1 When a man hath taken a wife, and married her, and it come to pass that she find no favour in his eyes, because he hath found some uncleanness in her: then let him write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house.

1 Si alguno toma una mujer y se casa con ella, si no le agrada por haber hallado en ella alguna cosa reprochable, le escribirá carta de divorcio, y se la entregará en la mano y la despedirá de su casa.

2 And when she is departed out of his house, she may go and be another man's wife.

2 Y una vez que haya salido de su casa, podrá ir y casarse con otro hombre.

3 And if the latter husband hate her, and write her a bill of divorcement, and giveth it in her hand, and sendeth her out of his house; or if the latter husband die, which took her to be his wife;

3 Y si este último la aborrece y le escribe carta de divorcio, y se la entrega en la mano y la despide de su casa, o si muere el último hombre que la tomó para sí por esposa,

4 Her former husband, which sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife, after that she is defiled; for that is abomination before the LORD: and thou shalt not cause the land to sin, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.

4 no podrá su primer marido, que la despidió, volverla a tomar para que sea su esposa, después que fue amancillada, porque es abominación delante de Jehová, y no has de pervertir la tierra que Jehová tu Dios te da como heredad.

5 When a man hath taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war, neither shall he be charged with any business: but he shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer up his wife which he hath taken.

5 Cuando alguno se haya casado recientemente, no saldrá a la guerra ni en ninguna cosa se le ocupará; libre estará en su casa durante un año para alegrar a la esposa que tomó.

6 No man shall take the nether or the upper millstone to pledge: for he taketh a man's life to pledge.

6 No tomarás en prenda la muela del molino, ni la de abajo ni la de arriba, porque sería tomar en prenda la vida del hombre.

7 If a man be found stealing any of his brethren of the children of Israel, and maketh merchandise of him, or selleth him; then that thief shall die; and thou shalt put evil away from among you.

7 Cuando sea hallada una persona que haya raptado a alguno de sus hermanos de entre los hijos de Israel, y le haya tratado como esclavo o le haya vendido, tal ladrón morirá, y así quitarás el mal de en medio de ti.

8 Take heed in the plague of leprosy, that thou observe diligently, and do according to all that the priests the Levites shall teach you: as I commanded them, so ye shall observe to do.

8 Guárdate de la plaga de la lepra, observando diligentemente y haciendo según todo lo que os enseñen los sacerdotes levitas; como les he mandado a ellos, así cuidaréis de hacer.

9 Remember what the LORD thy God did unto Miriam by the way, after that ye were come forth out of Egypt.

9 Acuérdate de lo que hizo Jehová tu Dios a María en el camino, después que salisteis de Egipto.

10 When thou dost lend thy brother any thing, thou shalt not go into his house to fetch his pledge.

10 Cuando des a tu prójimo alguna cosa prestada, no entrarás en su casa para tomarle prenda.

11 Thou shalt stand abroad, and the man to whom thou dost lend shall bring out the pledge abroad unto thee.

11 Te quedarás fuera, y el hombre a quien prestaste te sacará fuera la prenda.

12 And if the man be poor, thou shalt not sleep with his pledge:

12 Y si el hombre es pobre, no te acostarás reteniendo aún su prenda.

13 In any case thou shalt deliver him the pledge again when the sun goeth down, that he may sleep in his own raiment, and bless thee: and it shall be righteousness unto thee before the LORD thy God.

13 Sin falta le devolverás la prenda cuando el sol se ponga, para que duerma con su propia ropa y te bendiga; y te será contado por justicia delante de Jehová tu Dios.

14 Thou shalt not oppress an hired servant that is poor and needy, whether he be of thy brethren, or of thy strangers that are in thy land within thy gates:

14 No oprimirás al jornalero pobre y menesteroso, ya sea de tus hermanos o de los extranjeros que están en tu tierra, en tus ciudades.

15 At his day thou shalt give him his hire, neither shall the sun go down upon it; for he is poor, and setteth his heart upon it: lest he cry against thee unto the LORD, and it be sin unto thee.

15 En su día le darás su jornal, y no se pondrá el sol sin dárselo; pues es pobre, y con él sustenta su vida, para que no clame contra ti a Jehová, y sea en ti pecado.

16 The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin.

16 Los padres no morirán por los hijos, ni los hijos por los padres; cada uno morirá por su propio pecado.

17 Thou shalt not pervert the judgment of the stranger, nor of the fatherless; nor take a widow's raiment to pledge:

17 No torcerás el derecho del extranjero ni del huérfano, ni tomarás en prenda la ropa de la viuda,

18 But thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in Egypt, and the LORD thy God redeemed thee thence: therefore I command thee to do this thing.

18 sino acuérdate de que fuiste esclavo en Egipto y de que de allí te rescató Jehová tu Dios; por tanto, yo te mando que hagas esto.

19 When thou cuttest down thine harvest in thy field, and hast forgot a sheaf in the field, thou shalt not go again to fetch it: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow: that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hands.

19 Cuando siegues tu mies en tu campo y olvides alguna gavilla en el campo, no vuelvas para tomarla; será para el extranjero, para el huérfano y para la viuda, para que te bendiga Jehová tu Dios en toda la obra de tus manos.

20 When thou beatest thine olive tree, thou shalt not go over the boughs again: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow.

20 Cuando sacudas tus olivos, no recorrerás las ramas que hayas dejado detrás de ti; será para el extranjero, para el huérfano y para la viuda.

21 When thou gatherest the grapes of thy vineyard, thou shalt not glean it afterward: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow.

21 Cuando vendimies tu viña, no rebuscarás detrás de ti; será para el extranjero, para el huérfano y para la viuda.

22 And thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in the land of Egypt: therefore I command thee to do this thing.

22 Y recordarás que fuiste esclavo en la tierra de Egipto; por tanto, yo te mando que hagas esto.
