1 Again in the ninth year, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

1 Y vino a mí la palabra de Jehová en el año noveno, en el mes décimo, a los diez días del mes, diciendo:

2 Son of man, write thee the name of the day, even of this same day: the king of Babylon set himself against Jerusalem this same day.

2 Hijo de hombre, escribe para ti el nombre de este día, del día de hoy; el rey de Babilonia se ha lanzado contra Jerusalén este mismo día.

3 And utter a parable unto the rebellious house, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Set on a pot, set it on, and also pour water into it:

3 Y habla por parábola a la casa rebelde, y diles: Así ha dicho Jehová el Señor: Pon una olla; ponla y echa también agua en ella;

4 Gather the pieces thereof into it, even every good piece, the thigh, and the shoulder; fill it with the choice bones.

4 junta sus trozos de carne en ella, todos buenos trozos, pierna y espalda; llénala de huesos escogidos.

5 Take the choice of the flock, and burn also the bones under it, and make it boil well, and let them seethe the bones of it therein.

5 Toma una oveja escogida, y también enciende los huesos debajo de ella; haz que hierva bien; cuece también sus huesos dentro de ella.

6 Wherefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe to the bloody city, to the pot whose scum is therein, and whose scum is not gone out of it! bring it out piece by piece; let no lot fall upon it.

6 Pues así ha dicho Jehová el Señor: ¡Ay de la ciudad sanguinaria, de la olla herrumbrosa cuya herrumbre no ha sido quitada! Sácala trozo por trozo, sin echar suertes sobre ella.

7 For her blood is in the midst of her; she set it upon the top of a rock; she poured it not upon the ground, to cover it with dust;

7 Porque su sangre está en medio de ella; sobre una piedra lisa la puso; no la derramó sobre la tierra para que no fuese cubierta por el polvo.

8 That it might cause fury to come up to take vengeance; I have set her blood upon the top of a rock, that it should not be covered.

8 Para hacer subir la ira, a fin de tomar venganza, yo he puesto su sangre sobre la piedra lisa, para que no sea cubierta.

9 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe to the bloody city! I will even make the pile for fire great.

9 Por tanto, así ha dicho Jehová el Señor: ¡Ay de la ciudad sanguinaria! Pues también yo haré una gran hoguera;

10 Heap on wood, kindle the fire, consume the flesh, and spice it well, and let the bones be burned.

10 aumenta la leña, enciende el fuego, termina de cocer la carne y mézclale las especias, y que se quemen los huesos.

11 Then set it empty upon the coals thereof, that the brass of it may be hot, and may burn, and that the filthiness of it may be molten in it, that the scum of it may be consumed.

11 Pon después la olla vacía sobre las brasas, para que se caldee, y se caliente su bronce, y se funda en ella su suciedad y se consuma su herrumbre.

12 She hath wearied herself with lies, and her great scum went not forth out of her: her scum shall be in the fire.

12 Se ha cansado con los esfuerzos, pero no salió de ella su mucha herrumbre. Con fuego será su herrumbre consumida.

13 In thy filthiness is lewdness: because I have purged thee, and thou wast not purged, thou shalt not be purged from thy filthiness any more, till I have caused my fury to rest upon thee.

13 En tu inmundicia hay perversidad, porque quise limpiarte, pero tú no te limpiaste de tu impureza; nunca más te limpiarás, hasta que yo haga reposar mi ira sobre ti.

14 I the LORD have spoken it: it shall come to pass, and I will do it; I will not go back, neither will I spare, neither will I repent; according to thy ways, and according to thy doings, shall they judge thee, saith the Lord GOD.

14 Yo, Jehová, he hablado; sucederá, y lo haré. No me volveré atrás, ni tendré misericordia ni perdonaré; según tus caminos y tus obras te juzgarán, dice Jehová el Señor.

15 Also the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

15 Y vino a mí la palabra de Jehová, diciendo:

16 Son of man, behold, I take away from thee the desire of thine eyes with a stroke: yet neither shalt thou mourn nor weep, neither shall thy tears run down.

16 Hijo de hombre, he aquí que yo te quito de golpe el deleite de tus ojos; no gimas, ni llores ni corran tus lágrimas.

17 Forbear to cry, make no mourning for the dead, bind the tire of thine head upon thee, and put on thy shoes upon thy feet, and cover not thy lips, and eat not the bread of men.

17 Gime en silencio; no hagas duelo por los muertos; ata tu turbante sobre ti y pon tu calzado en tus pies y no te cubras el bigote ni comas pan de hombres.

18 So I spake unto the people in the morning: and at even my wife died; and I did in the morning as I was commanded.

18 Y hablé al pueblo por la mañana, y al atardecer murió mi esposa; y a la mañana siguiente hice como me fue mandado.

19 And the people said unto me, Wilt thou not tell us what these things are to us, that thou doest so?

19 Y me dijo el pueblo: ¿No nos dirás qué significan para nosotros estas cosas que tú haces?

20 Then I answered them, The word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

20 Y yo les dije: La palabra de Jehová vino a mí, diciendo:

21 Speak unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will profane my sanctuary, the excellency of your strength, the desire of your eyes, and that which your soul pitieth; and your sons and your daughters whom ye have left shall fall by the sword.

21 Di a la casa de Israel: Así ha dicho Jehová el Señor: He aquí, yo profano mi santuario, la gloria de vuestro poderío, el deleite de vuestros ojos y el objeto de compasión de vuestra alma; y vuestros hijos y vuestras hijas que dejasteis caerán a espada.

22 And ye shall do as I have done: ye shall not cover your lips, nor eat the bread of men.

22 Y haréis de la manera que yo hice: no os cubriréis el bigote ni comeréis pan de hombres;

23 And your tires shall be upon your heads, and your shoes upon your feet: ye shall not mourn nor weep; but ye shall pine away for your iniquities, and mourn one toward another.

23 y vuestros turbantes estarán sobre vuestras cabezas, y vuestro calzado en vuestros pies; no os lamentaréis ni lloraréis, sino que os consumiréis a causa de vuestras iniquidades y gemiréis unos con otros.

24 Thus Ezekiel is unto you a sign: according to all that he hath done shall ye do: and when this cometh, ye shall know that I am the Lord GOD.

24 Ezequiel, pues, os servirá de señal; según todas las cosas que él ha hecho, haréis vosotros; cuando esto ocurra, entonces sabréis que yo soy Jehová el Señor.

25 Also, thou son of man, shall it not be in the day when I take from them their strength, the joy of their glory, the desire of their eyes, and that whereupon they set their minds, their sons and their daughters,

25 Y tú, hijo de hombre, ¿no será que el día en que yo les quite su fortaleza, el gozo de su gloria, el deleite de sus ojos y el anhelo de su alma, sus hijos y sus hijas,

26 That he that escapeth in that day shall come unto thee, to cause thee to hear it with thine ears?

26 ese día vendrá a ti uno que haya escapado para traer las nuevas?

27 In that day shall thy mouth be opened to him which is escaped, and thou shalt speak, and be no more dumb: and thou shalt be a sign unto them; and they shall know that I am the LORD.

27 En aquel día se abrirá tu boca para hablar con el que haya escapado, y hablarás y no estarás más mudo; y les servirás de señal, y sabrán que yo soy Jehová.
