1 And Elisha the prophet called one of the children of the prophets, and said unto him, Gird up thy loins, and take this box of oil in thine hand, and go to Ramoth-gilead:

1 Entonces el profeta Eliseo llamó a uno de los hijos de los profetas y le dijo: Ciñe tus lomos, y toma este recipiente de aceite en tu mano y ve a Ramot de Galaad.

2 And when thou comest thither, look out there Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi, and go in, and make him arise up from among his brethren, and carry him to an inner chamber;

2 Y cuando llegues allá, verás allí a Jehú hijo de Josafat, hijo de Nimsi; y entra, y haz que se levante de entre sus hermanos y llévalo a una habitación interior.

3 Then take the box of oil, and pour it on his head, and say, Thus saith the LORD, I have anointed thee king over Israel. Then open the door, and flee, and tarry not.

3 Entonces toma el recipiente de aceite y derrámalo sobre su cabeza, y di: Así dice Jehová: Yo te he ungido rey sobre Israel. Y abre la puerta, y echa a correr y no esperes.

4 So the young man, even the young man the prophet, went to Ramoth-gilead.

4 Fue, pues, el joven, el criado del profeta, a Ramot de Galaad.

5 And when he came, behold, the captains of the host were sitting; and he said, I have an errand to thee, O captain. And Jehu said, Unto which of all us? And he said, To thee, O captain.

5 Y cuando él entró, he aquí que los jefes del ejército estaban sentados. Y él dijo: Jefe, tengo un mensaje para ti. Y Jehú dijo: ¿Para cuál de todos nosotros? Y él dijo: Para ti, oh jefe.

6 And he arose, and went into the house; and he poured the oil on his head, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, I have anointed thee king over the people of the LORD, even over Israel.

6 Y él se levantó y entró en la casa; y el otro derramó el aceite sobre su cabeza y le dijo: Así ha dicho Jehová Dios de Israel: Yo te he ungido rey sobre el pueblo de Jehová, sobre Israel.

7 And thou shalt smite the house of Ahab thy master, that I may avenge the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of the LORD, at the hand of Jezebel.

7 Y herirás la casa de Acab, tu señor, para que yo vengue la sangre de mis siervos los profetas y la sangre de todos los siervos de Jehová derramada por la mano de Jezabel.

8 For the whole house of Ahab shall perish: and I will cut off from Ahab him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel:

8 Y perecerá toda la casa de Acab, y talaré de Acab a todo varón en Israel, tanto al siervo como al libre.

9 And I will make the house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah:

9 Y yo haré a la casa de Acab como a la casa de Jeroboam hijo de Nabat, y como a la casa de Baasa hijo de Ahías.

10 And the dogs shall eat Jezebel in the portion of Jezreel, and there shall be none to bury her. And he opened the door, and fled.

10 Y a Jezabel la devorarán los perros en el campo de Jezreel, y no habrá quien la sepulte. Enseguida abrió la puerta y echó a correr.

11 Then Jehu came forth to the servants of his lord: and one said unto him, Is all well? wherefore came this mad fellow to thee? And he said unto them, Ye know the man, and his communication.

11 Después salió Jehú adonde estaban los siervos de su señor, y ellos le dijeron: ¿Todo bien? ¿Para qué vino a ti aquel loco? Y él les dijo: Vosotros conocéis al hombre y su habla.

12 And they said, It is false; tell us now. And he said, Thus and thus spake he to me, saying, Thus saith the LORD, I have anointed thee king over Israel.

12 Y ellos dijeron: Mentira; decláranoslo ahora. Y él dijo: Así y así me habló, diciendo: Así ha dicho Jehová: Yo te he ungido rey sobre Israel.

13 Then they hasted, and took every man his garment, and put it under him on the top of the stairs, and blew with trumpets, saying, Jehu is king.

13 Entonces cada uno tomó prontamente su manto y lo puso debajo de él en lo alto de las escaleras, y tocaron trompeta y dijeron: Jehú es rey.

14 So Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi conspired against Joram. (Now Joram had kept Ramoth-gilead, he and all Israel, because of Hazael king of Syria.

