1 Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD your God commanded to teach you, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go to possess it:

1 Estos, pues, son los mandamientos, estatutos y decretos que Jehová vuestro Dios mandó que os enseñase, para que los pongáis por obra en la tierra a la cual vais a entrar para poseerla;

2 That thou mightest fear the LORD thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son's son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged.

2 para que temas a Jehová tu Dios, guardando todos sus estatutos y sus mandamientos que yo te mando, tú, y tu hijo y el hijo de tu hijo, todos los días de tu vida, para que tus días sean prolongados.

3 Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase mightily, as the LORD God of thy fathers hath promised thee, in the land that floweth with milk and honey.

3 Escucha, pues, oh Israel, y cuida de ponerlos por obra, para que te vaya bien en la tierra que fluye leche y miel, y seáis multiplicados, como te ha dicho Jehová, el Dios de tus padres.

4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:

4 Escucha, oh Israel: Jehová nuestro Dios, Jehová uno es.

5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

5 Y amarás a Jehová tu Dios con todo tu corazón, y con toda tu alma y con todas tus fuerzas.

6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:

6 Y estas palabras que yo te mando hoy estarán sobre tu corazón;

7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

7 y se las repetirás a tus hijos y les hablarás de ellas estando en tu casa, y andando por el camino, y cuando te acuestes y cuando te levantes.

8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.

8 Y las atarás como una señal en tu mano, y estarán como frontales entre tus ojos;

9 And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.

9 y las escribirás en los postes de tu casa y en tus puertas.

10 And it shall be, when the LORD thy God shall have brought thee into the land which he sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give thee great and goodly cities, which thou buildedst not,

10 Y acontecerá que, cuando Jehová tu Dios te haya hecho entrar en la tierra que juró a tus padres Abraham, Isaac y Jacob que te daría, en ciudades grandes y buenas que tú no edificaste,

11 And houses full of all good things, which thou filledst not, and wells digged, which thou diggedst not, vineyards and olive trees, which thou plantedst not; when thou shalt have eaten and be full;

11 y casas llenas de toda clase de bienes que tú no llenaste, y cisternas cavadas que tú no cavaste, viñas y olivares que no plantaste, y cuando hayas comido y te hayas saciado,

12 Then beware lest thou forget the LORD, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

12 cuídate de no olvidarte de Jehová que te sacó de la tierra de Egipto, de la casa de servidumbre.

13 Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name.

13 A Jehová tu Dios temerás, y a él servirás y por su nombre jurarás.

14 Ye shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the people which are round about you;

14 No andaréis en pos de dioses ajenos, de los dioses de los pueblos que están en vuestros contornos,

15 (For the LORD thy God is a jealous God among you) lest the anger of the LORD thy God be kindled against thee, and destroy thee from off the face of the earth.

15 porque Jehová tu Dios, que está en medio de ti, es un Dios celoso; no sea que se inflame el furor de Jehová tu Dios contra ti, y te destruya de sobre la faz de la tierra.

16 Ye shall not tempt the LORD your God, as ye tempted him in Massah.

16 No tentaréis a Jehová vuestro Dios como lo tentasteis en Masah.

17 Ye shall diligently keep the commandments of the LORD your God, and his testimonies, and his statutes, which he hath commanded thee.

17 Guardad diligentemente los mandamientos de Jehová vuestro Dios, y sus testimonios y sus estatutos que te ha mandado.

18 And thou shalt do that which is right and good in the sight of the LORD: that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest go in and possess the good land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers,

18 Y harás lo recto y bueno a los ojos de Jehová, para que te vaya bien y entres y poseas la buena tierra que Jehová juró a tus padres;

19 To cast out all thine enemies from before thee, as the LORD hath spoken.

19 para que él eche a todos tus enemigos de delante de ti, como Jehová ha dicho.

20 And when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What mean the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD our God hath commanded you?

20 Cuando mañana te pregunte tu hijo, diciendo: ¿Qué significan los testimonios, y estatutos y decretos que Jehová nuestro Dios os mandó?,

21 Then thou shalt say unto thy son, We were Pharaoh's bondmen in Egypt; and the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand:

21 entonces dirás a tu hijo: Nosotros éramos esclavos de Faraón en Egipto, y Jehová nos sacó de Egipto con mano poderosa.

22 And the LORD shewed signs and wonders, great and sore, upon Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his household, before our eyes:

22 E hizo Jehová señales y milagros grandes y terribles contra Egipto, contra Faraón y contra toda su casa, delante de nuestros ojos;

23 And he brought us out from thence, that he might bring us in, to give us the land which he sware unto our fathers.

23 y nos sacó de allá para traernos y darnos la tierra que juró a nuestros padres.

24 And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.

24 Y nos mandó Jehová cumplir con todos estos estatutos y temer a Jehová nuestro Dios, para que nos fuera bien todos los días y para que nos diera vida, como hasta hoy.

25 And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before the LORD our God, as he hath commanded us.

25 Y se nos contará en justicia si cuidamos de poner por obra todos estos mandamientos delante de Jehová nuestro Dios, como él nos ha mandado.
