1 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

1 Y vino a mí la palabra de Jehová, diciendo:

2 Son of man, set thy face toward Jerusalem, and drop thy word toward the holy places, and prophesy against the land of Israel,

2 Hijo de hombre, pon tu rostro hacia Jerusalén, y derrama palabras contra los santuarios y profetiza contra la tierra de Israel;

3 And say to the land of Israel, Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I am against thee, and will draw forth my sword out of his sheath, and will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked.

3 y dirás a la tierra de Israel: Así ha dicho Jehová: He aquí que yo estoy contra ti, y sacaré mi espada de su vaina y talaré de ti al justo y al malvado.

4 Seeing then that I will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked, therefore shall my sword go forth out of his sheath against all flesh from the south to the north:

4 Y por cuanto he de talar de ti al justo y al malvado, por tanto, mi espada saldrá de su vaina contra toda carne, desde el sur hasta el norte;

5 That all flesh may know that I the LORD have drawn forth my sword out of his sheath: it shall not return any more.

5 y sabrá toda carne que yo, Jehová, saqué mi espada de su vaina; no la envainaré más.

6 Sigh therefore, thou son of man, with the breaking of thy loins; and with bitterness sigh before their eyes.

6 Y tú, hijo de hombre, gime con quebranto de lomos y con amargura; gime delante de los ojos de ellos.

7 And it shall be, when they say unto thee, Wherefore sighest thou? that thou shalt answer, For the tidings; because it cometh: and every heart shall melt, and all hands shall be feeble, and every spirit shall faint, and all knees shall be weak as water: behold, it cometh, and shall be brought to pass, saith the Lord GOD.

7 Y sucederá que cuando te digan: ¿Por qué gimes tú? Dirás: Por la noticia que viene; y todo corazón desfallecerá, y todas las manos se debilitarán, y se angustiará todo espíritu, y todas las rodillas se volverán como agua; he aquí que viene, y se hará, dice Jehová el Señor.

8 Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

8 Y vino a mí la palabra de Jehová, diciendo:

9 Son of man, prophesy, and say, Thus saith the LORD; Say, A sword, a sword is sharpened, and also furbished:

9 Hijo de hombre, profetiza y di: Así ha dicho Jehová: Di: ¡La espada, la espada está afilada y también pulida!

10 It is sharpened to make a sore slaughter; it is furbished that it may glitter: should we then make mirth? it contemneth the rod of my son, as every tree.

10 Para la matanza está afilada; pulida está para que relumbre. ¿Hemos de alegrarnos, cuando ha despreciado el cetro de mi hijo como a un palo cualquiera?

11 And he hath given it to be furbished, that it may be handled: this sword is sharpened, and it is furbished, to give it into the hand of the slayer.

11 Y la dio a pulir para tenerla a mano; la espada está afilada, y pulida está ella para entregarla en manos del verdugo.

12 Cry and howl, son of man: for it shall be upon my people, it shall be upon all the princes of Israel: terrors by reason of the sword shall be upon my people: smite therefore upon thy thigh.

12 Clama y gime, oh hijo de hombre, porque esta estará contra mi pueblo; estará contra todos los príncipes de Israel. Serán arrojados a la espada junto con mi pueblo; por tanto, golpéate el muslo,

13 Because it is a trial, and what if the sword contemn even the rod? it shall be no more, saith the Lord GOD.

13 porque es el tiempo de las pruebas. ¿Y qué, si la espada desprecia aun el cetro? Él no será más, dice Jehová el Señor.

14 Thou therefore, son of man, prophesy, and smite thine hands together, and let the sword be doubled the third time, the sword of the slain: it is the sword of the great men that are slain, which entereth into their privy chambers.

14 Tú, pues, hijo de hombre, profetiza y bate una mano contra otra, y dóblese la espada la tercera vez, la espada de la matanza; esta es la espada de la gran matanza que los tiene rodeados,

15 I have set the point of the sword against all their gates, that their heart may faint, and their ruins be multiplied: ah! it is made bright, it is wrapped up for the slaughter.

15 para que el corazón desmaye y las piedras de tropiezo se multipliquen; en todas las puertas de ellos he puesto matanza de espada. ¡Ah!, está hecha para centellear, y preparada para la matanza.

16 Go thee one way or other, either on the right hand, or on the left, whithersoever thy face is set.

16 Ve a un lado o al otro, a la derecha o a la izquierda, hacia donde tu rostro determine.

17 I will also smite mine hands together, and I will cause my fury to rest: I the LORD have said it.

17 Y yo también batiré mano contra mano y haré reposar mi ira. Yo, Jehová, he hablado.

18 The word of the LORD came unto me again, saying,

18 Y vino a mí la palabra de Jehová, diciendo:

19 Also, thou son of man, appoint thee two ways, that the sword of the king of Babylon may come: both twain shall come forth out of one land: and choose thou a place, choose it at the head of the way to the city.