14 Así conspiró Jehú hijo de Josafat, hijo de Nimsi, contra Joram. (Entonces estaba Joram defendiendo Ramot de Galaad con todo Israel, por causa de Hazael, rey de Siria.

15 But king Joram was returned to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Syrians had given him, when he fought with Hazael king of Syria.) And Jehu said, If it be your minds, then let none go forth nor escape out of the city to go to tell it in Jezreel.

15 Pero había regresado el rey Joram a Jezreel, para curarse de las heridas que los sirios le habían hecho, peleando contra Hazael, rey de Siria). Y Jehú dijo: Si es vuestra voluntad, ninguno escape de la ciudad para ir a dar las nuevas en Jezreel.

16 So Jehu rode in a chariot, and went to Jezreel; for Joram lay there. And Ahaziah king of Judah was come down to see Joram.

16 Entonces Jehú subió en un carro y fue a Jezreel, porque Joram estaba allí enfermo. También Ocozías, rey de Judá, había descendido a visitar a Joram.

17 And there stood a watchman on the tower in Jezreel, and he spied the company of Jehu as he came, and said, I see a company. And Joram said, Take an horseman, and send to meet them, and let him say, Is it peace?

17 Y el atalaya que estaba en la torre de Jezreel vio la cuadrilla de Jehú que venía, y dijo: Yo veo una cuadrilla. Y Joram dijo: Toma a un jinete y envíalo a reconocerlos y que les diga: ¿Hay paz?

18 So there went one on horseback to meet him, and said, Thus saith the king, Is it peace? And Jehu said, What hast thou to do with peace? turn thee behind me. And the watchman told, saying, The messenger came to them, but he cometh not again.

18 Fue, pues, el jinete a reconocerlos y dijo: El rey dice así: ¿Hay paz? Y Jehú le dijo: ¿Qué tienes tú que ver con la paz? Ponte detrás de mí. El atalaya dio aviso, diciendo: El mensajero llegó hasta ellos y no vuelve.

19 Then he sent out a second on horseback, which came to them, and said, Thus saith the king, Is it peace? And Jehu answered, What hast thou to do with peace? turn thee behind me.

19 Entonces envió a otro jinete, el cual llegó a ellos y dijo: El rey dice así: ¿Hay paz? Y Jehú respondió: ¿Qué tienes tú que ver con la paz? Ponte detrás de mí.

20 And the watchman told, saying, He came even unto them, and cometh not again: and the driving is like the driving of Jehu the son of Nimshi; for he driveth furiously.

20 El atalaya volvió a decir: También este llegó a ellos y no vuelve; pero el conducir del que viene es como el conducir de Jehú hijo de Nimsi, porque viene impetuosamente.

21 And Joram said, Make ready. And his chariot was made ready. And Joram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah went out, each in his chariot, and they went out against Jehu, and met him in the portion of Naboth the Jezreelite.

21 Entonces Joram dijo: Preparad el carro. Y preparado su carro, salió Joram, rey de Israel, y Ocozías, rey de Judá, cada uno en su carro, y salieron a encontrar a Jehú, al que encontraron en el campo de Nabot de Jezreel.

22 And it came to pass, when Joram saw Jehu, that he said, Is it peace, Jehu? And he answered, What peace, so long as the whoredoms of thy mother Jezebel and her witchcrafts are so many?

22 Y sucedió que cuando Joram vio a Jehú, dijo: ¿Hay paz, Jehú? Y él respondió: ¿Qué paz, con las fornicaciones de tu madre Jezabel y sus muchas hechicerías?

23 And Joram turned his hands, and fled, and said to Ahaziah, There is treachery, O Ahaziah.

23 Entonces Joram, volviendo las riendas, huyó y dijo a Ocozías: ¡Traición, Ocozías!

24 And Jehu drew a bow with his full strength, and smote Jehoram between his arms, and the arrow went out at his heart, and he sunk down in his chariot.

24 Pero Jehú tensó su arco con toda su fuerza e hirió a Joram en la espalda; y la saeta salió por su corazón, y él cayó en su carro.

