1 Then came all the tribes of Israel to David unto Hebron, and spake, saying, Behold, we are thy bone and thy flesh.

1 Y vinieron todas las tribus de Israel a David en Hebrón y hablaron, diciendo: He aquí, nosotros somos hueso tuyo y carne tuya.

2 Also in time past, when Saul was king over us, thou wast he that leddest out and broughtest in Israel: and the LORD said to thee, Thou shalt feed my people Israel, and thou shalt be a captain over Israel.

2 Hace ya tiempo, cuando Saúl reinaba sobre nosotros, tú eras el que sacabas a Israel y lo volvías a traer. Además, Jehová te ha dicho: Tú apacentarás a mi pueblo Israel, y tú serás príncipe sobre Israel.

3 So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron; and king David made a league with them in Hebron before the LORD: and they anointed David king over Israel.

3 Vinieron, pues, todos los ancianos de Israel al rey en Hebrón, y el rey David hizo pacto con ellos en Hebrón delante de Jehová; y ungieron a David como rey sobre Israel.

4 David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years.

4 David tenía treinta años cuando comenzó a reinar y reinó cuarenta años.

5 In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months: and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three years over all Israel and Judah.

5 En Hebrón reinó sobre Judá siete años y seis meses, y en Jerusalén reinó treinta y tres años sobre todo Israel y Judá.

6 And the king and his men went to Jerusalem unto the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land: which spake unto David, saying, Except thou take away the blind and the lame, thou shalt not come in hither: thinking, David cannot come in hither.

6 Entonces el rey y sus hombres fueron a Jerusalén contra los jebuseos que habitaban en aquella tierra; y ellos hablaron a David, diciendo: Tú no entrarás aquí, pues aun los ciegos y los cojos te rechazarán, diciendo: David no entrará aquí.

7 Nevertheless David took the strong hold of Zion: the same is the city of David.

7 Pero David tomó la fortaleza de Sion, la cual es la ciudad de David.

8 And David said on that day, Whosoever getteth up to the gutter, and smiteth the Jebusites, and the lame and the blind, that are hated of David's soul, he shall be chief and captain. Wherefore they said, The blind and the lame shall not come into the house.

8 Y dijo David aquel día: Todo el que ataque a los jebuseos, suba por el canal y hiera a los cojos y a los ciegos, a los cuales aborrece el alma de David. Por esto se dijo: Ni ciego ni cojo entrará en la casa.

9 So David dwelt in the fort, and called it the city of David. And David built round about from Millo and inward.

9 Y David moró en la fortaleza y le puso por nombre: la Ciudad de David; y edificó alrededor, desde Milo hacia dentro.

10 And David went on, and grew great, and the LORD God of hosts was with him.

10 Y David iba engrandeciéndose más y más, y Jehová Dios de los ejércitos estaba con él.

11 And Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar trees, and carpenters, and masons: and they built David an house.

11 E Hiram, rey de Tiro, envió también embajadores a David, y madera de cedro, y carpinteros y canteros para los muros, los cuales edificaron la casa de David.

12 And David perceived that the LORD had established him king over Israel, and that he had exalted his kingdom for his people Israel's sake.

12 Y entendió David que Jehová le había confirmado como rey sobre Israel, y que había enaltecido su reino por amor a su pueblo Israel.

13 And David took him more concubines and wives out of Jerusalem, after he was come from Hebron: and there were yet sons and daughters born to David.

13 Y tomó David más concubinas y esposas de Jerusalén después que vino de Hebrón, y le nacieron más hijos e hijas.

14 And these be the names of those that were born unto him in Jerusalem; Shammua, and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon,

14 Estos son los nombres de los que le nacieron en Jerusalén: Samúa, y Sobab, y Natán, y Salomón,

15 Ibhar also, and Elishua, and Nepheg, and Japhia,

15 e Ibhar, y Elisúa, y Nefeg, y Jafía,

16 And Elishama, and Eliada, and Eliphalet.

16 y Elisama, y Eliada y Elifelet.

17 But when the Philistines heard that they had anointed David king over Israel, all the Philistines came up to seek David; and David heard of it, and went down to the hold.

17 Y cuando oyeron los filisteos que habían ungido a David como rey sobre Israel, todos los filisteos subieron a buscar a David; y cuando David lo oyó, descendió a la fortaleza.

18 The Philistines also came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.

18 Y llegaron los filisteos y se extendieron por el valle de Refaim.

19 And David inquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up to the Philistines? wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the LORD said unto David, Go up: for I will doubtless deliver the Philistines into thine hand.

19 Entonces consultó David a Jehová, diciendo: ¿Iré contra los filisteos? ¿Los entregarás en mis manos? Y Jehová respondió a David: Ve, porque ciertamente entregaré a los filisteos en tus manos.

20 And David came to Baal-perazim, and David smote them there, and said, The LORD hath broken forth upon mine enemies before me, as the breach of waters. Therefore he called the name of that place Baal-perazim.

20 Y vino David a Baal-perazim, y allí los venció David, y dijo: Jehová ha irrumpido contra mis enemigos delante de mí, como las aguas que abren una brecha. Y por esto llamó el nombre de aquel lugar Baal-perazim.

21 And there they left their images, and David and his men burned them.

21 Y dejaron allí sus ídolos, y David y sus hombres los quemaron.

22 And the Philistines came up yet again, and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.

22 Y los filisteos volvieron a subir y se desplegaron por el valle de Refaim.

23 And when David inquired of the LORD, he said, Thou shalt not go up; but fetch a compass behind them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees.

23 Y cuando David consultó a Jehová, él le respondió: No subas, sino rodéalos por detrás y atácalos por delante de los árboles de bálsamo.

24 And let it be, when thou hearest the sound of a going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt bestir thyself: for then shall the LORD go out before thee, to smite the host of the Philistines.

24 Y cuando oigas un ruido como de marcha por las copas de los árboles, entonces atacarás, porque Jehová saldrá delante de ti a herir al ejército de los filisteos.

25 And David did so, as the LORD had commanded him; and smote the Philistines from Geba until thou come to Gazer.

25 Y David lo hizo así, como Jehová se lo había mandado; e hirió a los filisteos desde Geba hasta llegar a Gezer.