19 Y tú, hijo de hombre, trázate dos caminos por donde venga la espada del rey de Babilonia; de una misma tierra salgan ambos; haz una señal; hazla al principio del camino a la ciudad.

20 Appoint a way, that the sword may come to Rabbath of the Ammonites, and to Judah in Jerusalem the defenced.

20 El camino trazarás por donde venga la espada a Rabá de los hijos de Amón, y a Judá que está en la fortificada Jerusalén.

21 For the king of Babylon stood at the parting of the way, at the head of the two ways, to use divination: he made his arrows bright, he consulted with images, he looked in the liver.

21 Porque el rey de Babilonia se ha detenido en una encrucijada, al principio de los dos caminos, para usar de adivinación; ha sacudido las saetas, consultó a los ídolos, miró el hígado.

22 At his right hand was the divination for Jerusalem, to appoint captains, to open the mouth in the slaughter, to lift up the voice with shouting, to appoint battering rams against the gates, to cast a mount, and to build a fort.

22 La adivinación para Jerusalén salió en su mano derecha, para poner arietes, para abrir la boca a la matanza, para levantar la voz en grito de guerra, para poner arietes contra las puertas, para levantar terraplén y edificar muros de asedio.

23 And it shall be unto them as a false divination in their sight, to them that have sworn oaths: but he will call to remembrance the iniquity, that they may be taken.

23 Y les será como adivinación mentirosa ante sus ojos, por estar juramentados con juramento a ellos; pero él traerá a la memoria la iniquidad, para apresarlos.

24 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye have made your iniquity to be remembered, in that your transgressions are discovered, so that in all your doings your sins do appear; because, I say, that ye are come to remembrance, ye shall be taken with the hand.

24 Por tanto, así ha dicho Jehová el Señor: Por cuanto habéis hecho traer a la memoria vuestra iniquidad, manifestando vuestras transgresiones, descubriendo vuestros pecados en todas vuestras obras; por cuanto habéis sido recordados, seréis capturados por su mano.

25 And thou, profane wicked prince of Israel, whose day is come, when iniquity shall have an end,

25 Y tú, profano y malvado príncipe de Israel, cuyo día ha llegado en el tiempo de la consumación de la iniquidad,

26 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Remove the diadem, and take off the crown: this shall not be the same: exalt him that is low, and abase him that is high.

26 así ha dicho Jehová el Señor: Depón la tiara y quita la corona; esto no será más así; lo bajo será exaltado, y lo alto será abatido.

27 I will overturn, overturn, overturn, it: and it shall be no more, until he come whose right it is; and I will give it him.

27 A ruina, a ruina, a ruina la reduciré; y esta no será más hasta que venga aquel de quien es el derecho, y se la entregaré.

28 And thou, son of man, prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD concerning the Ammonites, and concerning their reproach; even say thou, The sword, the sword is drawn: for the slaughter it is furbished, to consume because of the glittering:

28 Y tú, hijo de hombre, profetiza, y di: Así ha dicho Jehová el Señor acerca de los hijos de Amón y de su oprobio. Dirás, pues: La espada, la espada está desenvainada para la matanza; para consumir está pulida con resplandor.

29 Whiles they see vanity unto thee, whiles they divine a lie unto thee, to bring thee upon the necks of them that are slain, of the wicked, whose day is come, when their iniquity shall have an end.

29 Mientras ellos ven para ti visiones falsas, mientras adivinan mentira para ti, para ponerte sobre los cuellos de los muertos, de los malos, cuyo día ha llegado en el tiempo de la consumación de la iniquidad.

30 Shall I cause it to return into his sheath? I will judge thee in the place where thou wast created, in the land of thy nativity.

30 ¿La volveré a envainar? En el lugar donde fuiste creada, en la tierra de tu origen, te juzgaré.

31 And I will pour out mine indignation upon thee, I will blow against thee in the fire of my wrath, and deliver thee into the hand of brutish men, and skilful to destroy.

31 Y derramaré sobre ti mi indignación, con el fuego de mi enojo soplaré sobre ti y te entregaré en manos de hombres brutales, artífices de destrucción.

32 Thou shalt be for fuel to the fire; thy blood shall be in the midst of the land; thou shalt be no more remembered: for I the LORD have spoken it.

32 Serás pasto del fuego; tu sangre quedará en medio de la tierra; no habrá más memoria de ti, porque yo, Jehová, he hablado.