25 Then said Jehu to Bidkar his captain, Take up, and cast him in the portion of the field of Naboth the Jezreelite: for remember how that, when I and thou rode together after Ahab his father, the LORD laid this burden upon him;

25 Entonces dijo Jehú a Bidcar, su capitán: Tómalo y arrójalo en un extremo del campo de Nabot de Jezreel. Acuérdate de que cuando tú y yo íbamos juntos con la gente de Acab, su padre, Jehová pronunció esta sentencia sobre él, diciendo:

26 Surely I have seen yesterday the blood of Naboth, and the blood of his sons, saith the LORD; and I will requite thee in this plat, saith the LORD. Now therefore take and cast him into the plat of ground, according to the word of the LORD.

26 Yo he visto ayer la sangre de Nabot y la sangre de sus hijos, dice Jehová; y en este mismo campo te haré pagar, dice Jehová. Tómalo pues, ahora, y arrójalo en ese campo, conforme a la palabra de Jehová.

27 But when Ahaziah the king of Judah saw this, he fled by the way of the garden house. And Jehu followed after him, and said, Smite him also in the chariot. And they did so at the going up to Gur, which is by Ibleam. And he fled to Megiddo, and died there.

27 Y viendo esto Ocozías, rey de Judá, huyó por el camino de la casa del huerto. Y lo persiguió Jehú, diciendo: Matad también a este en el carro. Y le hirieron a la subida de Gur, junto a Ibleam. Y él huyó a Meguido y murió allí.

28 And his servants carried him in a chariot to Jerusalem, and buried him in his sepulchre with his fathers in the city of David.

28 Y sus siervos le llevaron en un carro a Jerusalén y allá le sepultaron con sus padres, en su sepulcro en la ciudad de David.

29 And in the eleventh year of Joram the son of Ahab began Ahaziah to reign over Judah.

29 En el undécimo año de Joram hijo de Acab, había comenzado a reinar Ocozías sobre Judá.

30 And when Jehu was come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she painted her face, and tired her head, and looked out at a window.

30 Llegó después Jehú a Jezreel; y cuando Jezabel lo oyó, se pintó los ojos con antimonio, y adornó su cabeza y se asomó a una ventana.

31 And as Jehu entered in at the gate, she said, Had Zimri peace, who slew his master?

31 Y cuando entraba Jehú por la puerta, ella dijo: ¿Le va bien a Zimri, el que mató a su señor?

32 And he lifted up his face to the window, and said, Who is on my side? who? And there looked out to him two or three eunuchs.

32 Entonces él alzó su rostro hacia la ventana y dijo: ¿Quién está conmigo? ¿Quién? Y miraron hacia él dos o tres oficiales.

33 And he said, Throw her down. So they threw her down: and some of her blood was sprinkled on the wall, and on the horses: and he trode her under foot.

33 Y él les dijo: Echadla abajo. Y ellos la echaron, y parte de su sangre salpicó la pared y los caballos; y él la atropelló.

34 And when he was come in, he did eat and drink, and said, Go, see now this cursed woman, and bury her: for she is a king's daughter.

34 Y entró luego Jehú, y después que comió y bebió, dijo: Id ahora a ver a aquella maldita y sepultadla, porque es hija de rey.

35 And they went to bury her: but they found no more of her than the skull, and the feet, and the palms of her hands.

35 Pero cuando fueron para sepultarla, no hallaron de ella más que el cráneo, y los pies y las palmas de las manos.

36 Wherefore they came again, and told him. And he said, This is the word of the LORD, which he spake by his servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, In the portion of Jezreel shall dogs eat the flesh of Jezebel:

36 Y volvieron y se lo dijeron. Y él dijo: Esta es la palabra de Dios, la cual él habló por medio de su siervo Elías, el tisbita, diciendo: En el campo de Jezreel comerán los perros las carnes de Jezabel.

37 And the carcase of Jezebel shall be as dung upon the face of the field in the portion of Jezreel; so that they shall not say, This is Jezebel.

37 Y el cuerpo de Jezabel será como estiércol sobre la faz de la tierra en el campo de Jezreel; de manera que nadie pueda decir: Esta es Jezabel.
