the deep for him, and I restrained the floods thereof, and the great waters were stayed: and I caused Lebanon to mourn for him, and all the trees of the field fainted for him.

15 Así ha dicho Jehová el Señor: El día en que descendió al Seol, hice lamentar, hice cubrir por él el abismo y detuve sus ríos; y las muchas aguas fueron detenidas; y al Líbano cubrí de tinieblas por él, y todos los árboles del campo por él se desmayaron.

16 I made the nations to shake at the sound of his fall, when I cast him down to hell with them that descend into the pit: and all the trees of Eden, the choice and best of Lebanon, all that drink water, shall be comforted in the nether parts of the earth.

16 Con el estruendo de su caída hice temblar a las naciones, cuando las hice descender al Seol con los que descienden a la fosa, y fueron consolados en lo más bajo de la tierra todos los árboles del Edén, los escogidos y los mejores del Líbano, todos los que beben agua.

17 They also went down into hell with him unto them that be slain with the sword; and they that were his arm, that dwelt under his shadow in the midst of the heathen.

17 También ellos descendieron con él al Seol, a los muertos a espada, los que fueron su brazo, los que estuvieron a su sombra en medio de las naciones.

18 To whom art thou thus like in glory and in greatness among the trees of Eden? yet shalt thou be brought down with the trees of Eden unto the nether parts of the earth: thou shalt lie in the midst of the uncircumcised with them that be slain by the sword. This is Pharaoh and all his multitude, saith the Lord GOD.

18 ¿A quién te has comparado así en gloria y en grandeza entre los árboles del Edén? Pues derribado serás con los árboles del Edén en lo más bajo de la tierra; entre los incircuncisos yacerás, con los muertos a espada. Este es Faraón y toda su multitud, dice Jehová el Señor.
